  • who disliked this?! off with their unholy heads! bah!!!

  • Thank you so much for the wonderful music piece that goes so well with one of favorite movies :-))

  • The director's cut is the best version of the movie. That was the first one I watched, after that I watched the original and I just thought; " omg, why am I watching this?!" I turned it off and began watching the director's instead!

  • d most lovely singing

  • The singer sounds like Azam ali

  • This music is nice but the film was rubbish. It was cheesy and historically inaccurate.

  • @1Buttonmasher So was the Patriot and Braveheart, so is almost every movie you want to make interesting.

  • @1Buttonmasher Most of the history can not be 100% accurate anyway. Its all based on stories, some books written by other men, there is no certainty almost about anything in the history, especially about medieval/ancient history.. The movie at least shows quite a bit what it might have been like. And if you are interested in the actual facts then it is up to you to do your research.

  • @1Buttonmasher I must agree that The Braveheart was highly inaccurate, but it was a very entertaining movie. And it made me curious who was William Wallace really. So i learnt a good about about him, but it does not make me to dislike the movie nonetheless :-)))

  • beautiful! a masterpiece!

  • I just watch the Director's Cut for this movie and it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

I can't believe what people, and myself until now, are missing out on

  • Even without the director's cut, this movie was so underrated its criminal. Easily it is one of the most brilliant movies made in the past twenty years, and it should stand among the greats, and yet it goes unnoticed by all but the trained practitioners of pure art and entertainment. If all movies were as great as this one was, the world would be a much better place. Any movie that can make Liam Neeson's performance great is an amazing movie.

  • 6 ppl failed to play doctor with a french girl

  • If you're going to watch this movie, do yourself a HUGE favor and get the director's cut. I still can't believe they cut out all of that stuff. The plot makes so much more sense, and the movie is just overall an entire grade better then the theatrical cut.

  • This move is definitely a must have.

  • its a shame Robin Hood wasnt up to this standard...

  • @gagharman when a guy in a skirt was running around in a green skirt richard the lionheart was taken on saladin(related to to this movie) its pretty hard to make a great movie with such a dull plot they even had to fake a french invasion to make it atleast fun to watch

  • where can i get guitar tab for the main theme? cant find it anywhere! need help!!

  • I don't understand a word of this. And yet I love it. That's music for you.

  • My all time favorite movie. And one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Indeed an underrated movie.

  • It's occitan

    I studied it

  • I dont get why movies like this are much more popular, They atleast make sence.

  • Anyone know the soundtrack when bloom's getting it on with the princess??

  • @KingXerxes100

Saa Magni (means: Death is Terrible) by Oumou Sangare

  • @RayanBlacko Yeah i found it thanks.

  • Does anyone know what track is the song at the end when Orlando stops at the stone cross then rides off just before the end titles????-i carnt find it anywhere!!!

  • @WednesfieldGirlsFC

total soundtracks in this movie is 29. 19 of which are commercially produced, and the other 10 soundtracks do not come with the package but are nonetheless listed. see the wikipedia link of "Kingdom of Heaven (soundtrack)" that is the exact name of the page.

you can download the entire 19 songs from a torrent. they come in one package. the other 10 have to be downloaded individualy

  • @WednesfieldGirlsFC Check my page if you havent found it its on my favourites crusaders.

  • @KingXerxes100 Wow thanks mate,i have just checked it and yes that is the track!!! Nice one, thanks alot!!!

  • @WednesfieldGirlsFC No problem :)

  • King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem: " I am.....Jerusalem."

  • Occitan, a romance language in southern France.

  • @kumasan725 Is it the same as the Langue d'Oc and what some know as Provençal?

  • what language is this?

  • @gueneemc

    latin.

demos of all the 19 soundtracks are on this link: soundtrack(dot)net / albums / database / ? id =3743

if you cant see this link just do what i did: google "kingdom of heaven soundtrack'

i got the 19 soundtracks through a torrent-style download. if you want i can email you the link.

and by the way? i nearly killed myself to get a high-def director's cut version of this movie..

  • @gueneemc

sorry it's not latin! just checked. not sure if it's Occitan either. apologies

  • Does anyone who performs this?

  • 5th part Alas! How I die longing for the beautiful one who is without evil artifice and so true without deceit that never did she love a cowardly bastard; and if she wished to turn her thoughts to me, all other joy would be less compared to mine, and if she wishes to offer me a kiss, I would never be reluctant about taking it. Go find my Plus Lial and tell him that I know a lady for sale
  • @cheng269 actually this is the 6th

  • 5th part

I send her to Sire Baut de Foras,

for I want no more part of her,

and I recognize therein no other harm

except what I have caused to my Audiart.

