we saw this over rome as well. the bats came out at sun down and flew around for quite a long time. probably gobbling up any insect in their path. it was a real treat to see this up close and personal. it was pretty amazing thing to experience. all we needed was some orchestra music, cuz the formations and movements of the blobs in the sky were amazing.
