  • Those two books you saw: The autobiography of Malcolm X and Capitalism and Slavery by Eric Williams are good books. Read those people.

  • notice how he does not mention marijuana in the beginning? ; )

  • @kep1221 it's still poison lol

  • @cruzkali89

Idk about all that... occasionally it can be very beneficial. daily use on an every day basis, that there's a different story... that's when it will hurt you.

  • can u tell me what the first book he his reading please and the author aswell? all i can see is eieal thysell ??

  • It's never too late!!!

  • The side story to this is that Stic's Mom was selling crack out of the house just to pay the bills. They got raided and she spent damn near 20 years in prison. She just got out recently and she's singing at the end of this track. AMAZING. Truly inspirational. Healing music. Music that heals. This is our new American Folk. Believe.

  • Truth!

  • Dead Prez stand up!

This one made me quit smoking

  • UPLIFTING!

  • this is a fantastic song. people talk how dead prez have such dope content but often dont comment on just how good they are as lyricists. i find stic's phrasing, structuring of bars to be awesome. u can tell this dude is educated. he puts mad effort into his bars, nothing sounds remotely forced.

  • noone could hve put it in a better way than u did brotha... RBG 4 LYF!

  • JAMES WADE!

  • real hip hop amazing song

  • this is a good song ,some how i missed this when it came out, but i will try to find it in the music store.

  • Wow this is the only Rap song I have ever listened to that had a real message aside from beating on hoes, and smoking dope.

  • Have a listen to Immortal Technique, Lowkey, Jedi Mind Tricks, ill bill, they are all great rappers who speak about real issues rather than bitches and hoes.

Good song + nice video, keep up the good work.

  • wow,if thats the case then your really missing out on alot of good music...

  • I'd recommend you listen to The Coup. More specifically, Me and Jesus the Pimp in a 79 Granada Last Night. It has a real message and it's about beating on hos.

  • so encouraging

  • Straight-edge 4 life

Addictions destroy us - dont support the industries that ruin so many lives - we dont need that shit.

  • Straight Edge is slavery...

  • How do you figure? I am free from the addictive substances that plague so many people.

  • and I don't see no "Xs" marked on their hands...;)

  • hey DPz smoke blunts they are not straight-edge, you guys gotta open your minds and listen to the lyrics, it's getting free from being an addict it can be from an idea, from food, from whatever society poisons you with...

  • Yeah, I know DP are not straight-edge, but for me it is the logical choice. Why support the alcohol and drug industry that ruins so many peoples lives. They are not going to get my money. I agree with not being addicted to anything - I work on that all the time - like Stic.man says "the american dream" - its hard.

  • what you need to understad is the difference between use and abuse

  • this is the dopest video I've ever seen, period

  • Wonderful words to embrace, true Rhythm And Poetry.

Also good video, raw; from the heart!

  • Like KRS ONE said- Edutainment!

    Dope track!

  • "real talk"

  • daaaam, thats musik man. greatnist from 1 second to last. and they play soulja boy on mtv... fucking retard world... THIS IS THE SHIT!

  • The name of the book at 0:53 is called Heal Thyself by Queen Afua!...

  • Thank you very much sweetasskandi!

  • Can someone tell me what book it is at 0:53 ?

Of course I´ve read the autobiography of Malcolm X already, and just minutes ago I bought the other book called "Capitalism and Slavery".

Dead Prez, and in this case stic.man, are so laudable and exemplary, because they not only rap about the true conditions, they also exhibit some very useful books.

Ohh, why can´t we have more human beings just like stic.man and M-1?

  • 2 real 4 tv

  • I agree BET is bullshit

  • the radio, BET... record lables need to stop promting commercial songs. and people wonder why black are crazy.. think about it

  • BET don't entertain me.....they would rather play "CRAP" rap...promotin all this whack "Sh&T" as HIPHOP. HIPHOP(true HipHop)is concious. Limes in coconut, sittin on dubs, gold teeth, video hoes etc is what they want the rest of the world to view us like.

Positive music like KRS-ONE,DEAD PREZ, MOS DEF,TALIB KWELI etc. don't get airplay...b/c they are actually talkin about something!

Hope this answers your question mize2. Bless up!

  • I agree BET is bullshit.

  • And why didnt BET " RAP CITY " play this ???? Stic is that dude !!! RBG !

  • this beat comes with his book , Art of emceeing, fantastic book 2

  • Word up. Powerful song, powerful video. This is Real Hip Hop: uplifting. "you ain't gotta smoke crack to be a fiend a fiend is just somebody's who's addicted, it can be anything Too many of us addicted to the american dream we're high from the lies on the TV-screen and we're drunk from the poison that they teach in the schools and we're junkies from the chemicals we eat in the food."
  • THIS is real Hip-Hop, unlike faggot sell-outs like 50 Cent.

This shit also sounds much better than hearing bitches like 50 Cent say how much women and shit he got. Load of Bullshit, cuz if he anything better than a corporate bitch - he don't need to rap for a living.

Peace, and thanks for posting this awsome song.

  • How about some self reflection of your homophobic language? That isn't Hip Hop.

Stic.man, reppin' it. Fuck the majors.

XVX for life, R.A.S.H. 'til death.
