  • is the flying v blue or black, i cant tell

  • @wedor0907 It's sparkle blue

  • cant quit watching this fucking video!!! ITS OT ME MEZMORIZED!

  • @megadan429 I apretiate it.

  • @mrfootinmouth its no issue.. i thank you for the GREAT music.. and the very funny thin is.. i JUST was in the back room jamming to YOUR version of this song... i come out and i have a comment about THIS SONG... lol i been listening to your cover of welcome to buckethead land for almost a year now.. it never gets old... and i still think the solo is done flawlessly

  • Nice cover! check out mine youtube.com/watch?v=aW6AVnbDkmE

  • god.. ive watched this vid every day for like... 9 months now

  • awesome...I like your JT....I almost bough the warlord, but they wouldn't knock any money off for the discoloration of the gold hardware on a brand new one, so I went with something totally different. now I have 4 JT's in my home and each one is totally awesome.....keep on shreddin dude

  • wow, pretty big guitar..

  • @predator6996 It's pretty small me actually

  • i figured the solo out by ear

  • @masterchiefownsuall wow because its just so impossible

  • hey, really great playing.

now i just have to ask:

did you have to do a ton of modification and setup on that guitar?

i've heard really bad things about them.

i would REALLY appreciate if you could tell me where you got that and fro how much.

    \m/

  • I just shimed the neck, filed down a few sharp fret ends and relocated the strap button. It is by all means a cheap guitar i just happen to relly like it.

I got it in a local shop, sort of an impulse buy for around $120 US

  • OMG and AMAZING buy for $120!!!!!!

sounds as good as far more expensive guitars i've played.

now what do you mean shimed down the neck? and is drilling involved with moving the straplock?

i can't seem to find one like this online. do you have any idea where i could find them for sale?

  • I gotta tell ya' It doesn't feel like a very good guitar in general, but it sounds and plays better than it should.

shiming the neck means that you remove the bolt on neck and put a small piece of cardboard or some other material in between the neck and the neck pocket and then you bolt it back in, this in order to alter the angle of the neck against the body (in my case to be able to lower the bridge a bit more thhan it allowed to lower the action further)

  • And yes moving the strap button requires to drill a new hole (not a straplock though), I moved it closer to de edge of the neck pocket right over the neck plate (in other words closer towards the neck to improve the balance).

Last time a saw one was listed on ebay about 2 years ago, for what I understand it got discontinued very quickly

  • aww man. thats what i was afraid of. i had no idea it was that old. well thanks.

the rest of their guitars look like total crap lol

  • how does it not feel like a good guitar?

am i just wasting my time?

  • well, if I were to look for a flying V I would look elsewere, like I said it was an impusle buy I didn't expected much.

the overal quality feel is that of a very cheaply made instrument, laminated body, finish flaws all around the neck, very generic hardware (although solid). sharp fret ends and other details.

in my opinion not worth spending time trying to find one (unless its right in front of you and is dirt cheap) ,

  • love the jay.

  • and i must add that your finger movements on the end solo are beautiful and flawless

  • Thank you, It might have something to do with leaving the pinky up in the air trough out the whole solo, It makes it look classy, like when you hold a tea cup with the pinky up. ; )

As far as flawless, I assure you there where a lot of mistakes in there, but seems like only I can really tell.

  • yea i know how it is.. when i hear hyself play i hear it butchered and choppy.. but my friends think im awesome

  • This song is very fun to play. First song i ever learned...Surprisingly..

  • is that guitar a bit oversized or wht ?

  • nope, I'm undersized.

  • great cover anyway

  • fricken great cover! Loved the solo, and the other parts too :P Crit4Crit? PS: Nice choice in amp *coughcough*

  • man, ur cover kicks ass.... just like ur guitar...;)

    LOve it!!!

  • so glad opne person like the hay turser V. i have one and usually everybody dislike them. just because of them copying gibson, nobody realizes how nice they sound.

  • Some of us just aren't that picky I guess.

  • nice man nice check out my bucketheadland cover

  • HAHA.

    HOW F*CKING NICE.

you pay this on a cube 30?

i got the same but now way i can get this sound out of it.

    prob. my bad guitar.

  • awesome awesome wat amp are u use though

  • Thanks

Amp is a roland cube 30, it's on the description.