Ah, false shield, you allow yourself to be split so easily

that one dares not wait for a blow behind you.

And I certainly have the intention of making you pay dearly for that:

if I raised you high, I shall bring you down low.

  • 4th part

And I could make her other gifts

that could be worth as much to her,

    but she does not take pleasure in songs;

on the contrary, she is complaining about me,

for she says that I want to make people talk about her too much,

and she doesn't want to be celebrated so far and wide.

It would be better for her had she been my beloved

without reward than to have sold her false beauty.

  • 3rd part

But if I had known that she was like a lion,

I would have had for her a gray horse,

since no one has her in his power

    without such a gift.

My lady has received a base reward,

since for money she has turned from true merit,

and if I had known that she might come for money,

she could have received pay from me.

  • 2nd part

And although I have had joy from her,

now I want to be rid and purified of her,

for I do not wish to acquire the empire of the Greeks

if it means being called cuckold.

Now I love another lady whose sweet conversation rewards me

    more than being left in the lurch by the other;

for he who defends false love is deceived,

and a lady fails (in her duty) who betrays herself for pay.

  • 1st part

I shall make a little song, Vencut,

since Rousillon has given you back to me.

And be it known that we have added to our number,

since we saw your companions, a new suitor,

concerning whom there is much talk

that my lady is like a lioness.

Now I know the stones of Alzona are touching,

since the one who gives most enters first.

  • ok, i don't understand the words, but it makes me want to dance, like a gypsy song i once heard when i went on a trip to europe. this is beautiful. exquisite.

  • Myspace Friederike : /friederikeschulz

    Myspace Ensemble Convivencia : /ensembleconvivencia

Come to see Ensemble Convivencia’s Myspace and Friederike’s one (Friederike Schulz is the singer of Ensemble Convivencia)

  • perfect perfect perfect song ...

  • This film has a biased against the templars. The Knights templar was originally to protect the pilgrims going to jerusalem. The film dipicted them as bad guys....

  • The Directors cut is easily one of the most underrated movies of the decade

  • @JoeZeon100 True, but they deserve it ! Maybe it will teach them not show a shitty half cut version and wait nearly 2 years to show the whole great movie.I dont know who was behing that BS but i sure hope they've lost money lol

  • @JoeZeon100 wat do u mean? sex scene? O_O

  • @JoeZeon100 by a loooong shot. Still my top 5 movies of al time.

  • @JoeZeon100 Yesssss, I just saw it and it really does battle up there with Gladiator. Its almost like watching another movie quality-wise. Bastards that wouldn't let Ridley Scott put the Director's cut out there as the final version!!!!

  • @JoeZeon100 Ridley Scott like many other artist (yes a Filmmaker is an artist!) reached the point of make movies with quality rather than the pursiot of being a massive phenomenon.

  • @JoeZeon100 i finally got it! and regret not seeing the director's version since its release.

  • @JoeZeon100 Thank you for the tip!! and I think you're right :)

  • @JoeZeon100 The director's cut is brilliant! It gives a lot more details for those who is interested in the historical side of the story. I personally can not watch the theatrical version, only the director's cut! :-)

  • This makes me want to dance.

  • I remember hearing this in the film, but it didn't really seize my curiosity much. Only after hearing it in full did I realise how beautiful the song is (both the melody, and the language).

  • That is why I grive in my heart, because he is not near at hand; I have placed my hopes in him, and now I get no pleasure or joy from it. Since he is handsome and I am nobly born, Dear Lord, why have you done this? Seeing that we are in love with each other, why do you keep us apart? God, when they shout "Overseas!," O Lord, help the pilgrim for whose sake I tremble for treacherous are the Saracens.
  • I will sing to keep my courage up since I must comfort my heart for in my great distress I not to wish to die or go mad when from the savage land I see anybody return, where he has gone who soothes my heart when I hear him mentioned. God, when they shout "Overseas!," O Lord, help the pilgrim for whose sake I tremble for treacherous are the Saracens.
  • i see we have 5 muslims

  • @dasgilde Nice try. I'm one, and I love both the song and the film.

  • Comment removed

  • @sas147741 eer no im german you nob head

  • Thumbs up if you want to get back in the crusade!

  • @L3Leon i will be there

  • This is lovely.

