a friend of mine would eat ice cream at home every night becos she was stressed at work. of course she began to pack on the pounds.she realised she was eating becos of stress and disciplined herself not eat when stressed. if she was stressed she would take walks instead. she lost weight without buying into "god is her and within her".

QUOTE GOLDMINE! Just read this wonderful book a second time. Took out my 'hi-liter' and now my hardcover copy is a blaze of yellow. I've found many of my favorite statements by Geneen, here's just one:

This is a great book and I am learning MUCH from it, but Geneen is not a Christian and does not believe in God as most of us do. You will have to discern the good and bad out of this book, but there is so much to learn from it. Just keep your wits about you to recognize phrases like, "She is you." when Ms. Roth is describing God as unbiblical.

@lilprincessdrew Geneen Roth does believe in God! But she is Jewish! So she has a different view of God! That doesn't make her harmful! And God doesn't automatically mean the Christian God I wish people would stop attacking her because of her beliefs! And listen to the message! COEXIST!
