have been reading for 3 years how Congress fleeced the Tax Payers. Vote them out after 1term the solution. Why? To collect a bloated pension? Replaced by the same. Hell, I wouldn't care what American's thought with this waiting after 4 years. These guys aren't so dumb after all. It's the Americans playing into this Conspiracy. They are laughing all the way to the bank costing tax payers billions. Go Figure!
I offer what they are unable. A one word Solution "Revolution".
this is fantastic a civilized and educated conversation between two people with different political views. Take note people. Much respect to you Stephen A. Smith and of course to the Great One
"we all know racism exists to some degree, but to act as if it is as prevalent as it was years and decades ago is completely untrue and it serves to divide this nation, which i think is a catastrophic thing." BULLSEYE, Steven.
Unfortunately, people who just have a hard-drive hatred for conservatives are going to refuse to listen to you when you say that, but many really need to hear it.
@welovesarahpalin: What you don't realize is that if Obama was black, but with an R next to his name, that same percentage would vote against him. Black people don't vote against white people, they vote against Republicans, who they truly despise. That Obama was a black Democrat just served as a bonus incentive for blacks to vote against McCain and the GOP.
MAYBE LEVIN AND RUSH WILL LET HIM SHINE THEIR SHOES SINCE HE IS SUCKING THEM OFF SO HARD HE IS A TOTAL IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW I QUESTION WHAT HE SAYS IN SPORTS
@peetyg101 you question what he says about sports because he analyzes the events around him and makes rational decisions about those events? use your brain, not caps lock.
@dart1285 I normally would not use caps. I was upset. If him or Levin are so smart and they have the answer to americas problems (as Levin says everyday) then why dont they run for President and fix this great country?
I understand how people were upset over the government take over of AIG, Fannie & Freddie (even though we were already subsidizing them before), etc etc. But let's face it, years and years of financial deregulation led to this collapse. Things like this don't just happen for no reason. Pick your poison. Ask yourself, would you rather be buried in debt with 10% unemployment, or have the whole economy vaporized and taking us back to the 1930s?? Sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils.
@soulchild3751 Your last assertion is a false choice. Neither you nor I nor anyone else knows whether those are the only two options.
As for the deregulation you mentioned, what the REGULATION that forced banks to make loans to people who couldn't afford to pay them back? Thank you, Barney Frank. :-(
@soulchild3751 the thing is that people constantly blame the private sector of "raping" the economy, or these big business with their insanely rich executives being corrupt and causing financial collapses, but why does no one realize that the government in and of itself is a big business and is just as (but more likely more) corrupt than any business in the private sector. Politicians lie, politicians put their financial well being before that of the people they serve, they are worse and
@soulchild3751 more corrupt than the private sector, but at least if the private sector has control, the people can turn to the government and demand that certain regulations be created, whereas if the government has all the financial control there is no means of stopping what they do. I've had quarrels with legislation and have put in great amounts of effort to contact my representatives only to leave messages that are never returned. When government gains power they do not give it up.
"years and years of financial deregulation led to this collapse"
WHAT deregulation?
The CRA, signed by Carter in 1979 and put on steroids by the Clinton administration, led directly to 3 decades of affirmative-action lending - to the tune of $4 trillion in subprime loans. It gave "community action" groups veto power over bank decisions, mergers, credit guidelines, expansions, etc.
Social policy replaced fiscal policy in banking institutions. This was no accident.
Even though Stephen didn't really give him a chance, kudos to Mark for letting him speak unfiltered for so long. Many interviews don't do that and the segment suffers.
That first statement is dead on and Mark is right, I would vote for him in a heartbeat, and he can win too because he resonates with people. You would never have to guess where he stood on an issue. People like an honest Man with firm beliefs. Let's just say if he was President he would.. to quote him "Handle his business"
THIS! racist smith clown will be! HELD! responsible along with the other uneducated welfare trash democrats who voted this soetoro crack head! as president!
@amilkar1964 first off people have a right to complain. Second the govt. Is suppose to be the servants of the people and critizism is part of the package. 3rd I don't think you realize how hard to get a party nomination is and how much funding it takes.
