In my opinion he was WORTHLESS to me in Melee because he was too damn slow and bulky.

No, they didn't take that out. The controller is awkward to hold (the classic controller) so we often forget to hit "R" or "L" and tech. It's still there, but it's hard to focus when you're the first group of people to play Brawl in a place full of excitement.

tis his side B "the koopa claw" or whatevs.  instead of swipe-damage/grab&throw, you automatically do a somersault and pile drive in a direction you can control. It really makes him quicker and a more agile character!

i'm not sure. You can body slam either left or right. Aries didn't seem to try to press "A" to chomp on them from what I was able to see.

Aries usually doesn't tap "A" to add damage after grabs in melee, so his playstyle in Brawl was probably the same (didn't tap "A" after grabs to chomp).

I'm thinking you can because I remember he was just standing there holding the guy deciding if he'd go right or left with the slam.

I heard from Gimpyfish, who mains Bowser and was at (and thoroughly studied), the demo, that if Bowser uses his Over B and doesn't pull a foe in for a grab, he'll automatically do the bodyslam, but you can alter its trajectory like Kirby's Up B. From what I've heard, Bowser can also use this bodyslam to perform kamikaze KOs, like a Kirbycide.

no, he's not the same at all. He's improved a lot. Much better vertical recovery. His Side B (the claw swipe) doesn't slash anymore, it's a "grab only" move. And, it's like "woah!" It's the pile driver that you see.

His UpB bounces off the ground if you do it in the air, so you no longer have near-instant recovery time when you do an Aerial Up B.

Down B (Boswer Bum Slam-thing) doesn't flinch and it hits on the way up and connects on the way down. (2 hitter).
