I voluntarily led the outreach ministry for my previous church - my pastor asked me if I would consider doing it since I strongly believed in reaching out to others. Well it's just an observance of history: Jesus was part of a sect that had torn themselves from judaism, the original rebel if you want, that's what gave him "the status". Every religion has a person "coming to save", it's a good system to pass bucks, deliver and control.
