funky kong has one hell of a speed bonus, thats why they all use him. Im always having trouble with funky kongs with people who know how to use him and my versus record is 9400 something, go figure

Born prodigies at video games, making hilariously cheesy movies, crazy ass game shows, awesome food, way too advanced technology, crazy rollercoasters, EVERYTHING. Japanese = beasts. Specific characters get specific bonuses in certain stats. For example, Baby Mario gets a +8/70 in weight. Funky kong has the largest speed bonus in the game.

People are using an illegal shortcut on Grumble Volcano to get under 30 seconds. It's not fair to the old world champ who had a legal WR. Is there any way anyone could contact MK Wii Staff about this?

The bike he's using is the fastest. Any heavy character could use it, but people just like Funky Kong :)

MasetrOGA, the reason people use Funky Kong is because he gives a +2 boost to speed. All characters give a boost to some stats, but Funky has the highest in the speed area, making him the best for the job. Consult the Gamefaqs MKW message board for all the stats for each character.
