Mazda MX6 Ford Probe GT 2.5L V6 in car 3&4 Gear Replacement Transmission Fix Part 1 of 3

95 MX3 transmission (automatic 1.6L / 4 cyl.)

Full with fluid

shifts OK into 1 and 2 .... but RPMs go up and up for 3rd and 4th (foot on gas accelerating), but the cars doesn't speed up .... i'm stuck on 1st and 2nd.

-Solenoid problem ?

-Should i reset by disconnecting battery ?

-No OD light flashes in dashboard

-No ''CHECK ENGINE'' light

- No codes have been taken fron vehicule (we just added fluid to tranny)

@AztecBodyart You have a CD4E trans

Chances are that the clutch pack is worn out you may get lucky and that's all it needs.

They can be disassembled and repaired in the car like the G4 but the bad thing is the trans filter is inside the trans case. So in order to change the filter after the repair the trans needs to be removed and the casing split.

Man you ROCK! Have a 1994 Ford Probe with the V6 and 4 speed 4EAL G (Ford) / GF4A-EL (Mazda). I thought at first perhaps the solenoid wasn't working in the valve body. Tested the solenoid and it works. 1st and 2nd gear work fine. 3-4 don't at all. I'm so doing this! The clutch pack for the 3-4 is cheap too. Soooo glad I watched these 3 vids. Thumbs up for all 3!
