  • As i recall there was a very bad accident at 2:03, 1993 i think, air hose blockage caused the train to surge out of control, shows how dangerous this pass really is, u never know what can happen in MSTS as well. Word to the wise...at the Summit...do a brake test ;)

  • intense!

  • What's the name of the song at 6:10?

  • Nothing to look at is the point of consintrating :D

  • Teh new Marias pass :D

  • Amazing review! But where did you get that ATSF C44-9W #631 at the end from?

  • @1314matt Train-sim reskin. I forget the file name.

  • @trmania: Thanks, I found it. Could find it until I typed in "631" in the search field.

  • awesome video

  • Thanks!

  • I think that I heard of Cajon Pass, but I don't know what it looked like at first. Did you know that Santa Fe 3751 tackled the steep grades of Cajon Pass on its way to Williams, Arizona, in August of 2002?

  • The Terminator theme made me laugh. You make these videos rediculously epic sometimes.

  • Uh, thanks, but that isn't the Terminator theme. The song credits are in Part III in order of appearance.

  • @trmania @trmania I was talking about the "Da DA da da DA" at 5:28. Which, after listening to the full song I realize is part of it.

But it sounds just like the beginning of the Terminator 2 theme to me.

  • It's actually "Horvall" by Corner Stone Cues. I do hear the similarity to Terminator, though.

  • where did you get up 1983?

  • Mophouse/MLT Downloads

  • thanks!

  • I have the payware evrsion it is great!

  • up rulez! bnsf suckz!

  • nick........get grants update, then youll think twice about saying this really aint a good route

  • What update are you talking about? I'm unaware of "Grant's Update".

  • BTW whre did you get the UP engines at 1:18 ??

  • The two lead engines are freeware at train-sim. The third is included with Cascades Crossing. The fourth is a reskin of a CC loco available at train-sim.

  • Grat has redon the free wear cajon pass, with new track, signals, and put FPM surfliner stations in, as well as newer buildings, and me and a friend are planing on finishing the SP side as well

  • He can't release it if it's got stuff from the FPM Surfliner...that would be illegal.

  • who said he is to release it? no one, i have it, and me and another are scale railing it and adding more stuff to it, including the 3rd main

  • You yourself said "get Grant's update". If he's not going to release it, no one can get it.

  • Huh Trmania I thought this pass was for union pacific why the hill did i see a southern pacific deisel?

  • UP bought out SP, and SP originally owned some of the tracks of the pass.

  • What editing program do you use? Great video!

  • Were talking 'cable ready' on this one! You must have one AWESOME computer to do this stuff. For my vain attempts, it's hurking and jerking nd just can't get the vantage points. Cajon Pass is nice, but I'm seriously into your videos! :)

  • Geat work, where did you get all the SP and SSW stuff at 2:00??

  • Those are included with MLT's Cascades Crossing.

  • Once I heard of 3d trains's version, I just thought "oh yeah, here we go!". Great so far man.

  • Yeah your right about the texturing on this version of the Cajon Pass, it's way to "gray" and low-resolution and doesn't feel bright like Southern California. The pass on this version looks more like Western Washington or Wyoming at best. When I watched the video at 0:57 I was thinking "Great, this review is gonna be interesting". haha

  • EDIT: Eastern Washington State.

  • I love your editing!

  • it this 3DTS' version cuase i go that and the 3751 add-on

  • This is the freeware version.

  • OH!...

  • I couldn't tell until the downsides part of the review.

I guess this is how it goes I guess.

    Part 1of 2:Cajon pass (Freeware)

    Part 2 of 2:Cajon pass (3DTS edition)

  • Hah great job! A cliff hanger!

  • This looks more like 3D train stuff's design.

  • Nope, it's the freeware version. The end is 3DTS' version.

  • Holy shit, I love this. :D

  • Fantastic work!

    A real cliffhanger.

Looking forward to many more of these.

You are serving a very noble purpose in this hobby.

  • WOW, great job on the review nick.

  • Nick, you gone beyond any of your other reviews. The review, music and camera work were all excellent! I totally agree on your view of the route itself though. The scenery is few and far between which makes the route really boring to run.

  • Wow... Holy... Wow...!

This might very well be the single most epic review video of any kind in the history of Youtube! Just the music alone is beyond description! I congratulate you, sir, and eagerly await your next installment!

  • Epic music, but the volume still isnt balanced, some spots looked fine, but as you said most of it is pretty....plain from what you've presented.
