  • Saw John Mayall in Guildford last year – and spoke to him after the gig. He's 77 now and still brilliant. It's a pity Buddy Whittington has left the Bluesbreakers – he's up there with Clapton, Green and Taylor without a doubt.

  • listen until 1:30...... and he's doin' it whit a Strat. I let image you what he can do in terms of Zep with a Les Paul.....

  • @terzolilu WTF? What's wrong with the Strat? That is how a guitar should sound!

  • @1810mx Nothing at all my friend ! I'm a huge strat fan and I got one! And I do not have gibson. I was just sayin that he is playin' classic Les Paul phrasing! Jimmy page style !

  • This Buddy guy is crawling up my list of favs very quickly!

  • @LordSauceness haha, "Buddy guy"

  • @bobmango54 Lmao.... I never even caught that!

  • Great job, Buddy!--and there's nothing like a good harp player to back ya up!

  • Wow. That's freakin tone.

  • Buddy Whittington is a class act!!

  • Nearly all of his solos in this song are ripped from somewhere else! Obviously he's covering SRV here, but the beginning is ripped from Led Zeppelin - Heartbreaker. At 6:05 he's ripping off Bill Doggett - Honky Tonk. And I'm sure many of the other licks are from other songs too.

  • @MrAtomicHearse You are an idiotard

  • saw these masters at hereford in england ( not wales) totally awesome

  • great tribute to Jimmy Page in the biginnin'

  • Buddy is First Class World Music !

  • greg rzab on the bass?

  • damn, that is awesome!!!!!

  • Anyone in the mood for some Labor Day Weekend Blues?

Here's Buddy Whittington from Bedford, Tx when he used to play with John Mayall.

  • i agree buddy aint behind nobody, seems like a personable guy unlike some of these hotshots playin a million notes. buddy kicks ass

  • making heartbreaker look easy =\

  • so 2 Buddys play some superb blues. I saw the Bluesbreakers in '69 and Mick Taylor, who was still a teenager at the time, tore the Rose Palace to pieces. Oh, and Albert King played that night. He ripped a hole in the space-time continuum.

  • who's da dude playin harp?...lol...

  • @WYGIWIN Da dude is John Mayall, here in 2004 he is 71 years old and rockin...

  • @Bluesman12345 and STILL rockin in 2010 xD

  • @Bluesman12345 ...I like , I can't agree more ...I think "that dude" also has been influential in the careers of many instrumentalists, including Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Don "Sugarcane" Harris, Harvey Mandel, Larry Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Hughie Flint, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser, Johnny Almond, Rick Cortes, Jon Mark, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya, and Buddy Whittington.

  • @WYGIWIN yeah...i know...was just kiddin' :)

  • @WYGIWIN whats funny fanny lips?

  • @WYGIWIN - The great John Mayall. Other guitarists to come through his band have included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Peter Green, and Mick Taylor, to name a few.

  • Very nice

  • hi

the first time i saw him on scene i am felt down on my ass

awesome bluesman i like very so much

  • IMO would not put him "behind" anyone, Buddy IS the man!

  • This man is only behind Gary Moore when it comes to the blues, best in the world.

  • amazing chops

  • He is pretty incredible, and he does practice!

  • He's the BEST!

  • Surely my favour top ten blues guitar player!!!

  • This man can play.

  • Love his Heartbreaker solo!!!! - electric fingers!!!
