  • Send it here, i want a pet squirrel

  • just shot them if you see them its easyer

but it is fun to trap them

  • I catch my squirrels like you do, I put the foot behind the spring latch. Some people want the squirrle eating off of it but if the squirrel gets on the latch, chances are better and they get caught quicker. I have caught 3 in less than a day. They love my tomatoes in my garden. They are getting relocated. I hope it doesn't kill young if they are in the nest.

  • look how he went Phsyco when the door shut.

  • great footage! what bait was used for this?

  • I caught Squirrels, Woodchucks, Skunks, & other critters by just using peanuts. I now even have a fox comming in my yard & eating peanuts. It's just to big to fit in my live trap. It's also illegal to kill squirrels in some states.

  • @fuzzysquirrelsnuts These things are rats with fluffy tails. I live in Illinois and have traps at my house to kill these things cause my neighbor has been feeding them (which is illegal) and they are now getting in my landscaping and on my roof. Anyone with states where it is "illegal" to kill these rodents should have to pick up the tab for the damage they do then.

  • Do not TRAP....unless you want fleas. Shoot them & let the night creatures feed

  • well isn't like he didn't get any food out of it

  • I wish I could get a rat trap big enough for a squirrel, I tried one from the hardware store and it biffed him on the head so hard it killed him but didn't break his neck(instantanious)I don't think he suffered as he was laying right next to the trap.I don't enjoy eliminating them but animal control is no help at all and they do a lot of damage once they are in the house.

  • I have tried rat traps many times, they absolutely do not work on squirrels. The trap will either be empty or the bait will be gone without the trap even being set off. I don't know if they are too smart for it or if it just doesn't hit them right, they just don't work.

  • RIGHT !!! The trap goes into a 5 gallon bucket of water..problem solved

  • In '05 a friend and I caught 75 squirrels, with one livetrap, in 3 months. IN THE SAME 3ft x3ft PATCH OF YARD in Bruceton, Tn. I let them go up the SAME TREE in my yard 40 miles away in Atwood, Tn.Fuckers got MEAN when you put 4 or 5 in the same cage! I bet I haven't seen a squirrel in the woods behind my house 5 times since letting them go. So much for providing myself with some occasional moving targets...I like watchin' em fall...am I bad?

  • OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!! I would relocate the vermin to the jaws of my German Sheppard.

  • Nice !!! Just make sure you GS has all his shots just in case he gets bit...

  • panzy

  • Mostly to show it could be done. Many people don't think you can get them to enter a trap. By showing they can be live trapped more people will give this form of control consideration. Typically people will just shoot them or use kill traps. But live trapping is an option and once caught, animals can be relocated to live another day.

  • Why trap a squirrel? Cruel.

  • What do you do with squirrels then trapped?

  • Release them elsewhere. See our other video where we let it go. Search using "squirel removal" (only use 1 r) and the first video will be ours where we set it free.

  • you need to do your research on why you shouldn't relocate a squirel. You didn't do this squirel any favors by setting it free. It most likely didn't survive after you moved it. I really wish people wouldn't do this stuff without knowing.

  • I just throw the trap in a 5 gallon bucket of water and then throw the glorified rat in the garbage and BTW the squirrel never did me any favors except chew up my house and I really wish they wouldn't chew my house

  • Der can I be retarded like you? "I really wish they wouldn't chew my house? what a stupid comment. Idiot

  • Ok I'll be Retarded and an Idiot

You just send me a money order to repair the damage every year for $1100.00 to 1500.00 and everyone can be happy. It's obvious you have never had a squirrel chew into your attic and rip up the insulation, urinate and deficate all over and chew your items in the attic.Did you know that once they are in they will constantly return

  • Did you know if you relocate them you have to take them at least 15 miles away, or they may come back? Maybe you could come over at the drop of a hat, whenever I catch one, and relocate it for me, as I have neither the time or the money to do this foolish endevour.Better yet I could cage them up for you and you could take them home with you and release them in YOUR back yard. They already know where to chew and love insulation, maybe you'll have the same enjoyment they give me.

  • I bet your cats would love that!

    Just remember Susanhas3cats

"It is better to be quiet, and thought a fool Than to open YOUR mouth, and remove all doubt"

FYI I feed the birds,I feed stray cats and dogs,I have 24 bird houses on the garage I do not hate animals.I have borders. Cross them and the gloves come off....

I bet you would relocate rats and mice too

Shave the tail on a squirrel and presto!

    a rat

  • A lot of patience was needed to get catch the animal as it entered. But on that day, I noticed it in the yard and was fortunate enough to have my camera ready to roll. And use Pecan Paste with some bird seed. It smells strong and will attract them from afar. You can get it from the website in the video. The best trap is the LT5518RD they have listed for squirrels. The trap is spring loaded and has a rear door for easy baiting and easy animal release. Good luck!

  • I meant to ask, what is the best trap brand. I haven't had good experiences using the Hav a Heart brand. I have seen squirrels get out of the trap with the food too many times.

  • That is so cool. How did you time it so that you were able to actually film the squirrel entering the cage?

What is the best thing to use when trying to draw a squirrel into a trap?