  • THANK YOUUUUUUUUU !!!! I WAS SEARCHING THIS SONG FOR YEARS !!!!† †† nothing can compare with the power of Christians !!!

  • @BeatAsanoski070980 generally the troubadors who wrote these type songs to their "lady" or dompna were HIGHLY heretical .....and usually sang more of magdalene as their "lost bride " ......They were out lawed by the papacy about singing of their "dompna " , but because they travelled from court to court they were quite hard to catch and BURN . they quite often were far less christian than one would think . lyrics imply a dig at the papacy trying to absorb greek orthodoxy.

  • I think kingdom of heaven inadvertantly got it right by trying to make it sound palatable to modern ears because we have the same ears as people 800 years ago, most renditions of medieval music try too hard to sound "deep" and "spiritual", in reality they would be played at this high tempo as popular music has always been played.

  • @zilbiol I think this is a genuine / true song as it was played back then......Im 90 % sure of that . The lyrics are typical troubador lyrics . ......Its a pity they way they spoil this song in the film , with the morbid music as he passes the cross where his wife was buried . spoils it in film .

  • Beautiful, i can feel it in my heart

  • this looks and sounds like la lenga d'oc to me. just cuz its spoken in souther france doesnt mean its "french" or even very closely related. it is a romance language, but a sister language to catalan and so closer to spanish. french is in the oil family which has closer affinities to the rhaetic language like rumantsch and even furlan in friuli. la lenga d'oc used to be and still is very oppressed. kids used to have their knuckles smacked in school for speaking it, or so i hear.

  • What's the song playing in the love making scene between the Ballian and Sybilla?

  • @takbonieniebotak Sybilla and Balian, I believe.

  • @ASunsetSilhouette TRUE languedoc means langue (tongue /language of OC . OC was the languedoc areas translation of YES ...so the area got its name cos they said OC instead of "OR"(oir?) north was the languedor. And your right , it wasnt FRANCE at that time . France was up north as a small area around Paris.

Many franks (templars moved to scotland ...think of OCH OI ( in scotland )..both versions of the french (frankish) YES. The scot might use both versions, OCHH OIII .....yes yes?

  • I love how everyone is saying its occitan not french...but it is french because its spoken in south france, it may not of originated in france but they speak it there.

  • @NinjaArt99 Its "french" only by region in which it originated which happens to be part of modern-day France. The area however in the time when this language was very much alive changed hands between French and English kings, influenced by Iberian kingdoms, semi-independant, etc.

  • its occitan not french

  • very very very beauttiful =)

i wish i knew what shes singing-well maybe not :)

  • yes of course it's french from the south the langue d'oc a very old language which disapeared

  • Salahuddin ,,,,, Al Quds/Jerusalem is calling again,,,,the Zionests this time

  • I can go entire days where I will hit "replay" on this throughout an entire 8-hour work shift. It's usually a good day.

  • In witch language is it ? I see spanich, portugese, french, latin and manyy others idioms in it... beautiful <3

  • @Kozuechan2894 Its probably Catalan

  • @Kozuechan2894 It's "Occitan" or "langue d’oc".

Occitan is a Romance language spoken in Southern France.

  • @01PGMC Shame on me... I'm french... XD

    Thank you very much ^^

  • If you read history, you will be able to tell that the most peaceful time for both Christians, Jews and not to mention Muslims was under the rule of the Islamic Empire.

  • @niazi16 Yeah but you can't really just say that because Muslims owned it that there was peace. Besides, the Mongols invaded shortly after, so the Middle East was under a lot of conflict during that time. And afterward, Europeans were dealing with the plague. Following all of that, there wasn't any interest in taking over the Middle East. Besides, small factions within the Ottoman Empire did fight each other, and that empire only survived primarily through tribute given by defeated enemies.

  • @niazi16 Not to mention Timur the Lame who invaded as well after the Mongols. Israel today would have peace in Jerusalem and the neighboring regions would it not for Palestinians fighting.

  • @niazi16 I think the past 50 years have been more peaceful for Christians, Muslims, and Jews in Europe and North America than at any time during the Islamic Empires :)

Also, you forget to mention what happens to the Christians and Jews if they had refused to pay the jizya to their "peaceful" Islamic governments.

  • What do you think happens if you don't pay taxes to YOUR gov't?

  • @dmkavidelly The same thing that'll happen when ALL OTHER citizens don't pay their taxes. I will be penalized just like everybody else would be, whether I'm a Christian, Muslim or an atheist. Our law does not and should never treat people based on what their personal convictions are.

