@normbates30 Do a search for "Boyce and Hart Music" on Google. You'll find this song and "I'll Blow You a Kiss in the Wind" which is the song they sang on the show "Bewitched".
Yeah, this was also their contribution to A&M's Family Portrait from 1968 (I think). Anyways, the album was ripped off years ago and I can't find the song anywhere. It was great.
@Dshed1967 Don't know if you found out yet, but the name of the song is "Girl I'm Out To Get You". I have it on a greatest hits album of Boyce & Hart.
i heard that song first when i was like 6yrs old...16yrs later i downloaded the complete i dream of jeannie series...looked for the episode...i want this song played at my funeral!
From July 1967, this was B&H's first Top 40 hit, just barely making it as #39. Five months later they were back with "I Wonder What She's Doin' Tonight," so they were certainly on to a good thing! "Goodbye Baby" (#53) and "Alice Long" (#27) followed in 1968.
I didn't know who these guys were when I was a kid and i always asked myself why didn't these guys "make it". Not knowing they were behind the basic sound of the monkees and a lot of other hits.
Same here. As a kid I always waited for the rerun of this episode but I never knew who these guys were until I became an adult. I just now realize that Phil Spector was also in this scene. I LOVE YOUTUBE!
Yeah. Always LOVED this episode. Season 3 I think. They sang another good song on this episode too. And you are right, Boyce and Hart wrote a ton of songs for everyone including themselves. They were actually pretty big for a few years, but they were really only 60's groovy music and I guess that period ran out on them.
@wrestlerx123 They had several hits. They were the ones who composed the Theme song for Days of Our Lives which has been played nearly everyday for years. Of course, they were mostly known in the 60's. Tragically, Tommy Boyce died of a gunshot wound. He and Bobby were a great duo.
it is a shame that tommy boyce committed suicide a few yrs ago!yes, barb eden did play drums for this, and actually landed them a contract w.the man w/the glasses.. phil spector!
It's definitely not a double. At the same time, she's just doing one move on the drums for the whole song which is not in synch with what the real drummer is doing on the soundtrack, so aside from looking cute, I wouldn't say it was a GREAT job....but on "I Dream Of Jeannie", does anyone really care?
I am not in a bad mood, but I really dislike pussies like LKboory who talk shit behind a computer keyboard. If you ever want a live ass-kicking, come see me in Vegas, pussy.
Hey...get your facts straight. This is from I Dream Of Jeanie and was way after Boyce & Hart were dropped from the Monkees after the first album. Although I like Boyce & Hart the Monkees were better with out them.
Ok, I rectified the facts after doing a little research. The Monkees had a lot of writers behind them not just Boyce and Hart, I admit. But B&H wrote and produced a lot of good stuff. The problem with the Monkees is that we were ungrateful. They had an entire label working for them and they thought it was their talent that made them great, that's why they fell on their face eventually.
WOW...didn't know that was Phil Spector. He looked normal, now he looks creepy. And this was on an episode of I Dream of Jeannie...remember this well.
I wish that episode with Boyce and Hart on I Dream Of Jeannie was in its entirety. Jeannie blinks them up from different places like a coffee shop, sign poster putting up signs, record store, and the delivery man from the store where Tony bought his camping gear. The part where they couldn't play at first and Jeannie blink them where they could and the song they sing is priceless.
Tommy & Bobby were terrific performers. The song is circa.June 1967 with 'Barbara Eden' on drums & 'Phil Spector' seated in the chair-as opposed to a prison cell!!!.
poor joey09 is a little faggot and he has beened blocked. He would like to apologize to everyone on this site for being an asshole. Apology not accepted, idiot, I will not let you back in no matter how much you beg.
Unfortunately, Joey is a pussy and doesn't know how to express himself. But he has apologized, but I still removed even his apology because that bitch needs to learn how to grow up.
you might have the dates correct, and I appreciate that part of the post, but you prove yourself to be a real jerk off with your use of language for no good reason. A simple, you made a mistake would be sufficient. Go jack off to your picture of Kieth Hernandez and dream that it is 1986 again, because your Mets won't win another series for many years to come, asshole. By the way, thanks for the info.
boyce and hart did NOT play the instruments on the Monkees records!
A whole bunch of groups of that era did NOT play their own instruments, monkees, beach boys, mama's and papa's, et. al. The studio musicians did it all and they were known as the "Wrecking Crew" Hal Blaine, Carol Kaye, Tommy Tedesco, et. al. Shame The Monkees got all the flack about it, when the Beach Boys had been doing it for years already. Oh and the Monkees debuted in 1965.
@cadesmal Somebody did put that clip on YouTube, but I don't know the name. I think I searched "I dream of Jeannie Boyce & Hart", or the other way around, but it is or was on YouTube somewhere if that helps! Peace!
@Gidget115 actually I just found it...if still looking...the uploaders name is bobgriffith2001. I searched under "I dream of Jeannie boyce & hart", there is a pic of Major Nelson & Jeannie sitting on the couch.
okay according to the net Monkees premiered in 66, this was in 67, the year after B&H were with the monkees, and now on their own. Don't understand why last train to Clarksville was in there, that was a monkees hit. Also Phil Spector the old guy on trial of murder is the record executive.
thx, wrestlerx123 4 uploading this! - just a hunch, but I think this Jeannie eppie was filmed in early 1966 because Davy's first solo LP came out in late 1965- I think the 1965 Jeannie eppies are B&W. - The Monkees show premiered in Sept 1966.
sorry, I don't want to make an argument, but this was 1965, the monkees premiered in 67,68? When Jeannie is looking for 4 random people to play in her group, you here the instrumental of Last Train to Clarksville. Ghosting means, like ghost writing in novels. Boyce & Hart did all of the musical instruments, because at the time none (or maybe just Nesmith) was a musician. In fact, all they did was take out B&H's vocal and put in Dolenz as lead, and they may have helped in the back up.

They did, under "Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart" in 1976. Their Mike Douglas apperance is on you tube, and under my account (favorites). Check it out!

Yes, but why not at the initiation of the band.