I worked the summer of '08 for the water company and a lot of people stopped paying their bills in low income neighborhoods because "obama was gonna take care of it." Misleading people to a point they believe they were going to get handouts in exchange for a vote is why he will be a one term president.
Wow, what a sell out! Obama lowered taxes for 95% of Americans, so "more money in their pockets." Government-run health care? Last I checked, I still need to buy from a private insurer. And racism? "Obama's a Muslim, he wasn't born here, he has a Kenyan, anti-colonialism world view, blah blah blah." You think all this crap would be said about a white president.
Oh, and I guess it's fine to bail out Wall Street, but step in to help the workers at GM and your a Socialist. Steven A. is a joke.
@hokieb01 YOU ARE A RACIST!!! Let me succinctly explain to you why. How come you deem Stephen A. Smith to be a "sell out"? Because he's Black? How on earth you HATERS on the Left ever decided it was fine to disallow any Black American to be a conservative is one of the great mysteries of the universe.
@welovesarahpalin@welovesarahpalin I wasn't referring to his race. I was referring to the fact that Stephen A. says he grew up in a Democratic household, claims to have proudly voted for Obama, yet spews Republican talking points on this fringe loon's talkshow. How can one subscribe to Levin's mindset and still have cast a vote for Obama? Seriously, Levin can't go 2 minutes without calling Obama a Marxist, Socialist tyrant, and Stephen A. is Levin's biggest fan? Sure he i$.
@hokieb02 I don't think you paid attention to the interview. Did you miss the part where he said he voted for Obama and didn't agree with everything Levin said until Obama started doing massive take overs?
@hokieb01 Obama did not lower taxes. He gave tax relief, which means if you owed taxes it was slightly lowered. However, if you did not owe taxes, you still paid the same as last year.
@l1nuxun1l He cut taxes for 95 percent of working families. Under the stimulus bill, single workers got $400, and working couples got $800. You may have noticed a small bump on your paycheck.
@hokieb02 I've seen Leftists like you repeat the "He cut taxes for 95 percent of working families" over & over. This fundamentally didn't ring true so I just searched these terms: obama cut taxes myth
Sure enough, you're just repeating yet another lie of the Obama Administration. You've been duped my friend.
@hokieb02. Dude please don't be an idiot. The Bush era tax cuts from 2001 are being kept in place by Obama and his party is already looking at raising taxes for the "upper class". Where are you getting you're garbage info?
What a pleasant surprise that interview was! We need more like Mr Smith to speak out and just call it like they see it, the good, the bad and the ugly of politics. He is at least open minded enough as a Democrat to at least listen to the ideas of the conservatives, soooo many refuse to even listen. Bravo Mr Smith!!
Stephen A. Smith has a valid point on conversatives and liberals, but there's also whites out there tha twould NEVER vote for a black president and CLEARY voted for McCain cause he is white, plain and simple.
@TheDarkmaleX You mean like 95%+ of Black Americans who would NEVER vote for a white president given Obama as the alternative choice? You sir, are a hypocrite.
@TheDarkmaleX ..you are the very cause for the divide..As Mr Smith stated..Obama got 52% of the popular vote..so THAT alone dispells that rhetoric. The problem was, that Americans that voted for him (all races), voted believing his Change and Hope mantra..BUT he misrepresented his plans for this country ,and now, people that voted for him, feel lied to and deceived. Contrary to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson..this has NOTHING to do with race and everything to do with his POLICIES!!
@longpassion8kiss True, True, True, & True! I don't know about you, but there's nothing more destructive I've seen in America in the past 25 years than this constant screaming of "Racism" by those on the Left when debating someone who disagrees with them and soon realizing that they, the Leftist, is losing the argument. It's so incredibly divisive and not helpful. I would encourage everyone to Google for "Uncle Sam's Plantation" by Star Parker, a brilliant woman!
@TheDarkmaleX O'bama won the presidency because of the WHITE vote! A higher % of whites voted for O'bama, than Blacks voted for McCain. O'bama does not become president without the liberal and independent white vote! So it could be said, that it was the minority voters who displayed racial bias in that election!
I'm a fan!! Stephen has a wonderful brain!!! I hope he can reach other black people w/ his intellect! It's sad that so many blacks have been indoctrinated via the carrot and stick lies. So sad!!