  • cool and one more thing where did u find the solo i can't find

  • I found it on a powertab but I didn't bother with it, I just ended up doing my own version since I'm not really good at fast stuf

  • thxs

  • 2nd part sounds like crazy train

  • Tone makes is all. Absolutely all your own right there

  • like your tone aweome playing to !! check out mine if you like\

  • Good shit dude!!! Good shit indeed!

  • How in the world can you play the solo with only 3 fingers? O_O. Id find that to be a little more difficult than with 4 fingers.

  • Beats me, I normally use all 4 fingers but I didn't realize that I only used 3 in this until I saw the video myself.

I blame it to poor technique I guess.

  • sick guitar dude

    gr8 playing

  • hope to learn this song, thanks for the great vid, i favorited it

    any tips?

    :)

  • Thanks.

Only tips I got: After learning where the notes on the main riffs goes, try moving them around to diferent posittions or fingering patterns to make it feel and sound comfortable with your playing style.

    And have fun with it.

  • dude i got the same vgs 50 but i got problems on it, it wont do anything only a high pitch sound on some effects, when i plug only the guitar to the amp it works perfect but when i plug the guitar on the vgs and then the vgs to the amp it doesnt make any nouse only that sound, it turns on and everything but doesnt make any noises can u help ?

  • The VGS50 has a tube in it for some of the distortions, the tube could have stopped working. although I don't know if that will kill all the presets or just the tube ones.

Hard to say without trying it first, mine has never let me down.

  • Oh yeah, and nice job. That's not the original solo, is it? Either way, that was pretty nice. This song was one of the first we ever covered.

  • Thanks, yeah it's from a powertab with a few tweaks. and like said before the solo it's just my take on it.

  • That's guitar pro I hear, isn't it? :-P

  • its a really good cover nice and clear not a lot of mistakes but the tone of the guitar makes it sound a lot different then the original. but very well played good job

  • U rock!

  • great job

  • U rock :D

that was really awesome, plz how long have you been playing guitar?

  • around 15 to 16 years. started around 1993.

  • ooo thats why u play so awesome. Started when i was born lolz.

    have a nice day :D

  • it was like an ear orgasm u rock

  • u rock

  • Thanks, not so bad yourself.

I asume you get the 'crazy train' / 'Bucetheadland' riff similarities really well.

  • That a Les Paul in the background?

  • Yes it's an epiphone. I have it on my channel as well, check it out.

  • I don'tknow what you would buy with 250 bucks/// maybe, a ephifone, if it's cheap? ephifone is the company name. They copy Gibson and they are pretty good and cheap.

  • epiphone

  • ...::::HELP! i my guitar sucks, i need a new one. my top price is $250. What would u reccomend? genre would be rock and metal. please, any feedback is gladdly helpfull!::::....

  • lokura!

  • THe real thing isnt down tuned

  • You are correct. I keep my guitars in this tuning simply becuse I find it convinient (not too low not too high). It just made sense to transpose the whole thing for my needs.

  • Appreciate the comments so far, thanks people.

To answer some questions so far:

    >ther is some "crazy train" riff goin on there, quite obvious.

    >Tuning is standard but 1 full step lower (DAFCGD) that's why it sound a bit odd.

    >glad you liked my take on the solo.

    >Fingers aren't nitro loaded, jus heavily caffeinated

Lastly, heard some of your covers people and I'm digging what your'e all doing, doesn't have to be perfect (mine sure isn't) just have fun with it, guitar is not a competition

    Thanks

  • nice. flying V is awesome too. keep it up bro.

  • dude i have the same gear as you but i have a 60 watt cube

  • Man you simply fucking KICKASS!!!

love this song, love the midi version too, what a great song it could have made for an old nintendo game like contra or mega-man!!!

    Keep on Shredding!!!!!

  • lol

  • fuckin sick guitar man

  • you are tres good

  • real good man the end solo is a interesting touch you should be proud

  • Sweet guitar...:P But even more sweet playing...

    Great job dude...!!!

  • Man PERFECT COVER and I have the same amp as you and this distortion rock!!!!:P

I cover this song to on my channel lol

seriously you do it better than me XD

  • dang sound just like buckethead

  • sounds like buckethead stole a little bit from the crazy train intro

  • @jayhawk808

He wrote that part of the song because he like the 32'nd note pulloffs in the beginning of the Crazy Train verse, I'm sure he added the intro just to complete it.

