@MrDip02 Actually, I just looked up the list price for industrial magnets and 216 0.25-inch N42 NIB spheres came in at almost 100 dollars even if you buy them by the thousands. I imagine that these "nano dots" are probably a bit smaller magnet-wise with very thick jacket to protect them against the chipping that normal thinly-plated NIB magnets suffer from.

So, not a rip, the materials alone almost certainly cost most of their asking price.

@stroodlerainbow I've heard that Buckyballs tend to be poorly made (i.e. the finish comes off, they stop being particularly magnetic, they're not uniformly sized, etc.) and I think they're generally considered to be one of the cheaper-quality brands. Nanodots are often thought to be the best, although I've heard lots of good things about Zen Magnets too. Personally I would stick with one of those two brands. (I own one set of Nanodots, and I can't put them down. Absolutely addicting.)

35 pound?! My god... that's 54.4 dollar. I found cheaper ones, even on the official site. $39.95 for original. $44.95 for black or silver. $49.95 for gold. Still expensive if you look at neocubes, buckyballs or zen magnets. The price doesn't make them good quality, it could also be a cheap chinese toy bought in bulk and sold for few times the price. I'm not saying these are bad quality and from a bad chinese company... I think they are really good and professional.

I've got the bucky balls, and i say that they work just fine. plus they were cheaper than the nano dots, they work fine for my 10 year sister (under supervision) because the magintc isn't as strong as the nano dots (which my uncle has). she couldn't pull those apart with her tiny little fingers. as for the paint chipping offf, well then the 'buckyballs' you have are made poorly, cause i've had these for 2 months and no paint chipping off. plus if the paint chips off.. it will still work.