@19770326 He is a dissapointment. I think because he doesn't have his show and he is rarely seen now in the realm of sports, he is trying to be seen or be heard by whoever will listen to him. I am not comfortable with a lot of Obamas policies, but I was more uncomfortable with Bushes policies. Steve A. Smith would never say that to Mark Levin. Unless he truly doesn't see what the Republicans had done the previos 8 years.
@as26370 Let's imagine someone has two products, A & B. Let's say that after trying out both products for awhile, he has issues with both. Now, if that person is invited to express his displeasure with Product B, how on earth can you possibly discount his comments simply because YOU haven't heard his comments on Product B?!?
This man is someone I am proud aligning my viewpoints with. He is more of a conservative, & more of what a Republican should be than almost anyone in the party right now. RUN FOR SOMETHING STEPHEN!
That was a great point he made about Vick paying his debt to society and being held accountable for his act of foolishness he committed and that we should move forward. I totally 100% agree.
i respect anyone of any color who has a comment to make thats based on knowledge not picking a side, im a conservative and i can tell you that people like this scare the fuck out of liberals like nancy pelosi and barack obama, they get their bread based on making people hate other people and i dont hate people for having a real opinion...i do hate people who dont know shit however and try to pretend that because they watch tv they know something, wether they are liberal or conservative
stephen smith is an asshole and was one of the guys who called Rush a racist and said he shouldn't be able to buy the football team.. hypocrite at best is what smith is.
wow, I'm surprised that Stephen A. had this viewpoint. I hope he's prepared for the attacks and name-calling from the left with the Uncle Tom stuff and I hope he can weather it because it's coming. I know, I've been there. Anytime a person of color either unhitch from the liberal/democrat wagon or was never hitched to it you are a target for the left. Bully for you Stephen A.
the word ''PROGRESSIVE'' is being used because the PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT IS THE BIGGEST THREAT THIS COUNTRY HAS EVER FACED... from inside our gov't... and the time to learn what it means is now.. if we do not.. we will all be slaves, black and white..... This is not about BLACK OR WHITE.. this is about taking over our country and changing our Constitution..
Black conservatives are some of the most courageous individuals around. They are savaged and ridiculed by the large majority of the black liberals; called sellouts and Uncle Toms. Youll never see any on the network news stations because black articulate conservatives are the statists worst nightmare; they expose the race baiters for what they are.
Steven A. Smith is an absolute champion! For 10 minutes there, Mark was the audience and Steven was the host! Mark was absoluety speechless and so was I. The most articulate and direct diagnosis of politics in America was just explained to us by a sports journalist. Lol I love this guy
STEPHEN A FOR PREZ! Not only does he tell u what he thinks.. he tells u why he thinks the way he does.. he doesn't just scream off a cliff I LOVE OBAMA or I HATE OBAMA.. smith is a born leader..
I was a guilty racist, and my crime was voting with my heart and not my mind. I was a historic racist, in the sense that I wanted someone of a non-white profile, to become a U.S. President. And I was a racist for not realizing, that is not about the color of one's skin, but the content of one's character. I see no difference in Bush and Obama. They are both fruadian puppets.
" If you feel guilt over your history, then don't let it rot the future of your mind, rewind, then press play. " - Jay
@slaughery you know many people say us black people voted for Obama because he is black and I understand it seems that way but the fact have been that most non whites including Jews vote 80% Democrat and thats been a Republican problem that they don't wont to face.
@slaughery I agree, and I'm black...Most black folks that I know couldn't even tell you the VPs name, or any general knowledge about the US government structure...But they voted blindly for Obama...LoL...What you need to realize slaughery is that it's only racist if are ethnocentric and are 'white'...What a hypocrisy...You can think political correctness and feeble minds for all of this nonsense.
@chrisx2k6 I'm a white fella, a Canadian actually, living in Vancouver, BC. I'll NEVER forget how a Chinese-Canadian friend of mine once said to me with absolute seriousness: "Well, I can't be a racist because I'm not white." That pretty much sums up the rampant stupidity & ignorance of so many.
