  • The basic model is the best in my opinion. I haven't tried the other one, or ab straps, but my friend uses this all the time including myself and it's a really neat invention. Especially if you live in an apartment or some place where you can't install a real one.

  • plz plzz tell me where can i buy this.....is this available on E-BAY???

WE DONT GET THINGS LIKE THESE IN HERE..ITS EITHER "U GO TO THE GYM OR GET FAT SITTIN AT HOME"

i really feel like a dick wen i skip gym..so i need this...

    PLZ REPLY

  • @rohan64bit Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart, Academy... just about anywhere fitness equipment is sold. I've even seen them at Staples

  • @rohan64bit I got my Iron Gym at Sport's Authority. It will probably be at Dicks Sports Authority or Big Five or your local sports store.

  • check my video with same bar

  • included in every russian happy meal...

  • @cooldudepro if your door frame is too wide then you might have to get the extended long bar but you can probably find it cheaper on eBay cuz ordering it from the paper it comes with is expensive

  • i got the same iron gym :D

  • just got one as a birthday gift! i love it!

  • i just don't understand how a door frame can handle so much weight. But apparently it can

  • @msmithstud

I would hope a door frame can handle a human body, its only part of the foundation of you house.

  • where do i buy this in canada?

  • @kleash I saw them at Zellers.

  • you sir, are buff on the arms

  • the first time i tried this i thought i was gona bring the door down

  • very nice bro. so when doing this your suppose to go all the way down. i guess i been doing it wrong then. thanks

  • FML bought this and my doorframe is too big

  • Man im having such a promblem putting it together :/, i asked other people to help but they cant do it either.. oh well Insanity it is :D!!

  • Does this ruin the door frame?

  • nice job

any tips on doing more pullups

i have the same bar. im only 13 btw.

  • I dont like to hate, but my bro has one and it broke in less than 6 months. The rubber.

  • How much would you guys say this helped you out in muscle mass gaining? Im looking into buying one of these.

  • Can I install it on an inclined surfaced?

  • how do you shut the door?

  • @dhruvvikram u take it off the door it just pulls up and off

  • GOOD ON YA MATE...

umm does there gap between door your door frame & wall? My door frame has no gap it does not fit at my door frame...

    So, it won't fit?

  • oohrah devil dog

  • I've just bought one but I'm afraid it could destroy my door frame...is it safe?

  • @silvergun83 if your under 250 your good.

  • what s the minimum length for this bar's grip for the door frame i live in a apartment the door is like maybe the width part is like 1 cm

  • hey do u kno how to install the safety wedge thing it comes with or what it is for???

  • how many reps a day should you do?

  • I love mine. Im 15 and i can do more reps tho ;)

  • can someone tell me wth the hex wrench is?

  • @seemless1134 hex wrench is the little wrench the iron gym comes with to help assemble it.

  • I wanna buy this but I'm afraid the door frame is going to break.

  • @ihopeutubedies Door frames are pretty solid, I have a bar similar to this and use with no problems, weigh around 230lbs, the door frame is sturdier than it seems

  • CRAP QUALITY. The handles are CHEAP rubber and shredded after 8 months of light use :(

  • @jazzzman1000 What are your hands made of? I've had mine about a year and a half or so now, and even take it to work, where it takes a beating and I've had absolutley no problems with it.

  • @airwingmarine1979 Don't know what to tell you. Maybe I got the new and degraded model?! Actually with all the knock-offs around, who really knows. It was a xmas gift. I think they bought it at one of those "as seen on TV" stores in a mall.

  • I bought one a week ago and I love it! Works perfectly and is very sturdy on the door frame.

  • Is there any danger of breaking the door frame?cuz idk if the force goes towards the wall or towards the door frame.could any1 help me?

