  • Mine didn't work :( i used gel impasto medium ( which works with wood print transfer ) I used a acetate photograph, does the acetate print need to be wet ? The gel medium didnt grab the ink the acetate grabbed the paper lol

  • so is it easier to use a transparancy instead regular paper?

  • Is it only work with the plastic image ?

Magasin pisses paper is it working?

  • very cool. thanks :)

  • Sexy voice

  • Just found this- what a brilliant technique . WIll give it a try and see how it turns out for me.

    Thanks

  • Have you ever tried doing a transfer in color??

  • Thank you for showing me this method of transfer!

I've used it to transfer a couple of photos on to canvas boards, took a few experiments but it works great

  • Good, simple demo. EZ to understand and see demo'd. You're a sweetie-pie, as well. Thank you.

  • @1created1

    Thanks so much! :)

  • hello, I am doing a project that I would like to do image transfer on. Do think this technique will work on wood painted with acrylic? So essentially, would the image stick to acrylic? The acrylic has taken very well to the (gesso-ed) wood, but there is still that wood texture. Thank you =D

  • @nexxusrequiem You can do this on painted wood - you may still end up with a little bit of grain :) Have fun!

  • can you do the transfer on canvas?

  • Just found ya and I LOVE your video's, this looks amazing! You have a new subbie for sure. Be blessed!

  • we did gel medium transfers in my art class too but in a different way. we found magazine images that we liked and then put the gel medium over it (about 5~10 layers). after that we waited for it to dry and let it soak in water. then we scrubbed off the back (the side w/o gel medium) with our fingers. and all youre left with is the image on the gel medium! :]

and we sewed the images on fabric to create a sort of self portrait. it was fun, maybe you can try it

  • thank you, this is awsome! i will definetly use this technique

  • i enjoyed watching ur tutorial!btw i'm frm kuala lumpur, malaysia and was wondering what kind brand of gel medium u r using to transferred the image?i find it very difficult to search at any art supplier shop at my hometown.

  • Este video se detiene en 0:34, se dañó, poprque no avanza

  • great video, love your bubbly personality

  • love this! I have a photo of a crow sitting up on top of a 400 year old church spire from a cemetary in England....he stayed there just long enough for me to snap the photo and he was gone! But I just love the effect!

  • can we just use a printed image on paper?

  • I'm so glad I found your video!! My brother-in-laws birthday is coming up and he loves crows!!!! Can't wait to try it out!!!! :)

  • thanks so much for the demo! i recently purchased a canvas & some gel medium to make a friends birthday present. only problem was, as soon as i got home i forgot the instructions! your video demo really helped!!

  • @hannahloosschilder

Thank so much for your comment! I'm so happy my little demo helped you :)

  • Great project, thanks !!

  • oooh, I've never seen this done before! too cool Sarah, too cool!! I gotta try this girl!

    xoxo Jules :)

  • Hi,loved your tutorial! Just wondering what brand of transparency sheet you used please? Just want to make sure it works for me :)

  • Hello there :) I have an inkjet printer, so I made sure that I bought transparancy sheets made for that - I have used 2 or 3 different brands & they all worked pretty well. You can find them at most office supply stores. I haven't tried doing this using images printed on a laser printer, so I'm not sure how that works. I hope that helps :)

  • good

  • what surfaces can you do this transer on?

  • Hello there :)

So far I have done this technique on watercolour paper & canvas. I haven't tried any other surfaces yet.

  • the more gel medium you use... the better it comes out.

  • You really broke that down to seem very simple. I hope when I try your technique it goes so easily for me. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you for the tutorial. I can't wait to try this.

  • what kind of transparencies are you using? Are they specifically for inkjet printers?

  • Thanks so much for your question! I am using transparency sheets specifically for inkjet printers which I printed on my Epson printer at home :) Hope that helps!

  • Thanks so much for all your lovely comments! It's great to be 'back' again!

  • I enjoyed the tutorial so much. Isn't You Tube awesome? We can share our techniques and finished projects with each other from all over the world. We don't have to wait for craft shows on satellite or the rare art show on PBS. At last, visual artists have their own spot. It's better than a tree house.

  • Thanks for that demo - definitely have to try that one. I like the effect of the pieces that did not transfer as well, that totally adds to it.

  • Yes I enjoyed it very much! Wish there was more....

  • Hi, Sarah! How are you? Glad to see your back and your well. : ) Thank you for the very informative tutorial. Theresa