@sfcphilip Yeah...We are ignorant...Absolutely...I deal with black people as much as you do, so don't come at me like I'm clueless...Oh, and yeah, whites are afraid...Afraid of being called 'racisss' and shouldn't give a damn what blacks like you think about it when the truth is being told..I have no further use for you.
@chrisx2k6 Look, I am not going to let this escalate into some ridiculous name calling episode. Let me explain, even though you didn't ask, why I support Obama. I believe in regulatory, responsible government. Notice I didn't say big government. A lot of these tea baggers holler about tax cuts, smaller government, power to the people, yada, yada. However, they don't want for the power to be with me and you. They want for the power to be with big oil, big banks and Wall Street. There's more....
@chrisx2k6 Look, I was making a point about ignorance. Most whites are not cowards. However, extreme, right wing, conservative nut jobs are racist cowards!!! I stand by that and I stand by President Obama even though I don't agree with him on every issue.
@slaughery It's not blacks; it's poor blacks. And the big problem is that they are poor and forced to go to public schools. Those schools are run by unions and liberals who have no respect for freedom or capitalism. They learn that the way to get ahead is to "organize" and "stand up" rather than "work" or "innovate." The public school system has done more damage to the black community than welfare and racism combined.
@darwinkilledgod It should also be pointed out that when changes are attempted to be made to the public school system the Teachers' Unions and their Democrat politician puppets fight such changes every step of the way!
@welovesarahpalin Very true. The head of the national teachers union was just interviewed by Nick Gillespie of Reason TV and asked whether parents should have a choice in which school their child goes to. She said, "All parents deserve a good school" or some nonsense when translated into "no".
@darwinkilledgod I asked a hardcore Democrat friend of mine in Chicago why her party doesn't support Charter schools. She had no answer. Had she tried to bluff her way through that question and say that Democrats do, I have countless news stories available that prove they do not. It's one of the perils of being in the pocket of public sector unions.
@welovesarahpalin Same issue here in WA state. I am helping to pay for my niece to go to a private school which has 7 kids for every one teacher. The failure public school was at 32 kids per teacher. My niece is much happier and actually learning now that she has been able to get away from the cattle style teaching.
@darwinkilledgod I went to public school systems in Virginia in the 80s and mid 90s until my parents put me private school. Public school was a fucking joke. A building from 1927 in the inter city where I was bused 30 miles each way.
@darwinkilledgod Being in law enforcement and living amongst blacks for years they have far greater problems then the glorified daycare centers known as public schools. The generally live in bad neighborhoods, over 60% grow up without a father, they are taught racism, they are physically abused at all ages, they show up to school without books, they sleep in the classroom and their single moms take little interest in their childrens education.
@Warpath2198 All problems, I agree. But parental choice will make good schools even if some parents don't care; just as people like me who don't know anything can still get a good one because the people who do know have already selected out the bad ones. Lack of fathers is a huge problem, but that stems in part from men not earning much - which is caused partly by the schools again. I'd sleep in those schools too...they're boring.
@ndc18 many kids are sexually abused especially females. No I have just seen rampant physical abuse among the blacks. Hell even stand up comics talk about it.
@slaughery They voted for him just because he's a democrat. roughly the same percentage of blacks voted for Obama as they did for Kerry, Gore, Clinton, etc.
There's is no liberty in America for many. Stephen A has forgotten where he came from . He knows that wealth is and has always been concentrated in the hands of a few and these people are no longer in the mood to invest in America and it's people. Many are now outsourcing their work to China and other cheap labor areas where the worker's rights are violated. Actually many have no rights and than these same business men are selling these goods back to Americans for huge profits. You and Steve
@xo4ty Yeah anyone that listens and digs for truth would have known Stephen A is not what you thought he was.....don't assume all blacks fit your stereotype. Fuck Obama he is killing us universal hcare, gay rights, don't ask don't tell, what about the middle class? How about the right to remain silent?
That doesn't make since AA is about getting the opportunity so if they give a million white guys a tryout and they don't make a team then that's the player's fault If they play and are not good then the nba would loose all their money and be defunct. So now that's taking away from those white team owners who make billions of dollars more than the players.