  • oh my door frame was too narrow that makes sense

  • of all pieces of exercise equipment i must say this is probably the most useful. I normally don't like buying those retarded exercise stuff u always see on the infomorcials, but this one is legit

  • I have this and I'm pretty buff if you have it get into the habit of doing at least two or 5 each time you go under out when I go out I do the I am legend behind the head pull up and when I go into it I do a pull or something

  • will it fall off the frame

  • doest it come with hooks where you can hang it to? my doors doesnt have any frame

  • @ekubalusabyan Nope, no hooks. I can't use mine right now because the only "hook" it has is the safety tab to keep it from falling off the door when you're not using it. The house I'm currently in doesn't have frames on the doors either so I can't use it right now.

  • @airwingmarine1979 thanks man....

  • Anybody else's hands hurt a little after doing pull ups on this bar?

    Mine do.

  • @wafflecushioned Well, physical training is not always going to feel good... in fact if it does you're probably not pushing yourself hard enough. Yeah, my grip is a little sore everytime, and get calluses, too, but that's part of it sometimes.

  • @airwingmarine1979 I used to do pull ups on my fence overhang which hurt like hell afterwards and I would get splinters all the time. Then I got this pull up bar and was surprised when my hands still hurt a little afterwards since I thought foam handles would be kinder to my already calloused hands. Of course it doesn't hurt as much as the fence post which i'm glad I left behind. Everytime I walk past the fence post when taking out the trash I do a pull up. I just can't resist that fence post.

  • @airwingmarine1979 i hate the calluses, thy're just hard bumps on your hands that make your hands look ugly :( i get them a lot.

  • @wafflecushioned yea i get blisters all the time from it

  • @wafflecushioned wear weight training gloves if u find this is a proplem, they are fairly inexpensive :)

  • @wafflecushioned Get lifting gloves bro thats what they are for

  • Im 14 years old, since I have had this, I have seen A big improvement, from 8 and now I can do 23 in around 40 seconds.

  • U need 2 shave ur hairy armpitts or atleast put on a shirt...women like me aren't interested in gross stuff like that..

  • @fahmynickness Well then don't watch the video... :p

  • @airwingmarine1979 then she shouldnt be looking up this? lol

  • @fahmynickness The video is showing the pull up bar. Last time I checked it didn't say "Hey girls, check me out. You'll love looking at my armpits". Do you shave?

  • @ridadrob Sorry, I just re-read this string of comments and figured out you were backing me on this... sincerest apologies!

  • @fahmynickness Im pretty sure thats why you're single

  • can someone give me some tips on the wide grip pull up? I can only do 1 one of those :S

  • @kap2z yep. keep practicing. it's that easy. there's no magic to it dude, if you can only do 1 then obviously you still need to build up your strength. if you have access to a lat pulldown machine, use that to increase your strength by starting with a weight lower than your body weight and build up...

by the way, i'm just some dude, i'm not a personal trainer or anything. all the best.

  • can anyone help me out.i have had the iron gym bar for about 3 weeks and i'm wondering how long it takes to see any results and if anyone can give me any tips on how to take full advantage of it i.e how many reps to do each day and how many times a day to use it.im all over the place with it at the moment and any info would be appreciated

  • call me a retard but I don't know how to get it on my door

  • youir going to low, i injured my elbow doing that

  • @lilronaldoniqqa Those are Marine Corps pullups. I've been doing them that way for the last 7 years and have never once injured my elbow. A proper pullup is starting from a dead hang, raising yourself until your chin crosses the plane of the top of the bar and all the way back down to a dead hang again - that's one complete pullup. If you don't lock your arms out when you come down, you're not getting the full range of motion for the pullup and you're cheating yourself.

  • @airwingmarine1979

he isn't going to low that is a proper pull up

  • @airwingmarine1979

military pull ups are done this way ( in france )

hardest way to do the pull up imo.

  • @lilronaldoniqqa if you go all the way down it gives you a good stretch as well as good form. Your elbow hurting has to do with you must have a bum elbow. He is doing the pullup totaly correct.

  • how long would it take till you start getting results, like how many would you do in one go, in the morning and at night

im gonna get one you see

  • @JustKuda I use mine every day...at first I couldnt do any... I kept trying.. one week later I could do 5..... Now I can do 15-20 easy... i've had it for a month... works great... Big arms, fast.

