  • So good

  • As usual, no big surprise here! You've done it again! Amazing mix and fantastic presentation of the impOSCar. Very cool drums as well. Thanks for sharing. I just wonder where do you get the inspiration to write such cool original music in the style of your choice. Hmmm..... super nice!

  • @psbmastering Thx :) well i think the inspiration is based on fun factor, the more fun you have doing something the more you feel like keep doing it. In this case i imagined doing a trailer theme for a 70s crime series beefed up with some fusion drumming. Drums are Groove Agent 3 and me with one of my custom kits.

  • @michaelkastrup I wish your 70s crime series will last for several seasons! :) How about 30 more years? ;) Yeah, that trailer theme was awesome.

  • I've got impOSCar and also miniMonsta, love em both!

  • Love the demo !! The link to the presets seems to be dead though : -( Please help, as I'm a useless patch programmer at the moment (still learning) ! Thanks, RP.

  • @retrophilm I cant do proper links in comment fields :( Youtube dont allow it. Also that link is only for 1 preset so you are not missing much ;) I could not export a single preset so i had to export the factory bank with that single preset included.

  • cubase above all else :)

  • @sonick808,

    I agree with you 1000%. ;-)

  • Hot

  • Great sounds for impOSCar and Zebra, Michael - terrific work !

  • please whats the imp preset at the intro?

    eric

  • @eggzy43 I exported the bank, the sound is the first one in the bank named MK_7th_Arp. Get it at w w w.xsynth.com/download/MK_7th_Arp.zip

  • wow thanks & good luck!

  • sorry michael, i can't open that link, i cant see any imposcar presets?

    eric

  • sorry i cant find the imposcar presets, i would buy this preset!

  • great song michael...love that beginning i use IMP in fl studio all the time, the sounds are rich, fat and stunning

    good luck

  • wow great job! This should be an official impOSCar demo. Great drum patterns ...did you program the fills as well?

  • @hermitnerd Drums are partly Groove Agent 3 and partly me. Kick and Snare is Drumulator DMX style in a special dry compressed mix.

  • pleasure for the ears...

  • hey do u use imposcar on FL studio? i cant seen to get more than one imposcar vst working at the same time

  • @chasna Sorry cant help you there... i dont have FL Studio in my setup.

  • @michaelkastrup FL Studio sucks =D haha... nothing can beat Cubase 5.1.. it just ROCKS! well done sounding m8 very nice piece of work with this legend synth imposcar! i heard kraftwerk uses it too. kraftwerk also uses Oddity =)

  • fl studio rocks 2

  • @chasna disable multithreading on each instance of imposcar.

  • @lucidflux76 how would i do that?

  • @chasna in it's main menu. (it's a down arrow or something.) go to the imposcar instance, the graphical vst, then hit its main menu and disable multithreading. it's next to disabling / enabling 'smart disable' for the instance.

  • @lucidflux76 it worked thanks!

  • when is Imposcar 2 coming out?

  • great song. and awesome use of that vst

  • good porn music

  • great track - amazing softsynth - the best in fact.

  • I like it !! ImpOscar is definitly a huge synth

  • How many imposcar tracks do you play at the same time in this song?

  • 13 instances of ImpOSCar

  • Great, what computer do you have?

  • Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz, 4 GB Ram, Vista Home Premium on a 24" Screen and using mostly ASIO4ALL as sounddriver, a Novation ReMOTE SL Keyboard, Monitor System Yamaha HS 50M and some small Genelec Monitors

  • michaelkastrup, what is your musical background, have you had formal training or worked in a jazz/funk band? Just that I really like the material you have on Youtube and to my ear you really know your music and are a great inspiration, I don't have your keyboard ability but the type of music you create is exactly the same vein that I would love to pursue. Cheers

  • Hi maccagrabme :), in the 70's i learned my self to play most instruments by listening and playing to records. In the 80's i got into synthesis and build a studio doing arrangements and sound design for artist. I have always been on some sort of "want to learn more" curve. I find it important to know most instruments role in an arrangement and consider it like making paintings and having fun putting the different colors on the canvas. So as long as you have fun you will learn along the way.

  • @michaelkastrup Good question Olorintube, I was wordering the same. Just to clarify, do you have all of them in separated midi channels or resampling each track? I'm about to change my computer cause I have an old Intel with one core and to date It's impossible for me to instance more than one impOSCar...:-( Thanks!

  • @darksideofdarkness Odd that you are only able to run one instance. I'm running 13 in this little track at the same time. Each new instance is set to midi ch 1, dosent matter what midi i give it since each instance is seperate from the others and just respond to whatever the track is playing. So there is no multitimbral going on here... just 13 seperate versions of ImpOSCar.

  • @michaelkastrup Actually, I should have written "tracks" instead of "channels" en my original post, but you have already answered my question, they were real "instances", not audio. Thanks for the clarification. Congratulation for the song, is really cool, and it reminds me how good this VST is....

  • Damn, super smooth!

    Gotta get this vst.

  • Very nice song.

What Cubase and drum software you use? Thanx!

  • Thanks :)

I use Cubase 4.5.2 and Groove Agent 3 with custom kick, snare and hihats made from old drumboxes.
