I saw one of your books and I was amazed to see that It wasn't done with bold ink like I see in most mangas. I hope to make a comic book someday although I don't know what kind of paper you're supposed to use and what kind of media one could use (pencil, pen, etc). Are the panels also done with just pencil?

@ChiropteranCecilia i think its pencil 1st for sketching/rough draft then trace with the pen ( a certain pen i think)

and once the pen ink dries, erase the pencil marks

and what i do after that, scan them to clean it a bit more

first off..her lips arent even big..they look more realistic if anything..but note..this is phase 1..as he said..after this..he would scan it then finalize it in photoshop. most likely doing finalized lines, and speech bubbles, ect.

You're right. The only thing I could say is that a manga is like a japanese version of comic books, and Anime is their version of tv. There are some Anime without Manga, and vice/ virsa. They are EXTREMELY rare though for anime.

When I first saw this, I was thinking, "Why are her lips so big?" Now I think I get why. First, it makes her stand out and second, it gives her something different from everyone else. So you get to have more fun by having some characters have certain physical qualities that others don't. That's pretty cool!

I was doing shading like this, then going in and adding more in photoshop, but the magic wand tool keeps wanting to select every single little pencil stroke. I've ended up having to do all shading and coloring with brushes in PS, which is more difficult and takes longer. How do you get the magic wand to select areas instead of strokes?