  • by the way I am Muslim..and I like it ^__^

  • it's one of my favorites, what's her name?

  • So beautiful. I loved this film, one of my favourite films and I watch a lot of movies lol.

I loved the scene, so much emotion in that one scene just because of this song!

I watch the film every year, once a year when I first watched it.

  • 2 people are Muslim!

  • @peleking352 what's wrong with being muslim?

  • @PrincessRiana He is just stating that the 2 people that disliked the video were Muslims. It truth, that is quite a prejudice statement. Everyone has their own preference, so if someone did not like this video, it could have been for all sorts of reasons.

And I'd really enjoy it if this song did not receive a flood of comments about religion and arguments. I've seen too many in other Kingdom of Heaven videos.

  • @PrincessRiana It was a joke if I offended u in anyway Im sorry I sincerely apologize.

  • @peleking352 It's ok, don't worry about it :) Perhaps I've been reading a bit too many bad comments about muslims lately, and that's why I got a bit defensive.

  • @PrincessRiana Well thx u for that nice reply i was expecting a F u or a "yeh rigt" but it was nice and a lil unexpected, :)

  • @peleking352 Maybe, one of the most bad errors in that film where to be in the christian point of view; the muslims, during the films, where considering -like the Templars- like the bad people... but in that where it wheren't bad guys...

  • @Kozuechan2894 Yeahthats true, history tells us that Saladin was not only a great warrior but also a saint, a kind man in a otherwise Dark ages of times, u only see this at the movies ending sequence.

  • @peleking352 This film really glazed over history though. Saladin, in real life, didn't actually let all of the people just up and leave Jerusalem after the siege. The agreement was that everyone had to pay a certain amount to go free, those who could not were taken as slaves. Not saying He was a bad guy (hell, he could have massacred everyone there without a second thought) but he sure wasn't a saint either.

  • @IIGECKOII Quite true. He was a chivalrous man, but no one is perfect; nor Balian according to how the movie portrays him. Saladin also murdered his uncle to seize power and begin his reign.

  • @Britain171 agreed

  • @IIGECKOII yes its true but he also let people go for less money than he requested and some were even allowed to leave for free...but also many were taken slaves so yeah you are right

  • @peleking352 Bhut movie's ending sequence have encoutered many problems, with Saladin and this cross who is puuting back on the table... ^^

  • @Kozuechan2894 if history has shown us anything its that no one can ever sure.....

  • Brilliant little chansonetta... thanks for posting the lyrics!

  • lol sybillas in Orlando Blooms arm

  • wow what a beutifull song and voice ...

  • Many many thanks to Torchia999 for posting this track and to the posts afterwards that have awnsered the questions i have had about this song for the last couple of years

  • @artconva This song isn't on the soundtrack, pretty annoying as i love this song.

  • i'm trying to find one song from this film n' cant find it anywhere if someone could help me maybe...its where Godfrey(liam nelson) is staring into the land having flashbacks or something, its where orlando is taking care of their horses and the hospitaler knight approaches godfrey and godfrey is like"do you still advise what you advised upon the road?" the SONG playin durin that is amazing, kinda simmilar to this one but...well i cant find it x.x

  • @inorelin Estampie- Chanterai por mon corage

  • @RedSnow45 Google---->KeepVid

  • does anyone know the arabic song that comes when saladin picks up the cross and places it on the table? been searching for the full version but cant find it.

  • @xTheWarlordx

    Luis Delgado, Epitafio :)

  • i love it :x

  • It's great song a bout Jerusalem

  • It's great song a bout jerusalem

  • So basically the song is about a dude who was backstabbed by a traitorous bitch !

  • A peine si j'arrive a comprendre !

  • This sounds like the same type of classical Indian music played in the courts back during medieval times. Coincidence, no?

  • Ok so there are the lyrics, but does anyone have the pronunciation?

  • @FreeSpirited5 I believe the words are pronounced in the song...

  • @JackLBeadle Its hard for me to hear exactly how she's pronouncing them, and I really don't want to have to learn how to sing it by ear.

  • @JackLBeadle Its hard for me to hear exactly how she's pronouncing the words, and I really don't want to have to learn to sing it by ear.

  • @JackLBeadle Its hard for me to hear exactly how she's pronouncing the words, and I really don't want to have to learn to sing it by ear.

  • is this latin??!!

  • @pinno2 no, Occitan

  • YES found a translation.

Thanks to M. L. Switten, who had this published in a PDF file
