it sucks i been getting a Gov. check for 2 years and now i may have to get a damn job. it sucks because working kinda hurts my feet. We just been to raise the taxes on all the people who do work. They should feel sorry for us. It sucks because I may have to cut back on fast food and cant get a x-box for x-mas. Raise taxes!

I wish there was a Peace Corps right here in the US. I am lucky in that I make a pretty good living, more than I need, and would like to help out a family who really needs help. I would like to donate, but not so the people getting my help know who I am, and I don't want to know who they are. It is enough for me that they are being helped. (I would prefer that we all join the IWW and establish our own pension fund, for all workers, but that's maybe too big for now.)

@FRTothus I always remember that Charity begins at home, so I donate anonymously, when I can afford it, to local charities. Doesn't really matter what kind of Charity, it helps someone keep their job and do good works. Animal Shelters in this area don't take cats. Being a cat lover, I give to a local cat shelter and adoption center. I send money in the form of a Money Order. And my next cat will come from that shelter as well.

Nobody should be spending A DAMN cent on Christmas holidays, except for putting food on the table. Nobody should be buying useless crap, just because there is some fake 'obligation' to do so.

Unfortunately for the sake of the country we can't stop spending, even when we want to strike out at the corps that run the country, it only hurts those workers who they employ and in turn hurt the economy even more. We're all trapped in the cycle of Corporatism.

@OlGreyWolf58 I've read and studied the Commission report. The report isn't as bad as most would like to believe. In a sound recovering and growing economy, I support most of what is being suggested, including the changes to SS, which makes a much needed change to "above poverty level payments to low earning seniors" and the "bend" which deceases payments for the very high end wage earners. But we are not in a robust economy, therefore implementing most of the suggestions will hurt us.

@Boomer1949 Added a different vid you should see. The other was not the report to which you talk about..Esquire sat down a bipartisan group of 4 with a chair...came up with this in 3 days..Out of debt by 2020.....

The head of the commission also knows that Congress knows the situation and the Dems are going to push to raise the debt ceiling in Apr of next year and the Rep will fight tooth and nail against it. Which in turn will shut down the government and his gleeful wish to watch a blood bath will unfold. Is this what the country needs now or desires? I think there are many people out there who do. I for one do not.