  • hey i have a iron gym too.. but i can do a pull up with it.. what advise can you give me to help me out..

  • @Crazycaraudio Do you mean that you are physically unable to do a pullup, is it an issue with the bar? If you are not strong enough yet, then get a chair under it or something where you can help your arms with your leg power until your arms/back gets stronger. Also increasing the strength in those muscles with weight training should show you improvement over time. Just don't expect any quick fixes.

  • im 13 and with this i've been able to go from doing one pull up to four pull ups :D

  • Nice video, it looks like a really sturdy piece of kit!

  • man i dont know how you do those wide ones ....

  • I just bought one too, waiting for it to arrive.

    I'm a "former" F-18 airwingmarine too!

No sweat maxin' the ole PFT huh?

    Cool! -TonY

  • @irepbmore

Doing leg lifts while hanging in the pullup position- or doing an "L" is CRAZY for the abs... A few seconds and you have a burn much better than tons of perfect crunches. Results fast. Don't laugh next day.

  • your dropping too low ur gonna hurt ur arms. You should drop yourself so your arms are at a 90 degree angle, and then pull up.

  • @Elipticle Actually, those are Marine Corps style pullups. You're not going to hurt your arms by going all the way down. You're actually cheating yourself if you don't go all the way down because you don't get the full range of motion for the pullup. You should always go all the way down.

  • you have amazing back muscles, i have an iron gym and tbh it basically pays for itself. Its so good the things u get out of it.

  • How secure is this bar? Please, I'm starting p90x in a week or so.

  • @Kayis5 really secure, unless if the door henge you are using is old but on most houses it will be safe enough to use.

  • i have a question

i know pull ups and chin ups dont really help build your chest, but wud the vertical, narrow, or wide help most with the chest?

  • i have a question

i know pull ups and chin ups dont really help build your chest, but wud the vertical, narrow, or wide help most with the chest?

  • @iAirs0ft wide grip

  • lol it doesnt fit on my door ... i dunno why im kinda sad ;(

  • Would the bar rip the dorframe out if someone was heavy?

  • does this come with the arm things?

  • did you grow taller? how tall were you and how tall are you now? im 17 and 5'5 tryna get to somewhere 5'8

  • @IndonesiaNegaraKu No, you won't get taller. The only thing that determines how tall you'll grow to be is genetics. I don't know where people are getting the idea that pullups make you grow taller. :S ??

  • @airwingmarine1979 i don't know but i find it hilarious lol

  • @airwingmarine1979 maybe hanging on the pull-up bar "extends" spine

  • @feliks000 No, it doesn't.

  • @airwingmarine1979 Hanging causes stretching of the body, its logical, like the way some people believe squatting stunts growth due to the downward pressure. Dunno if all thats true but just sayin it makes sense. whats your other favorite equipment?

  • @SlayersPulse Yes, hanging does stretch the body, but only if you do it for hours. Sleeping does the same thing because as you sleep there's no downward pressure on the spine so the cushion between each vertebrae expands. Soon after you get up, the spine compresses again because of the return of the downward pressure. My other favorite piece is my Ab Lounge.

  • @airwingmarine1979

They don't make you GROW taller, but they do make you taller. It is all about your back/spine area being curved, which effectively makes you shorter. Theoretically, the longer you hang, the straighter your back becomes.

    As this video states: watch?v=IF55ruqjY8o&feature=related

  • @airwingmarine1979 hey man i have a question about this pullup bar. if i am doing hanging windshield wipers on that, will it be able to hold up? i am 170lb

  • @IndonesiaNegaraKu THey might make your arms longer haha

  • @BlankXpresun93 No, sorry, wrong again. Pullups don't make anything longer... your body, arms, nothing. They increase arm, back, and lat strength, but nothings going to get longer.

  • @airwingmarine1979 i just got i iron gym pull up bar and then i put it on my door frame and it did'ent fit what should i do

  • @kethmiler Take it back and get something that will fit. I'm in a new house than I was in when I took this video and the door frames won't support the pullup bar because they're there for looks/trim, not functionality. The Iron Gym is not appropriate for every situation, but there are things you can do with it other than pullups.

