@madmarv86 I wish it was as easy as you say. Check out the next 2 videos to see the up dates. 66 fury part 2 and my 66 fury painted. Completely redoing a car like this takes a lot of time and money. I think you will find the final work is acceptable. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video though. I appreciate all comments.
Very nice. It is a good thing to see someone who appreciates the beautiful thing that is a classic automobile, and not leave them in some field to wrought. To often have i seen very valuable, classic cars and trucks going to waste, never to be seen on the road again.
I have watched this video 3 times now and I have to commend you on saving this car , i can hear it say AHHHH , WOW . your hands are quite talented and tired i'm sure from the beautiful job you have done so far with this Classic piece . i cannot wait to see it completely finished . again !!! Kudos Brother . Ray in PA
I know what you have been through man, I'm rebuilding a 1979 dodge RV 440 with the 727 trans, You have done a lot of hard but fun work, Nice job thanks for sharing.
@rapidtransitsystem3 You will have to send me a pm. Your main page is almost un readable with the gray back ground and black font. I may be able to help point you to a few good places. let me know what stuff you are looking for too.
and i noticed that u replaced the single line master cylinder for a bigger one with a power booster that was a good move u would have gotten killed with the other one
Bummer you couldn't keep the original California 'Black plates'. IF you ever get pissed off @ those 1965-68 Budd disc brakes; you can swap on a set of '1973' Mopar C body units since the rotors were also used on 1973-ca. 80 5 lug Dodge pickups and vans . Too; your present dual reservoir master cylinder won't know the difference :)
I buitd a nice daily driver which is all I wanted. You would have to be stupid to put the money into a car like this for a full resto. The car when done would cost an easy 3 times of what the car would be worth when done. This is not a 70 cuda where you get your money back. All I want is a nice car I can drive every day if I want and not worry about a door ding here and there.
Im confused why didnt you do a ground up resto i definatly needed it all you have done is patched it up and hidden the damage with the she''ll be right attitude
Thanks for all the great comments. The car is in the shop for paint finally. I figure some where around July. I should have a new video up of the old girl.
Thanks. It was a project but well worth it. It has always been important to me to be able to say I did all the work and didn't just buy the car as is. The car was a little more than I had initially realized.
@beammark The spring is a over load spring to carry more weight. This was a temporary install for this car. I bought new shocks that have the springs built in. They are great because I don't have to use air shocks for a stiffer shock. You can see the new shocks in 1966 plymouth fury, junk yard to almost finished other than paint, this the latest video 8/10
Thanks, I love mopars but can appreciate any car some one takes the time to fix up. I went all out when i did my samurai. it is on here as well. If you like chevys. You might want to check out my partners 55 chevy. You can find it as genes 55 chevy on here. I have the build and a second video of it painted.
Thanks for the nice comments. Youtube blocks almost any music I try to put in videos any more. So I have a very limited choice. The car drives great. With the shocks on it. It drives like any other car and handles way better than you would think. It is a enjoyable car to drive and It is very reliable.. I am happy how it is turning out.
Those 66 plymouth furys were a very pretty car!I had a 66plymouth 2door myself.Could kick my own butt for letting it go.Man yours is a beauty!!Those cars were made back when real cars were made.I bet it floats down the highway?
Hey, your Fury is impressive! where did you get the parts?! I have one in my country and Its hard for me to find the spare parts I need for my Fury, do you know where can I find parts in Internet?! tnx :)
Very good work! I am doing something very similar with a 78 nova. If you would like to check my project car just type in 78 nova project here on youtube. Keep me posted on your progress.
hey, does anyone know of any places i can look for a mopar roller. Like, body, wheels...etc, just no motor or tranny. I've got a 383 in my grandparents basement and tranny to go with i just need the car to put it in. I'm thinking Junkyard or Craigslist...since money is a MAJOR object lol.
