And yes, you're probably right about the Henderson fee being inflated because of his nationality. But then again, Coates can be seen as good as, if not better than Phil Jones, yet Man Utd paid double the cost for a similar calibre of player. Is it possible that Henderson might be a flop? Of course. But I think it is way early to judge.
Dalglish got some great signings this summer, I can see LFC being top 4, perhaps winning some silverware this season.
On the flip side, Sunderland is looking pretty good too. Steve Bruce has gotten solid signings and might even be bringing Niko Krancjar in. All I want is for the premier league to have a different champion. Anybody but Manchester United or Chelsea.

And yes, you're probably right about the Henderson fee being inflated because of his nationality. But then again, Coates can be seen as good as, if not better than Phil Jones, yet Man Utd paid double the cost for a similar calibre of player. Is it possible that Henderson might be a flop? Of course. But I think it is way early to judge.

Great passer, great crosser, great hustler.
Dalglish got some great signings this summer, I can see LFC being top 4, perhaps winning some silverware this season.
On the flip side, Sunderland is looking pretty good too. Steve Bruce has gotten solid signings and might even be bringing Niko Krancjar in. All I want is for the premier league to have a different champion. Anybody but Manchester United or Chelsea.

English players are at a premium rate right now, hence why we paid around the same for Downing. If Adam was English he probably would have cost us double what we paid. However, people judging any of our players right now is pointless. Even with Aqua who is playing excellent. Pre-season means nothing, it's just a run out and an idea of formation. I don't think people remember, but Steven Gerrard wasn't as good as he is now at the age of 21! YNWA.
