With an open mind any classic in flames fan should like up to 'soundtrack' and then be skeptical because they kinda lost it. The new album is some what a return to form but nothing quite as imaginative as the 'old' In Flames!
what an amazing album.... was it mixed on an analog console?? any information on the mix?? its really boomy compared to the others... and the guitars.. has the really live twin guitar balance.,..

absolutely what i think. my big problem at the moment is just that i know there's lots of poetric (hope the word exists, german, sorry :D) meanings in it, i just don't really understand the messages behind. would like to have a nice talk about it, seriously. i'm not very convinced by those people calling in flames melodic death metal, but it fits (especially with the albums up to soundtrack to your escape, i'd say) the best. their style also evolves very much from album to album.
Man, Whoracle is my favorite In Flames album of all time. Up to Clayman they're pure class. Reroute to Remain was kinda OK and rest after it, in my own humble opinion, is utter crap. Jesper is far more creative for what they're doing now.

If anyone thinks this is untrue, they need to start learning lyrics and stop mindlessly rocking. Which is nice too, but there is so much hidden i their writing. I study them routinely. I hope to be as powerfully subtle as them one day. They always have something moving to say about society or life or love or freedom or rage or governing systems or destruction or creation or integrity.etc
