  • When one wears a black belt, many judges will give them a higher grade, if everyone wears either red or blue the skill must be evident to be scored well...its no longer about the ranking.

  • The competitors wear blue and red for scoring purposes only. During standard competitions rank belts are not worn. When sparring they will also go so far to wear red and blue hand and foot gear to make scoring easier. Notice the color of the corner flags?.

  • hey mais c'est jeff c'était mon maitre

  • who cares about belts ... both of these men performed their kata extremely well .. belts , scoring , trophy`s ...these things have nothing to do with traditional martial arts ...if you are interested in such trivialites as awards and rank then go do american karate or MMA

  • Well said.

  • Osu, very good!

  • Most likely they were wearing red/blue belts to distinguish them for scoring purposes.

  • what the hell belts where these guys? by the looks both should be pretty high second 1 should definatly be black +

  • cette école de karaté a vraiment la classe : beauté et mystère, de l'art en somme!
