The beat that plays during the chorus, I've heard that in another song but I can't remember the name. Does anybody know that song, it's another 80's hit. I hear the beat all the time on the radio but never the song.
Let's be honest, the big 80s hair and high rising 80s jeans are hot. The stage is lit like a heavy metal concert. The freestyle beats have a huge Latin feel to them. The whole thing has age far better than most of its contemporaries. Sweet Sensation were really amazing.
@Ultravod At some point it became politically incorrect for women to look like women. In the mid to late 90's MTV said, women shave your heads and stop wearing jeans that create a hour glass figure. You make women who don't take care of them self's feel bad you must stop. I miss high waist'd acid washed jeans, big long hair and leather jackets and high tops. It just makes women look like BABES!!!!
I swear I remember they had a video that was modestly made out in a park somewhere, maybe it was an earlier song, but it must have been just before they hit it big and got this glam makeover. Wish I could find that one because it was much more innocent and fun loving. They were just in T-shirts and jeans. Anybody else remember that?
Ah the good old days. Hair Crimping, torn jeans, and excellent music like this. They say the oldies will never die. I think the music of the 80's can be considered an oldie now
Someone please upload the "Hooked On You" Videos. That was there first single and it was a hit and they don't even have it posted on you tube. What kind of crap is that!!!!! Someone out there find it and post it.
They had it posted...both versions the 1986 version and the 1989 version, but I think that youtube either made them take it down or they just did it themselves
new kids on the block are back and in full action! and they still put on one hell of a show- i have been to 3 concerts in this year alone! and their new cd is nothing less of awesome! get hip lol
@noconfusion25 no its the same with every genreation shift. The kids of the 60's hardly cared about the jidderbug music of the 30's, the kids of the 90's hardly cared about music of the 60's although every genreation takes it influences from the previous generations. Also, add to it that music is commercialized, its catered to the demographic, in this case teens and 20 year olds. the difference is that we have youtube now and the music cna have a new life.
oh the memories wow how the styles have changed lol i used to bang this out of my radio when i was a kid now im in my 30s and it stil brings back memories
This type of music truly defined the 80's and the styles like you mentioned. Hair crimping and ripped jeans. I am almost 30 and remember listening to this on my boombox. The 80's rock
Just just to think I use to say "Oh Das My Jam", lol, this takes me WAYYYY Back, I went to c dem when they came to da Pavillion @ UIC, too bad Lisa Lisa was a NO show... Old School Music IS DA BEST!!!!
it was good in theory but not in practice . the morning after was always a horror show , you never knew what the girl was going to look like after the hairspray was slept on .plus it was highly flammable :) JV
wow that my favorite song I remembers back in the day that beautiful song use to come on channel 31 video music box that was the good old days when videos were cool
yup i use to listen to the tape over and over again too i use to sing along with her and be all loud about it too hehe i just miss being young and i miss those times when we would all enjoy life and hardly worry about anything the 80's were and will always be the best of all time
This brings back old memories of going dancing and watching the cliques of big-haired girls who would put their shoes and pocketbooks on the floor and dance, shimmy, and shake in a tight circle around their belongings...
this brings back memories big time i still love this stuff i guess cause I rememer good times traveling with the cassette tapes from NYC to Florida and many other trips, Great stuff
this wild period of time in the last 1980s and early 90s. The music was not gangster rock and was great to party too. I had some wild times back in late 1980s
It depends...It's not " Sang " because there are still Freestyle singers singing today ;) They consist of ( in order of amount ) 1. Latin 2. Italian ( Close to Latin, in the 90's it was mostly Italian ) 3.Greek 4.Turkish 5.German 6.African 7.Brazilian 8. Middle Eastern There's more scattered here and there...
hi mrmp81 i really try my best to make sense of what you are trying to say but find it impossible.could you be kind and explain.what do african or german have to do with freestyle?cheers
It was a response to the guy above me who said " most freestyle is done by latin people "

I don't like when people do that with anything, not even just music cuz' then you make it look like someone else's music and limit it to that group of people.
