@ThEsUbZ9000 That depends on the riders style and weight. Rich can normally starts making lines after a couple sessions sometimes sooner depending on how much skating he is doing. For me, I don't really make lines. I have had the same set of mega t's since summer that i normally ride on twice a week. I have worn them about halfway, maybe a tad more and I still only make very faint lines, if any at all.
I got a question for you guys, when i am doing a slide i feel like i am super heavy on the board and i lose to much speed. However, when i watch you guys you seem light and like you aren't really putting to much weight right down on the board. How do i get this light slide so that i don't lose to much speed when i am coleman sliding or any other slide??
@hill0986 It is all about unweighting the board. It's kind of like jumping without actually letting your feet leave the ground. when you go into a slide, start with a more crouched position, and then pop up as you kick the board out. With the coleman it's a similar idea. Put more weight onto your hand as you kick the back of the board out. This will cause the wheels to grip less.
@DrRoryMagowan Possibly. This is one of those "it depends on the rider" things. When Rich pops out at 90 he normally has much longer slides. I am the opposite however. When i keep my slides a little less than 90 i tend to go further.
Friend of mine is running the Abec 11 Retro Freerides (Reflex Formula) at 83a Lemon. I've pushed it at 90 and he does too and no flat spots. Wheel doesn't leave any thane, which leads me to the reason why it's soo resistant to flatspotting. If you're looking for a wheel to shred hard and last long, this seems to be the one.
Hey I've been trying this out, and I can't throw them as long as my normal 90* standies, is this normal, and should I just keep practicing until I get it?
Yes this is normal, that's the downside to the technique. It will keep your wear even, but from my experience it seems to shave off speed a bit faster. It's super fun to just lock into a long 90 degree slide, but that can have unfortunate consequences for the wheels.
@Speeddemon974 Yeah, I'm trying to throw my standies for a personal record, but I just got some freerides and don't want to mess them up like I do all my other wheels, but I can't get there.
i flat spotted my otang stims yellow in 3 weeks from standie 180's

Thanks!!!
i have always been doing this for long standies!!
I i find it way more predictable to slide like this because there are lots of wheels the tend to ice out if you hold them at 90°