That wouldn't be Affirmative Action, Cynide. All affirmative action does is "occasionally" give the edge to the minority or the woman in an otherwise even split scenerio. Not to mention, the NBA, and the NFL for that matter, used to be all white.
It amazes me how so many in the modern U. S. media miss the mark, or perhaps intentionally do so. Why are people so afraid of the very government they wish everyone to pledge allegiance to? Why pay lipservice to government instead of making it work better? Government is only as good as the people. It is a reflection. If you are mudded, so it shall be.
The growth of the U.S. Government is out of control. The workers therein are controlled & protected by unions. In the same way that some companies have gone bankrupt because of all too powerful unions, so is the government on the same path ... but wait, the government can't technically go out of business, can it?!
In a way, you're right. American government is malfunctioning because of the poor quality of representatives and candidates for office. This is why turnout for elections is so low. This is why conservatives stayed home and forfeited the election to the Dems in 06 and 08. This is why America is so proud to see Americans standing up for their rights at tea parties and town halls. This is why so many Americans that had not been political before are now eager to support conservatives in 2010.
wow most random duo ever...i was listening to Mark Levin on the radio this evening and Steven A Smith was on wow was i surprised. Ive never liked him but hey if this man is one of US, more power to US.
Atleast he's honest about why he voted for Obama. I agree with him with many points. I'm black and I didn't vote for him, unlike many Obama supporters who voted on "change".
Diversity: putting incompetent people in high places while robbing the birth right of those who have worked hard and made the requisite sacrifices to merit such positions.
All based on promoting and celebrating unchangeable traits while denigrating and discouraging those who make the right choices and do the right thing...
Affirmative action promotions, hate crime legislation, political correct censorship, socialism, energy taxes, punishing success while celebrating failure... the left SUCKS!!
The worst part of all is how such a philosophy keeps Black Americans mired in an endless cycle of Permanent Victim Mentality.
Imagine a family with twin boys. One is treated in a traditional conservative manner: hard work will overcome adversity and ensure success.
The other is treated in a modern liberal manner: don't be accountable, don't try to be the best, just cry "I'm a victim" whenever you're not getting your way.
Hey Welovesarahpalin, I respectfully disagree w/ your argument on the Permanent Victim Mentality of Black Americans. A consevative vs. liberal philosophy does not answer the plight in a vacuum. One must ask if hard work provides equal access for anyone irregardless of color. This country has never meant that objective, nor does it intend to. As long as major institutions are controlled by mainstream society, the idea of hardwork will only benefit certain people, not others.
I don't know if you're black or white or yellow or green but your words are laced with precisely the PV Mentality I spoke of. I have plenty of friends of every ethnicity & color. NONE of them go around thinking that they can't achieve as much as the other guy. This includes my Black American friends, some of whom have risen very high in the business world.
Perhaps you didn't mean to, but your entire missive exemplifies the soft prejudice of low expectations. I found it sad.
My viewpoint is not based on soft prejudice, but reality. Your making an implication that a so called PV Mentality is fueled only by African Americans. However, what u fail to realize is that this country is based upon institutions based on capitalism and politics. Whether public or private enterprise, those institutions have never been controlled by people of color, creating a mainstream powerbase that only gives tepid opportunites to people not like them. Sounds like a Superiority Mentality.
With the greatest of respect, please don't attribute implications to me that I've never made. In the case of Black Americans, I believe the PV Mentality has been successfully fueled by 2 groups: White Democrat politicians and Black leaders (Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton being 2 good examples).
You besmirch capitalism but it has provided more opportunities & wealth for more people than any other political system in the history of the world.
Please do test your own thesis: How is it that Asians and even many Latinos have succeeded so very well in America without controlling the institutions of power you spoke of?
As for me, there is zero Superiority Mentality in my mind, heart, or soul. I simply don't believe that telling a young boy or girl (of any color) that they have less ability or opportunity than anyone else is a formula for success.
Asians have a work ethic that's far superior than western culture. Successful Latinos, yes, but many of them experience the same PV Mentality that African Americans suffer.
In regard to your second viewpoint, who exactly is telling these kids that they have less ability or opportunity? Is it the parents or is it Madison Aveune? I think its a combination of both with more influence by the latter. Madison Avenue has always been controlled by a conservative agenda, something to think about.
