Everyone is middle/upper class..people don't do this b/c the government in the area has for many yrs set up special trades and loan money for people to est businesses-very positive. Umm... it does originate from the chinese. There is a linguistic and a written element of the vietnamese language, and both originated from a common point with the modern chinese languages. It was until the french colonized vietnam that latin characters were used. previously, vietnamese characters were used. The latin characters were adapted phonetically to the vietnamese linguistics (which remained more or less the same), not the other way around...
