It looks a very good Splitter! How about adding a table on the left hand side for the logs that are waiting to be split. It could be made to fold down, and would always be with the machine ; just a suggestion. Well done!
Thank you, have a look to see the way we aranged the frame, a simple table frame can be slipped into the box iron frame on either side, it does speed things up having a table stacked with your timber
have to lift wood too high....get a 24x24 oak round up there. also a question: why are you splitting around the edges? was it stopping when you tried to split down the middle?
@midcorkmetalworks The machine has changed since we made this prototype, it's now a bit shorter while keeping the same stroke and power, a PTO guard and back plates on the table to prevent dross falling behind the machine. There is also an interlock lever so both hands are required to move the ram down. Health and safety had to be perfected before going on sale to customers.
That is such a sweet machine.

No prob Ken, have a look at the last block of wood, 24" won't fit in a 19" stroke.

How much it cost?
Nice machine.

You should have a foot control to make is easier.

We were concerned that timber could pile up and jam the lever, also too much of a temptation to get hands in the way, thanks for your comment

@MrLeonard55 I see your point about the safety. How about using a treadmill as a conveyor to put the split wood into the container?

@MrLeonard55 Would be great, we can build almost anything for people. The more add ons however, the closer you are to a firewood processor.