  • @airwingmarine1979 you got that right. I do pushups and dips with them too. But I still recommend just regular pushup stands for pushups.

  • @kethmiler or order the extended bar thats wider

  • dude, do you use it for doing abs?

Also, do you find it annonying when your elbow hits the frame when you are using the wide grip?

Man, I just bought this thing today and I love it.

But, the triceps exercise using it is really stupid. Also, dude, I like doing pushups on the wide grip more than the narrow grip. Because the booket on it showed the close grip pushup only.

Also, I got it only for CAD 9.99 so I dont know why people are saying that they got it for $40.

  • what are the dimensions of the door frame?

  • Just ordered mine off XXL Gym, hope it works. How do you set it up?

  • I had the same concern, just do it! your not going to break anything, your not

going to fall. I am 5"10,195lbs. I was only able to do 5 reps(of chin ups and pull ups) my 1st time,I have to build it up over time of course.

  • can anybody please tell me what is that pull up bar called..where i can take it off and use it agen

  • This thing is amazing, never thought it'd be so easy to install a pull-up bar, and it can sort of double as a pushup stand ... that said, it has also made two enormous dents on the sides of my door frame..

  • is uses leverage, pulling on the various grips forces the pressure into the side of the door frame where the foam pads are.

This is an awsome piece of kit, there are sever pull up positions you can do not to mention using the iron gym bar for sit ups and pull ups.

I especially love using it for pull ups, because of its curved structure you can dip a good 10 centimetres lower than you are able to using only the floor.

Good investment for upper body strength !

  • will i stop growing if i lift weights or this pull up bar? im 16

  • @greatchefdennis Don't lift weights, just do pullups and other calisthenics.

  • @greatchefdennis nope, any fitness expert will tell you that lifting weights will not stunt your growth..that is just an ancient myth that ruins encouragement for exercise in teenagers. Think about it, exercise is GOOD for you haha. dont believe this myth!

  • So the middle one works on your chest? And the side one works on your shoulder and back?

  • i dont understand how that doesnt damage your door. I would be afraid of doing pull ups and have the whole door fall over.

  • @Catsetsfire Then don't get one... you see me doing pullups there so obvioulsy it's not going to fall.

  • @airwingmarine1979 it won't fall out, it's just simple physics. The main force is push against the wall not pull the door frame down. i have one, not because it's simple, cheap, but also because the physics behind it ( i'm major physics ^^).

  • @Catsetsfire it does put damage on my door frame but just because the bar's rubbing against it so theres dents its been there for 5 months with no big damage im 220 so dont use it if you're doorframes are weak

  • @Catsetsfire I think over time it will slowly ruin your door frame, but it depends on a lot of factors like the quality of the equipment you use, the quality of your molding, how you use the product...etc... but I would find it very hard to believe that it leaves absolutely no damage after an extended period of time. Oh...the things we must sacrifice for fitness ;) Someone told me if you insert a cloth on the parts that touch the side of your door frame it will minimize the damage done there.

  • @Catsetsfire it is very safe, i can guarantee that, and it is foam padded everywhere that the bar contacts the door, so it keeps the door safe from harm.

  • OK. Everyone, cool it!! These video comments are not going to be turned into a bitch session, or, "My workouts are better than yours."

  • Pull-up are amazing. They can work the lats, biceps, triceps, and forearms.

  • i dont tihnk these crack the door trim at all.. they use leverage very good... the ones that work like a big screw and u put in between the door frame suck...

those are a thing of the past and apparent are unsafe cause there's videos of people using them and they fall.. lol Keep in mind the weight recommendation for this unit is 300 lbs.. personally if i was bigger than 240 i wouldnt get one..

  • @partyongarth420 Yea the screw ones look scary...I'd prefer this over them.

  • @DJ80s It works as a cantilever so all of the force you exert is focused into the sides of the door frame. The trim just holds it in place. It's sturdy as hell, mate. It can support around 300lbs.

