  • is it one of thos pendulem clocks ?

  • That's cool :P Don't want to make a weight so just make the clock a weight :D

  • no electricity?

  • @rahagbab

it's a green technology, the exploitation of gravity.

  • @KEvronista Doesnt it have to have some sort of force pushing it? otherwise it would be perpetual motion which is irrational.

  • @rahagbab

the clock is powered by its own weight. the clock has a gear which protrudes from its side. this gear engages a row of rack gears, which are fixed vertically to the framework. this arrangement allows the clock to gradually slide down the framework. when it gets to the bottom, the clock must be manually raised to the top again.

  • @KEvronista

er, "a row of gear racks"....

    KEvron

  • @KEvronista Ingenuous.

  • @rahagbab

yeah, pretty clever. the drawback, however, is that resetting the clock ("saegeuhr", btw, means "saw clock", in reference to the gear rack) undoubtedly disturbs the motion of the pendulum, but it makes for a delightful novelty piece, and Brixe's styling is downright eye candy.

  • @KEvronista it sure does.

  • wow powerd by its own weight nice idea

  • magnifique échappement d'horloge

  • can you help me build my own clock??

  • is that powered by its own weight?

  • Yes, it is.

  • Nice, good didea, only problem it would slowly creep down the wall.

  • mmm

16 tooth gear with a hole in the midd???

if yes show me it .

  • @jackjt8

16-tooth clutch gear. see it at peeron or bricklink, part number 6542. this part, along with technic plate, part number 4263, is essential for constructing coaxial hands.

  • That's amazing! how do you keep the pendulum going? does it require a battery or something?

  • @rotflmaopmpqxyz no the thing you see hanging - the gravity keeps it moving so when it's moving everything else moves. automatically non stop untill you hold the hanging thing (sorry i don't know name) still. no battery/electricty required.

  • as the weight moves it turns gear.

this makes it move when u give it a push..

    ....

  • Wow!

Das ist die bisher best gemachte Lego Uhr (Aus meiner sicht) Und sie funktioniert mit hilfe der Gravitation :)

  • you know

now that i look at it...

it actually doesn't look half bad.

actually looks like a real clock.

  • not bad.

i especially love how you used the clock itself as a counter weight. ingenious

  • brilliant! took me a few to grasp that the clock is its own drive weight. can't wait to build one of my own.
