I am wanting to convert my truck to electric. I travel 1000 - 1200 mile trips frequently. I am assuming that the trip I would usually make in a day would now take me two days to allow for charging? Is this true>? Thanks

why not to use Bedini solid-state charger instead gas? it is another wonderful thing if real. one batt can charge up up to 3 another ones. so if you had 3 chargers aboard with 3 batts to run them you could charge 9 batts at once while another 9 are on duty

I remember when I was a kid anytime my mother cooked anything it involved her and us because she would send us kids to the store for this that constant. She was and is a terrible planner we were close to a corner mart a bike got the job done but that is an expensive way to feed a family. Where we live we are 6 miles from the nearest reasonable priced store so we check the garbage can for stuff thrown away we call when we are at the store "you need anything ?" How fast R electric? I spent 19K showroom 07 prius I now have 70k miles on it and had to change 1 oxygen sensor that is the only malfunction. We are doing fine with the prius granted I still have a scooter for rainless errands that I save lots of fuel with. As for the Xb I can get 35 mpg in town the way I drive. The best thing we do to conserve fuel is we plan our trips take the slow road in an order that saves fuel. Buy bulk groceries if it will not spoil we over buy to prevent a trip .

@sgentlemanjack...not only 1000 pounds of extra weight but thousands to replace the batteries at the end of their useful life which is around 5yrs..and less with some batteries...could pay to make a bank manager your best pal for when you need to ask for the loan.

THERES NO GAS TANK (100 lbs) ENGINE + TRANS (600-1000 lbs) so wheres the extra weight? batteries do tend to last about 5 years on average, and these are LEAD ACID...the most common battery...IE cheap...specially if you get someone to just reman the batteries for you for about 1/10 the cost per battery...the idea of these vehicles is to be cost effective...in all aspects. theyve looked everything over and are puttin the oil companies out of business for good