You have a worldview full of generalizations that I'm never going to dissuade you of, no matter if I spent the next 10 years on here. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.
But as someone who has HUNDREDS of Asian friends, I hope you understand that your initial statement is very racist. You might describe it as "positive racism", but you are still attributing all members of a group with a shared trait.
And trust me, there are some very lazy Asian people too ... for some are my friends!
My viewpoint on Asians is not racist at all. It's been proven that they tend to be more aggressive in learning from infancy to adulthood than western society. That's not a racist statement, but a compliment of respect.
You're correct to say that we just have to agree to disagree on different worldviews of debate. However, I find it sad and suspicious that your not willing to speak formerly about the role of conservativism. Judging by your responses, a conservative is exactly who u are.
This will be the last time I'll continue this "debate" with you because I simply don't have any more time to devote to it.
It is ABSOLUTELY racist to assign a given trait to all members of a racial group. You can pretend that your views towards Asians isn't racist but it is, even if we agree it is complimentary.
@welovesarahpalin It is not racist to identify trends within groups...It would be "RACISSS" if one tried to apply these characteristics to an individual without further inspection...However, profiling/stereotyping tend to be true, for the most part, in depicting the general nature of groups...Quit trying to identify everybody as a racist to try and boost you're own argument...Anybody with a mind can see past this tactic.
I'll agree w/ u that the PV Mentality is fueled by white Democrats and certain black leaders. However, I submit to u that white conservatives are the most responsible for such a paradigm to exist. The good old boy mentality is synonymous w/ a status quo that has traditionally excluded people of color from the upper echelons of society. The backbone of the conservative agenda is that status quo or tradition.
Capitalism may be the best system in the world, but still flawed in application.
@welovesarahpalin your absolutly right about the two groups that try to further the PV way of thinking.there is alot of money in race baiting cough...cough...al sharpton, jessy jackson.
What unbridled madness you spout. This is why we have come against those kind of thoughts en masse and driven them into the realm of nonsense where they belong. We are not equal under the law. Perhaps in the bright future, where such benighted text never occurs, but not now. Affirmative action seeks to redress social ills, not rob anyone of anything. If you can't understand that, then you deserve to fail.
The word "progressive" is constantly abused by many. Can someone be progressive if they happen to disagree with you?
Let me pose a question to you directly from my Black friends: They strongly feel that affirmative action is demeaning to them and don't want to be treated under some sort of special category. So I have little doubt they would say to you, "Why do you support policies that continue to portray us as victims?"
By forcing policies that seek to equal races you fail to realize by doing this, the government is thereby telling us that blacks for instance are handicapped and less of then whites. In the firefighter case.. to say that hispanics need a different test than whites or that is situated to fit both.. that is saying hispanics are at a disadvantage due to their skin color. If you can't understand that, you deserve to fail.
@Dyakki Everbody is equal under the law. Too bad that you have to racialize what an American espouses to be bad government. Your life is what you make it. And if you start with a negative attitude, your end is negative. Blame nobody but yourself when you have more opportunity than your neighbor.
After the Jim Crow Laws ended and control of the Democratic party was in the hands of the liberal Northern Democrats, the vast majority of the Southern Democrats defected into the Republican Party. Its and easy fact to research.
The southern "democrats" were with the conservative right wing from the civil war to 1960.
Those Souther Dems all changed over to GOP when Lindon B Johnson pushed civil rights -- Newt Gingrich, Lott, Haley Barber, Bob Barr, there is a list a mile long,
I am really suprized to hear this from Mr. Smith. I have always liked him from the time I heard him criticize some of the NBA players. This is somewhat refreshing however I am disappointed that with all this knowledge he voted for Obama. In his own words, even though he knew Obama was a radical he voted for him anyway? Make no mistake about it, Smith isn't a conservative, but he could be by the end of Obama's ONE term. We can only hope.
Fingers crossed that this is a preview of how whites and blacks will coexist in the future. If you're a hater, of any color, please do it someplace else and leave the rest of us in peace.
Leftist race-hustlers have driven America's race relations back 40 years with their insistence on protecting the incompetent impostor occupying the White House.
