Tough one, im a little biased so sheet metal is still good for me. Has its ups and downs but still pays well. Over the last 13 years ive been out of work for 3 months. Where im at now is still crazy busy so there is work out there.

good idea, pay wont be great to start but after a few years under your belt it will be worth while. good luck.

I used to make commercial HVAC ductwork using finger brakes and 10" brakes. Pretty boring, but at least we had music! That would drive me mad!

@jonesy97 Shop work is insanity work because you do the same thing over and over.Fieldwork is different.

I know, I've done both, and was a PM for 2 1/2 years, and now, thanks to lay-off's, I'm back into the field again starting next month.