  • My wife got me one of these off amazon. its nice! havent seen any damage on my door. Bless God. oh yea and it came with a ab roller, and push up handles that rotate 360. check it out on amazon.

  • I've been using mine for almost a year and the door frame looks as if nothing has rested on it. It's a great tool.

  • does this mess up or damage the door frame at all?

  • Is the the overhand wide grip best for working the chest also or is there another way that also benefits the chest? Or is this just primarily work biceps and triceps. Sorry for stupid question. :/

  • @huntermcmillian pull ups are mostley for your back. it reaches your biceps as a secondary muscle. dips are for your chest. and reaches triceps as secondary

  • If you will go down slower when you do pull ups it will help a lot

  • Lol I got one for exactly 20 dollars. awesome. love it.

  • How hard on the trim is it? It looks like all your weight is on that one little tiney top piece of door trim. (And if it is, wouldn't that damage or snap the trim?)

  • so is it possible to lose belly fat by doin pull ups?

  • this is ok for back/arms but it wont give you a nice chest at all

  • @ThaGiver uhh... use it correctly and it will

  • use it on the floor for wide pressups then u'l feel ur chest, get stronger, if you want size hit the gym and benchpress

  • @ThaGiver Well that's not true at all. If done correctly pullups can have similar effects to pushups, and even bench pressing.

  • @CaseRed0605 If done correctly?? How do you do pullups?

  • @airwingmarine1979 its true. you do controlled negatives.

  • @CaseRed0605 oh really then I guess I'll just throw away my bench and only do pullups, since it's pretty much the same thing. that's why powerlifters and bodybuilders alike only do pullups. do a little research before making a fool of yourself. everyone's an expert on YouTube, must be magic.

  • my friend keeps sayin u can lose belly fat from doin pull ups

  • i have the same thing 20 bucks at walmart

  • Do what indoors? Pullups? Not everyone has unlimited options available to them so sometimes you take what you can get.

  • Man, I'm scared my parents will get mad if I buy this because they say it will brake the wooden panel on the door... not too sure though.... I want to do more pull-ups though.... How can I get more information about this?

  • IT WONT BRAKE IT

  • @NDF211Gunner it wont brake it if ur under 130kg(286lbs)

  • how to u put it on the door

  • No it's not a screw on, that's the great thing about it.. you can just hang it up and tak it down in one second...

  • How much does it cost? And can it double for a gymnastics bar (kinda)?

  • $30 at Target. Assembly takes 5 minutes.

  • @7893458 20 bucks at ross or 30 at walmart and target

  • $32.50 at Modell's

  • before i got a bar of my own i could only do 2...but now that i have one it has only been a week and i can do 6

  • Hey i'm thinking of geting one, but i wanted to know if it works out ur trapezius? I don't want to look like I have no neck, so i'm scared if i get it and start doing pull ups like crazy it may have this effect. If so what should i stay away from, if i do not want to work those muscles? really appreciate it

  • @marceltennis idk man i used it alot and i still have a really good neck

  • My experience may be A-typical but mine just fell off the door resulting in a back injury and a possible concussion. I will be screwing that thing into the frame as soon as my back stops spazzing. Be careful, I'm a dang ole fool who constantly injures himself doing stupid stunts but still, watch yourself, don't get over confident in the bar.

  • the iron gym is a great pull up bar and you start to see results in a couple weeks... maybe less

  • pleaz cheak out my vid its can you do more? 52 pull ups?

  • for anyone thinking of getting this i suggest you get it! it gives you a great workout and you see progress in about 2-3 weeks

  • i just bought it.... im only 12 so its kinda hard for me but i can already feel the change in your workout. push ups are more effective too. its more challenging than just doing curls and push ups.

  • This is no nonsense, pure workouts for like $40. It's awesome.

  • @Charles2337

just got one from marshals for 12.99 dont spend 40 ..

  • I love my bar... I noticed an enormous strength gain just after a couple weeks

  • Is there any risk of the door bar snapping off?