@killerskee47 I may have about 3,000.00 total if I added up every thing. I have came across a lot of deal, traded parts I didn't use for others and such. I got most of my 4 speed set up with trades and when I sold that. It pretty much paid for the aluminum heads. So money wise. I am doing good. I do have a lot of time in the car though. I had to pay for the tranny rebuild and new tires. My old carbs paid for a good part of the new ones. So I have done well with this car.
I am finding most of the younger guys don't really like the song. Unfortunately. I can't change the music with out removing the video and replacing it. Maybe I should think about that. I could re do it completely to show where the car is at now. Thanks for checking it out though.
For everyone out there these cars are rare inquier about is history before you junk it. it really doesn't matter the condition if it's worth it someone will bye it. Keep the classics alive DO NOT JUNK IT!!!
@cbobmonster Check out this video real quick and it will show why. I just wanted to get it running to see where I was at. Then went back and took care of a few things.
@TheRibatron It may look like it but the videos are not in complete order as I am sure you can see if you paid attention. I agree. Some could have been done at better times but I did a lot of this as I cam across parts. The next video I will be doing soon will show every thing in order and more to the point. Thanks for looking though
@TheRibatron ah yeah cool would like too see, im a panel beater an live in australia , looks like you spent an arm and leg on it, are parts an materials fair bit cheeper in the states
@TheRibatron I got so many deals on this that I probably only have about 2500.00 in it at this point here. I just put another 2,000.00 in the motor. The next video will show the car as it is now. It is a lot cleaner under the hood. Thanks for checking my video out.
Nice vid, and cool car from junk to new again, was wondering why you didn't paint the firewall and suspension when ya had the motor out, ? a lot easier then. Was also wondering how you stretched the new headliner? is there a special tool for that?
@mrke8ting No tools needed for the head liner. It only took a few minutes to get it in too other than re installing the stainless. I just wanted to get the motor in by the time I got to this point. The motor is coming out in a few days for a full rebuild. It will go back in with aluminum heads and the dual quad set up. Every thing under the hood will get painted while it is out this time.
@slowmotion4x4, I am not all that into American cars and don't know all the names but this is a very beautiful car. A diamond in the rough sitting amongst souless modern vehicles. Those other cars shown at the beginning of your vid (looks like a white Chrysler & some Ford thing) deserve to stay there. Modern cars don't last for long and have ropey interior and crummy handling. Your Plymouth is not built for corners but that is not the point of a All American Classic. Good luck on rebuilding her
Thanks. I will be doing another vid next year. I am changing her over to a 4 speed and dual quad set up. She should look a little cleaner over all too.
Looks great! I'm glad yet another classic is back on the road again! I'm gonna have to do a video like this of my '70 Chevy truck, When I got it back in Jan of this year it barely ran at all, so much work has had to be done!
Thanks. I did this because most people thought I bought my car like it is. I did one of these for my partners 55 chevy too. I wish I could have added the car running here at the end. It would have made it to long to put on here then. I will have to check out your truck. I used to have a 67 Gmc
Thanks. I can't really say it is restored. But it is coming along pretty good. Yes it is a 66. My car doesn't spin the tires to much. It hooks up pretty good. This came with a 383 and has a 440 now. They are great cars.
hey i just got my 65 fury out good video i think yours just as bad as mine in driffrent ways lol my air shcoks started leaking on my first trip so now im gonna get leaf spring helpers cause i hate air shocks lol
I am going with coil over shocks . They look similar to what I have on now. If you need any parts. I have extra stuff. A super nice rear seat from a sport fury. I sold the buckets. I wanted a bench in my car. I don't care for air shocks either. Have any pictures of your car?
Wow thats sweet to see a REAL American car restored.I had a fury3 totally like yours in every way but it came with a 361 that would burn the tires off it.Mine was 1966 yours must be a 66 too? Those cars are a dream to drive ride on a cloud i remember mine. The Fury sport model was so sweet it had the floor shifter and autonatic and bucket seats all factory..Thanks