Joe, the Rabid Left - of which 'thafix82' is a charter member - fall into one of two categories:
1. Those addicted to the Opium of Entitlements.
2. Those giving out those entitlements, knowing that they're buying loyalty.
The GOP has lost its way of late but true conservatives adamantly believe that the only thing they can & should dispense is Liberty and the right for everyone to Pursue their own Happiness. Leftists will NEVER be able to understand this concept and why it is superior.
Mr. I Don't Know How To Use the SHIFT Key returns with more brilliance . . .
After stating that he wants Black & White Americans to hate each other, he now claims that it's really the rest of us who feel this way.
Then he goes on to blame the disastrous social engineering policies of the Democrat Party on Republicans!
The only thing I can't figure out is how low a person's IQ would have to be to think that Republican policies are what has shaped Chicago. 80? 70? 40?
Truths to his black friends and family.

Sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils.
soulchild3751 1 year ago
@soulchild3751 Your last assertion is a false choice. Neither you nor I nor anyone else knows whether those are the only two options.
As for the deregulation you mentioned, what the REGULATION that forced banks to make loans to people who couldn't afford to pay them back? Thank you, Barney Frank. :-(
welovesarahpalin 1 year ago 4
@soulchild3751 the thing is that people constantly blame the private sector of "raping" the economy, or these big business with their insanely rich executives being corrupt and causing financial collapses, but why does no one realize that the government in and of itself is a big business and is just as (but more likely more) corrupt than any business in the private sector. Politicians lie, politicians put their financial well being before that of the people they serve, they are worse and
adubs187 1 year ago
@soulchild3751 more corrupt than the private sector, but at least if the private sector has control, the people can turn to the government and demand that certain regulations be created, whereas if the government has all the financial control there is no means of stopping what they do. I've had quarrels with legislation and have put in great amounts of effort to contact my representatives only to leave messages that are never returned. When government gains power they do not give it up.
adubs187 1 year ago
@soulchild3751

Once again, I repeat: You are a RACIST!!!
welovesarahpalin 1 year ago
@welovesarahpalin @welovesarahpalin I wasn't referring to his race. Sure he i$.
Nice projection.

Contrary to the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson..this has NOTHING to do with race and everything to do with his POLICIES!!

@longpassion8kiss True, True, True, & True! sfcphilip 1 year ago
@slaughery It's not blacks; it's poor blacks. And the big problem is that they are poor and forced to go to public schools. Those schools are run by unions and liberals who have no respect for freedom or capitalism. They learn that the way to get ahead is to "organize" and "stand up" rather than "work" or "innovate." The public school system has done more damage to the black community than welfare and racism combined.
darwinkilledgod 1 year ago
@darwinkilledgod It should also be pointed out that when changes are attempted to be made to the public school system the Teachers' Unions and their Democrat politician puppets fight such changes every step of the way!
welovesarahpalin 1 year ago
@welovesarahpalin Very true. The head of the national teachers union was just interviewed by Nick Gillespie of Reason TV and asked whether parents should have a choice in which school their child goes to. She said, "All parents deserve a good school" or some nonsense when translated into "no".
darwinkilledgod 1 year ago
@darwinkilledgod I asked a hardcore Democrat friend of mine in Chicago why her party doesn't support Charter schools. She had no answer. Had she tried to bluff her way through that question and say that Democrats do, I have countless news stories available that prove they do not. It's one of the perils of being in the pocket of public sector unions.
welovesarahpalin 1 year ago
@welovesarahpalin Same issue here in WA state. I am helping to pay for my niece to go to a private school which has 7 kids for every one teacher. The failure public school was at 32 kids per teacher. My niece is much happier and actually learning now that she has been able to get away from the cattle style teaching.

@darwinkilledgod I went to public school systems in Virginia in the 80s and mid 90s until my parents put me private school. Public school was a fucking joke. A building from 1927 in the inter city where I was bused 30 miles each way.
Warpath2198 1 year ago
@darwinkilledgod Being in law enforcement and living amongst blacks for years they have far greater problems then the glorified daycare centers known as public schools. The generally live in bad neighborhoods, over 60% grow up without a father, they are taught racism, they are physically abused at all ages, they show up to school without books, they sleep in the classroom and their single moms take little interest in their childrens education.
