Wow, what an awesome video. The story would have been great even if it had just been about the bike, but when you add the story of these two great sons doing something great for their dad makes this truly an all time classic story. What a great family!
That is one of the best things I've seen in ages! It was just posted on a Facebook biker site. So. If you're ever in Cambridge, MA, all of you are invited to dinner. By a 58 year old motorcyclist who teaches at Harvard. God bless you and have a really great year.
That's just beautiful, guys. Thanks for sharing your story. You brought your father to tears, but what's more, I'm sure your parents couldn't be more proud of the thoughtful boys they raised. And the bike is fantastic!
What a great thing to do. don't worry dad I was teared up right along with you. as for the bike, give me that hot rod sounding norton over a gsxr or ninja anyday!!!!
Met your Mum and Dad in Bermuda last week and he told me about your project - what an awesome thing to do, and great work on the video too. Tell him Ian says hi!
Absolutely beautiful story. The most touching that I've seen in a long time. I know a lot of people say this, but who would dislike something like this??
Amazing story and video. I watched it three times in a row: one for the story, two for the bike and three for the editing of the video. Kudos to all who participated.
Great story. Nice to see these two working sons do something so nice for their working dad. Notice the lathe in the shop? Nice. Only recommendation I have is DO NOT JUMP ON THAT KICK START WHILE IT IS ON THE CENTER STAND, like they did at the resto shop. 68-69 center and side stands have a huge failure rate and are difficult to replace and repair. Have fun with it and take good care of her. 20M3 130396 1969 Norton Commando R model owner
@Knovlan Thanks for the note! We'll be careful from now on. I have a 73 and she seems to be holding up on the center stand okay so far. Good luck with your bike.
OMG! I used to own a '69 Norton in my wild youth. It was an awesome bike, indeed, and very fast. You guys rule! What a great way to show love for your old dad by fixing up his "basket case" bike! The same thing almost happened to my bike. I took mine apart, lost interest, but managed to restore it, finally. You guys rule! And, you made me cry...

That's such a great idea, so nicely done and when he got that bike back, I had tears in my eyes myself! Gorgeous bike, super funny present, and a very happy man, how can anybody on this planet not like it?!
Ahhh, I know: You're jealous bastards, that's why! :-D
I was really touched, me and my father shared two old school bikes long time ago back in our country, but he didn't see my R1 & CRF here in L.A. before he passed away last year. This made me cry. You guys are awesome!
That was too good for words, I had goosebumps when he walked out and then I cried when you guys were hugging with your dad on his bike. That was truly amazing! Beautifully put together video and a stunning bike that clearly made your dad very happy. I seriously loved this video, had to favourite too.
Best vid I've seen on Youtube so far, and it looks like they've done a top job on the bike as well. Back in 1967 we saw the first Commando at the Earls Court show in London, a green Fastback, they were going to sell them for 450 pounds, about $750, which we thought was way overpriced and would never sell!
That was soooo cool a thing to do for your dad. I'm going to send this link to my 2 sons. I don't want my boys to do anything like this for me, I'm only an armchair admirer nowadays. I was a big Norton fan and rider in the 60's and 70's. Watching this brought tears to my eyes! SWEET!
Even though my old man was an a..hole and would never get it.........I even thumbs up'd this....wth is up the 9 soul-less bastards that down'd it? Kids of Satan I guess.
That's really fantastic.!! great job from u 2 guys!! I wish many miles with that norton for you'r father!! (what;s up with the 9 dislikes?? they thought it's for download or what?jealous people)
