hey i have a problem with my jd bullying my sun catfish so i quaratined her in a bucket (wih a filter) i was thinkin for about a week or so so that the catfish can establish territory do you think this will help or any adviceits in 55 gallon tank
@pitbull0592 Sun cats, at least in my limited experience, tend to be more active during the night than the day. The best thing you can do for the JD situation is probably just give the sun cat several places to hide. As long as they have something to hide in, they tend to do okay when housed with aggressive cichlids.
mine just got stuck in a net i had to jut part of the net its dorsal fin was stuck once i got it out i noticed the bone in the fine tor so the bone is seprate from the fine any advice plz
@moormandrm Their dorsal and pectoral fins are rigid and have back-facing "teeth" on them. That's what got caught in the mesh netting. As far as the soft fin separating from the spine, that will heal with time.
I have 4 eclipse catfish but they were so used to living in a pet store with the light on they really don't care. But when it is dark they are very active.
All 3 of mine were active during the day in the store, but as soon as I got them home and they had a dark corner to hide in, they made themselves comfortable. It's almost comical how easy they are to forget about when you don't see them on a regular basis, but I usually leave a few sinking pellets around for the cleaner crayfish on nights when there isn't excess food for them anyway, so they seem to have done ok with that for the last couple years.

My two eclispe catfish are very shy during the day. Only frozen blood worms or shrimp will drive them to leave their comfortable caves during the day.
One eclispe has eaten one of my cory cats.
