best headshots happen with; 90 sneak, +5 sneak with armor, 100 small guns, .42 magnum, 6 luck (+5 per attack from perk), sneak critical, AND that perk that makes criticals stronger. Go through a couple raider infested building and clean em' out without ever being seen is one of the most satisfying things i've found in the game. AND even without the Bloody Mess perk their heads still explode nearly everytime you hit em' =D

I remember my two best headshots. One was me going on a killing spree in megaton I shot a guys head off and it landed right on a plate. The other was when I had a 1% chance of hitting with a sniper and I got a critcal hit! They need VATS replays!

Well, there is a way to alter the levels of blood on the options menu, (I think) so try it out. Mine does have blood in it, and I live in Australia, and I am also pretty sure its the same blood level.

The gun he was using was a Scoped .44 Magnum. It comes like that, it's not an attachment. Eventually you can get a Sniper Rifle which I guess would be like the Hunting Rifle with a scope, only the bullets are harder to come by.
