I find the two-tone horn of QM2 not quite as magnificent as QE2's.... though they're both still unmistakable and earsplitting when you're only a few feet away... :)

Well that's good to know. You could hear the original Queens Mary, Elizabeth, as well as QE2's Typhons/horns for over 10 miles as well.

An interesting fact about the QM2 horn is that the horn came from the original Queen Mary so its even older than the QE2's horn.

@mcpcshowcaseHD Thats very interesting, good thing that the new Queen Elizabeth doesn't have the QE2 horn, personally i think that would of rowed the ship considering the QE2 is such an icon!

No she was retired starting her final voyage to Dubai on November 11 2008. She is currently in Dubai with a very uncertain future ahead of her.

I was there on her final day in Southampton - you can see the video on the mcpcshowcase channel.

A great day, such a shame she's no longer in service.
