Alright, seems like no one knows much about CF-18's so I'll clear a few things up. 1. His engine was NOT on fire, you can see that it goes in flames after the plane hits the ground. 2. F-18's fly like a brick when they go under 140-180 knots. 3. The pilot ended up going way too slow during the trick, causing the plane to lose control.
It makes you wonder, why do they risk doing low pass tricks anyway? Is risking a life and a 30 million dollar plane worth making some little kid happy?

Not enough airspeed, not enough altitude for recovery, It tip stalled...and started to flat spin. I'm glad the pilot survived, but it looks like its his fault. Does'nt look or sound like engine failure...
witness said they heard a popping noise coming from the right engine, so the pilot must of lost thrust in the right engine which caused the aircraft to yaw to the right and go into a stall the pilot had no way of recovering. Either the engine wasn't inspected properly before the flight or that some debris entered into the engine during the practice run. Thank god no one was killed.

The pilot was reported as though he was a hero. He should kill himself now because a plane costing millions of dollars was destroyed. That was taxpayers' money.

this video is amazing. Although on the drudge report it says during airshow when it was just an airshow practice. Otherwise it was an amazing escape. He could have died.

@Mudd0000 Canada's airforce has around 80 CF-18 in service with more in flyable storage, as well as the C-130, Griffen Helicopter, C-17's, Challengers plus many other aircraft and The CAF has some of the best pilots in the world that could kick any US pilots ass in air to air.

I live in Lethbridge and I was there watching him practice. That explosion was huge and we were all hoping that the pilot was ok. Luckily he is fine and currently in hospital with non life threatening injuries.

That's how things should be done so that all pilots all over the world will be as perfect as possible. The plane could have crashed on you.

im gessing right engine failure wich cursed the aircraft to yaw right because the left engine was prduceing more thrust. Or he was doing the high alpha pass at to steep a angle and stalled one off the wings entering a spin at very low altude

@gep210 I'm sure the ~2500 Canadian troops in Afghanistan are there giving free candy and singing lullabies to Afghani children. I admit the Canadian pilots in Iraq are not dropping the bombs themselves since they only serve on the U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry planes but they do point others as to where they should drop the bombs. I apologize for insinuating they are murderers, they are accomplices to murder.
Small piece of advice, name calling doesn't help your case on or off-line, it weakens it.

The pilot can eject earlier well before the spin but he hanged on till the last min trying to salvage the situation. It takes a lot of guts to do that.

Not enough airspeed, not enough altitude for recovery, It tip stalled...and started to flat spin. I'm glad the pilot survived, but it looks like its his fault. Does'nt look or sound like engine failure...

witness said they heard a popping noise coming from the right engine, so the pilot must of lost thrust in the right engine which caused the aircraft to yaw to the right and go into a stall the pilot had no way of recovering. Either the engine wasn't inspected properly before the flight or that some debris entered into the engine during the practice run. Thank god no one was killed.
