But at least the boy has a disciplinary male figure in his life. Time outs don't work with EVERY child. If the adults don't do something, kids will take advantage of them. I believe the intent of the video was to embarrass this kid enough to that it would make him think twice about doing it again ( note that he had to beat his ass 2 days earlier for the same thing) so this is like the second time around so he got double this time! I don't understand why his grandmother didn't just spank him, herself.
Oddly from what I've read it actually causes behavior problems and funny enough I noticed just about every kid I knew who always acted up school got beatings too so apparently it didn't work much for them. Must be some truth to it.

I am not Black, my children have gone to good schools, but I fear that somehow they will be led astray by bad examples. I do not know the socio-economic status of this guy, but I think projects are the worse thing to have ever happened to poor people. The strong family nature of Black society in particular that was present and prevalent up to the 1960's is gone and the result is a disintegration of values. Rounding up the poor into projects is like sending them to big prison camps without guards
If a righteous whooping can keep this kid in school and performing then it is good. There are too many young people who feel it totally acceptable to not contribute to society, or for that matter to their families or themselves. Could I do this to my child, well would think that I would have intervened before it got to this point. Time outs don't work with EVERY child. If the adults don't do something, kids will take advantage of them. I do not know the socio-economic status of this guy, but I think projects are the worse thing to have ever happened to poor people. Is this better than letting your child be victim to the justice system. All they want to do is lock your child up and work them and make money off of them. Western society has womanized their men. That is why you have all this no count feminine he-shes walking around because no one took the time to show them what manhood was in their youth. SMH this is not even bad. I was whooped when i was a kid, and it toughened me up and set me straight. I'm 16, im not gangbanging, doing drugs, drinking, screwing around or nothing. Thats because when i was younger, my family, and "Mentors" set me straight. Like He did. This is not bad..SMH

@sonicsnake9 If you look up abuse by law you can not do anything to a child that you can't do to an adult...now with that being said can i come to your home and cut your eyebrows off, make you take off your clothes and beat you with a belt? Have my friend also join in? That's why his ass is going to jail. and if he really thought nothing was wrong with what he was doing why have the boy lie to the police?

Wow! Which one was the actual father of the child? Ok, I believe what the Bible says in regards to sparing the rod spoiling the child and there is a right way and a wrong way to do so. Ephesians 6:4 says, fathers do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them, rather bring them up with the discipline and instruction from the Lord.

Part of being a kid is laughin and havin fun which is all that little boy was doin. I am happy that the "man" who did this put it on youtube becuz he got caught! I don't really see how you could do that to a little kid or to anybody at all and still be able to live with yourself. I dont have kids but i do have neices an nephews and have been around children all my life and i feel bad for even raising my voice a little over normal. I WOULD NEVER LAY A HAND ON ANY OF THEM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Discipline is a spank with your hand. This is just way to far! I'm sure nobody wants to be beaten with a leather belt and shaved bald especially a little boy! This ain't no tough love its just wrong and harsh abuse. I'm glad that man went to jail and I hope he is in there for a long time becuz thats not even enough to come close to what he did to that little boy. Honestly, I think making a video of this to go on YouTube goes too far. I'm all for discipline with a PURPOSE, and honestly I don't see how this helps the child understand the gravity of his behaviors, ESPECIALLY if he sees bad examples around him. The belt and shaving of the head, coupled with the language, extreme exercise, and YouTube... FAIL.

BUT I do appreciate a young black man with enough courage to discipline a young black kid. You and I know chances are if this young man grows up without discipline just as many of our young black youth today- the lessons will be taught by the world, and by then its too late. I challenge you to ask anyone of your friends or loved ones who has done time in jail over something foolish if they would rather have had a lesson taught to thim like this young kid had or would they have rather had that lesson taught to them by the judicial system. Then do the same for someone who never went to jail but isnt living up to their potential because of waisted years goofing off in school.
