Haven't actually watched the video yet cos I'm at work but have read about the food safety bill and thought I'd point out if you go to foodsafety dot govt dot nz and look up policy law slash reform-nz-food-regulations/foo­d-bill/ it says home growers for personal consumption are exempt? No doubt things are getting a bit scary here in NZ but the food safety website DOES say we can grow our own veges to eat ourselves :)

The government bill was introduced to Parliament in May 2010, which has since passed its first reading and been through a Select Committee review. It is one of the most dangerous bills to ever come through the NZ parliament, so much so that is it even being written about in the US. Look it up for yourself on the NZ Food Security website

The Bill requires a person who deals with food to take all reasonable steps to ensure that the food is safe and suitable.
