  • Wow, what an awesome video. The story would have been great even if it had just been about the bike, but when you add the story of these two great sons doing something great for their dad makes this truly an all time classic story. What a great family!

  • Cool, guys. Way to go!

  • AWESOME!!!! i nearly cried! gotta love the ol' mans big cheezy grin after he rode it =]

  • What a X-mas gift! Yesterday the film Hachi the waiting dog made me almost cry and now this....Best regrads from Holland

  • Proof no one reads copy.

  • That is one of the best things I've seen in ages! It was just posted on a Facebook biker site. So. If you're ever in Cambridge, MA, all of you are invited to dinner. By a 58 year old motorcyclist who teaches at Harvard. God bless you and have a really great year.

  • great story !!!

  • Great gift.

  • This is life at its best !

  • welldone great great effort ! you guys did well !

  • That's just beautiful, guys. Thanks for sharing your story. You brought your father to tears, but what's more, I'm sure your parents couldn't be more proud of the thoughtful boys they raised. And the bike is fantastic!

  • Why in holy fuck would ANYONE dislike this video, let alone 11 people? What a great story, and yes... who's chopping the onions!

  • Love this video....HAD to share it on Facebook!

  • now THIS is the kind of stuff i LOVE to watch,..thanks guys, i hope your dad enjoys every minute of his "new" bike !!

  • Met your Mum and Dad in Bermuda last week and he told me about your project - what an awesome thing to do, and great work on the video too. Tell him Ian says hi!

  • Absolutely beautiful story. The most touching that I've seen in a long time. I know a lot of people say this, but who would dislike something like this??

  • Excellent video guys. My grandfather made Sunbeams. He loved Nortons too. Pity he isn't alive to see this video.

  • Beautiful

  • Amazing story and video. I watched it three times in a row: one for the story, two for the bike and three for the editing of the video. Kudos to all who participated.

  • who the fuck left these onions here?

  • The bike is great, the sons are great.

  • shit that certainly beats the tie I got my father for this birthday

  • Great story. Nice to see these two working sons do something so nice for their working dad. Notice the lathe in the shop? Nice. Only recommendation I have is DO NOT JUMP ON THAT KICK START WHILE IT IS ON THE CENTER STAND, like they did at the resto shop. 68-69 center and side stands have a huge failure rate and are difficult to replace and repair. Have fun with it and take good care of her. 20M3 130396 1969 Norton Commando R model owner

  • @Knovlan Thanks for the note! We'll be careful from now on. I have a 73 and she seems to be holding up on the center stand okay so far. Good luck with your bike.

  • "Norton rules!" Thanks for posting

  • I keep watching this vid over and over... I love how you can see how he starts slowly realizing what's actually going on from 11:30 onwards.

  • that bike is great

  • OMG! I used to own a '69 Norton in my wild youth. It was an awesome bike, indeed, and very fast. You guys rule! What a great way to show love for your old dad by fixing up his "basket case" bike! The same thing almost happened to my bike. I took mine apart, lost interest, but managed to restore it, finally. You guys rule! And, you made me cry...

  • Best vid I've seen on Youtube so far, and it looks like they've done a top job on the bike as well. Back in 1967 we saw the first Commando at the Earls Court show in London, a green Fastback, they were going to sell them for 450 pounds, about $750, which we thought was way overpriced and would never sell!

  • This is one of the best vids on youtube, total respect...

  • Or have a dad.......

  • 9 people don't ride at all.

  • That is what it's all about. Priceless.

  • 9 People ride Hondas.

  • Amazing story. I wish you guys didn't give it away in the ad though.

  • That was soooo cool a thing to do for your dad. I'm going to send this link to my 2 sons. I don't want my boys to do anything like this for me, I'm only an armchair admirer nowadays. I was a big Norton fan and rider in the 60's and 70's. Watching this brought tears to my eyes! SWEET!