Warpath2198 1 year ago
@Warpath2198 All problems, I agree. But parental choice will make good schools even if some parents don't care; just as people like me who don't know anything can still get a good one because the people who do know have already selected out the bad ones. Lack of fathers is a huge problem, but that stems in part from men not earning much - which is caused partly by the schools again. I'd sleep in those schools too...they're boring.
Still, no argument from me.

Dyakki 2 years ago
The growth of the U.S. Government is out of control. The workers therein are controlled & protected by unions. In the same way that some companies have gone bankrupt because of all too powerful unions, so is the government on the same path ... but wait, the government can't technically go out of business, can it?!
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago
In a way, you're right. American government is malfunctioning because of the poor quality of representatives and candidates for office. This is why turnout for elections is so low. This is why conservatives stayed home and forfeited the election to the Dems in 06 and 08. This is why America is so proud to see Americans standing up for their rights at tea parties and town halls. This is why so many Americans that had not been political before are now eager to support conservatives in 2010.

Which boy will succeed?
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago
Good point, thanks for posting the video. 5 stars
Orbit915 2 years ago
@welovesarahpalin
As long as major institutions are controlled by mainstream society, the idea of hardwork will only benefit certain people, not others.
jazzzsexy 2 years ago
I don't know if you're black or white or yellow or green but your words are laced with precisely the PV Mentality I spoke of. I have plenty of friends of every ethnicity & color. NONE of them go around thinking that they can't achieve as much as the other guy. This includes my Black American friends, some of whom have risen very high in the business world.
Perhaps you didn't mean to, but your entire missive exemplifies the soft prejudice of low expectations. I found it sad.
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago
My viewpoint is not based on soft prejudice, but reality. Your making an implication that a so called PV Mentality is fueled only by African Americans. However, what u fail to realize is that this country is based upon institutions based on capitalism and politics. Whether public or private enterprise, those institutions have never been controlled by people of color, creating a mainstream powerbase that only gives tepid opportunites to people not like them. Sounds like a Superiority Mentality.
jazzzsexy 2 years ago

I simply don't believe that telling a young boy or girl (of any color) that they have less ability or opportunity than anyone else is a formula for success.
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago

And trust me, there are some very lazy Asian people too ... for some are my friends!
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago 3
My viewpoint on Asians is not racist at all. It's been proven that they tend to be more aggressive in learning from infancy to adulthood than western society. That's not a racist statement, but a compliment of respect.
You're correct to say that we just have to agree to disagree on different worldviews of debate. However, I find it sad and suspicious that your not willing to speak formerly about the role of conservativism. Judging by your responses, a conservative is exactly who u are.
jazzzsexy 2 years ago
This will be the last time I'll continue this "debate" with you because I simply don't have any more time to devote to it.
It is ABSOLUTELY racist to assign a given trait to all members of a racial group. You can pretend that your views towards Asians isn't racist but it is, even if we agree it is complimentary.
I agree I'm a conservative. Thank you.

"Birth right?" Birth right!? Entitlement much?
What unbridled madness you spout. This is why we have come against those kind of thoughts en masse and driven them into the realm of nonsense where they belong. We are not equal under the law. Perhaps in the bright future, where such benighted text never occurs, but not now. Affirmative action seeks to redress social ills, not rob anyone of anything. If you can't understand that, then you deserve to fail.
Dyakki 2 years ago
The word "progressive" is constantly abused by many. Can someone be progressive if they happen to disagree with you?
Let me pose a question to you directly from my Black friends: They strongly feel that affirmative action is demeaning to them and don't want to be treated under some sort of special category. So I have little doubt they would say to you, "Why do you support policies that continue to portray us as victims?"
welovesarahpalin 2 years ago 7

He doesn't work at ESPN anymore, that explains why they don't tolerate real people like him that speak their mind and isn't politicaly correct.

We're already loud. Can you imagine what it is going to be in 2010? In other words, they are just starting to piss us off.

Democrats run Detroit and Chicago. They've destroyed the major cities, they run them.
