Great showing of the Azera! I'm strongly thinking of buying a 2010 or 2011 soon, and I've seen or heard nothing in your video to dissuade me from this car. One person commented that a private auto repair tech said that Hyundai dealers are nasty and do not want to repair the cars they sell. These vehicles are extremely dependable, and typically need very little repair during the warranty period, and a few years beyond. Great car for the money....
@GrandPrixGTP02 I thought that the Azera was aimed at the Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus, and other full-size non luxury cars. And the Genesis was aimed at the BMW 3 series.
Are you kidding, the 2012 is going to be hot...I jsut saw the new commercial (promo)for it from the auto show...The exterior gets a nice refresh, not drastic and wow the interior goes upscale. 2011 is just a little too bland and the plastics look too cheap..Maybe the effect of the light gray color. IDK. But the black interior on the new 2012 looks sharp to me. And the auto world is making a big deal about it.
Too bad the 2012 Version is going to be fucking ugly as shit and nobody will want to buy it after that .... Same goes for the Genesis, GM designers have invaded Hyundai, I wonder why ....
@xStealth I agree with you. I like the 2011, but the 2012 looks like a stretch sonata, or the big kia. Maybe I'll pick up a 2011 after the 2012 comes out and the dealer wants to clear the lot. Or maybe I'll wind up taking the bus if we don't get somebody else in the White House.
@GrandPrixGTP02 I think this car competes more with the Toyota Avalon/Ford Taurus class. It's way to big to be competing with the 3-Series/C-Class. At least that's what I heard from others on the net.
@celsovera91 I will agree on that one. I do like the Proximity key, however, I also like the standard key and remote idea. It sure does fit in my pocket a lot easier, rather than the larger Proximity key.
@talldude123 The Azera is only a small part of Hyundai's luxury division. While I will say that the Azera is extremely nice and luxurious, the Genesis is by far superior in terms of flagship, as it is one of Hyundai's biggest sellers. The Equus, said to be coming at the end of this year, is going to be competing with cars like the 2011 BMW 7 series, and Mercedes S Class.
@GrandPrixGTP02 Good job on the review anyways. This car does look very luxurious. So this is meant to compare with the 5-series/E Class then? Can't wait to see a review of the Equus, whether it be you or Kyle reviewing it. I can't see Hyundai building a vehicle to compete with an S-Class/7-Series, seeing as those cars are at least $80K.

What I've heard about Hyundai from independent mechanics is that it's really hard to get the dealer to fix the car when it needs it.
The car itself is fine but dealers are nasty.
If a potential buyer hears that, that would scare them away.

@dumnuts1 The 2011 is a very conservative looking car. But it won't go out of style.
The 2012 is edgy but that means it will have to be redesigned every 5 years.

This car is really nice but with the Genesis on the same dealer lot, how can the Azera compete?
SmasherVlog 1 year ago
@SmasherVlog Because the Genesis competes with the BMW 5 series and Mercedes E class cars, and this car is more aimed at the 3 series and C class

@GrandPrixGTP02 I think the Volkswagen "flip" key is the best idea. Alot of automakers are copying it.

i always thought this car was going to be replaced by the genesis sedan.

Nice to see you doing a Hyundai! Haven't seen you do many imports yet. keep them coming! If I'm not mistaken, this is Hyundai's flagship vehicle?

@talldude123 no its the genesis, or the equus