  • @PGspeed88 See, I didn't knew that, makes sense both the intro and the pulloffs are the most memorable parts of crazy train for me as well

  • @jayhawk808 note fer note

  • @jayhawk808 NO, HE TAKED IT BECAUSE IF YOU WANT TO GO TO BUCKETHEADLAND YOU GOTTA TAKE THE CRAZY TRAIN, ITS SO OBVIOUS

  • @jayhawk808 bhead created this as tribute to him.

  • @jayhawk808

    Buckethead, Ozzy Ozbourne, Marylin Manson...

you need to understand that those intervals are in the same key and sound good

  • @Harimuu You know, Marylin Manson never crossed my mind, but now that you mention it "sweet dreams" does sound the same as well (even though it's originally a eurythmics cover)

  • cool, wish i could play like that!

  • SWEET! Your fingers are nitro loaded!

  • Man. you killed my cover dude......... nice work though!

  • love the guitar

  • nice man 5/5

  • i love the little creativity in the main solo :D

  • nice cover, ur good. Im trying to learn this, the only thing i have problems with are the fast lick at 13 sec and a little bit of the solo.

  • ya me too.... good job but ur tuning is a little out

  • Nice flying-V And ofc nice played, please respond to this comment I'm your FAN!!

  • awesome bro keep it up

  • That's some nice playing! Like your guitar too.

  • uuuugh dude thats way different tuning....but still good, but you also left out the double stop bends!! 4/5

  • this guy is good \m/

  • this guy apreciates the comment good sir \m/

  • YO!!! SICK where did u get the backing track from??

  • Nice V. I wanna get a Gibson but I got no green. I'm gonna work minimum wage over the summer to get it. Pretty tight considering I'll only be sixteen then. YEAH!

  • Awesome

But the guitar pro or whatever that you are using gets over the solo and i cant ear it.

  • awesome

  • BTW, that was a pretty good cover, but I think you blew it by leaving out the kickass double stop bends right at the beginning of the solo. I think that's what MADE that solo.

  • Thanks man, I'm using the Metal amp model with some delay from the amp, bass at 9, mids at 1 and treble at 11 aprox, the overdrive pedal it's just a small boost enough to give the sound a bit more juice, and thats about it. The solo is obvously just my take on it.

  • Thanks.

  • Hey dude, post the settings you're using for all your vids. I've got a Cube and a boost, but my shit doesn't sound nearly that good mic'd.

  • orale! no ps ta rifado, buen vid. tocas chido

  • good job

  • I really see from your moves that you're really good guitarist, how long you've been playing?

  • nice flying V :))))

  • You play really well. Which amp model were you using? R-Fier?

  • where did you get the backing track?

  • it came from a guitarpro tab, it's basically a midi file.

  • where did you gte backing track from could you send me an mp3 or tell me how to get it?? i really wana do a cover of this song

  • That is some of the best improv I've ever heard..

  • That's really good mate, im happy you're playing Buckethead stuff too, he doesn't get enough credit for his skills.

  • Is there a lot of feedback on that?

  • No feedback at all, but I don't play lou so...

But if you are refering to delay/reverb, just a slight amount of reverb on the amp

  • nice playing..i play it a bit different but it sounds the same..i just cant to that fill lol (i play at the 7th fret on the e string)

  • Buckethead's real version is played somewhere around the 7th on the bottom 3 strings, but I find it too stretchy si I go to the 5th, 2cnd and open frets one string higher.

  • sweet.

  • where can i get the tabs?? u know?

  • I googled it and used it for basic reference since it sounded somewhat off, in the end I had to figure out the rest of it by ear. The solo is only an aproximation to the original.

  • nice playing man..how would u rate Jay Turser's guitars?

  • Cheap in quality, finish flaws and overall raw around the edges, but the one I got actually plays and sounds really well despite it's flaws and after a good setup.

And did I mention it was cheap?

  • cool

this is like 10x better than mine lol

  • Your getting there, keep going at it and have fun.

By the way I got an RG321 too, cool little guitar.

  • nice :P

  • best cover ive heard yet

  • no, it's the previous Roland Cube 30 series, before the 30x was released.

    cheers.
