  • @MiCompre Totally agree. But no idea how else they are related

  • I'm begging for one day to have just half as good a voice as Doris Day.

The I would be the greatest singer for the last four decades.

  • so now eveyone knows that the midi skirt and tailored shourlder pad suits in the 40's 50's and in the 80's were classy. I love the fashion in those days espeially the classy fashionable ladies back in those era. Well the midi skirts fashion are now back in style for simplicity and classiness it has in those days.

  • Minha doce Doris Day, te amo.

  • Really?

  • I've never heard this orchestral version before, only the one with the piano accompaniment from Love Me or Love me.

  • beatiful song!

  • EXCELLENT! Thank you for posting!

  • She was one of our neighbors growing up. She liked to help the neighbor kids financially by giving them odd jobs over the summer, and the boys would line up to mow her lawn, hoping she would choose them for that summer. Every summer she chose one boy, and that was steady work for 12 weeks, so all of us were keen to get it. I finally did after 9th Grade, and I had most of the lawns for several blocks, so I did pretty well that summer. Very nice lady, and always pleasant to everyone.

  • @cosg9531 love this story

  • BEAUTIFUL.... Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • what song is she sings when shes wearing that white dress with the belt around it?

  • She's an Original..........

  • beautiful

  • We share the same birthday. That's about it. What a voice. What a smile.

  • She naever had acting lessons, she was 100% natural at it.

  • vaya, asi que es de esta pelicula la melodia que ronda en mi cabeza hace tiempo....

  • A voice that is crystal clear. She was always a favorite. I can watch her movies over and over.

  • Ms. Day is a true angel from Heaven. God has blessed us with her talents. Her modesty, manners, politeness display high charater values for young girls to see and learn from. Today's female actress (not all, but most) are greatly lacking those social values. Ms. Day and my wife are roll models for my little girl to see on how true women should carry herself. I have always had the greatest respect & admiration for her. I love her voice & acting. An American Warrior Soldier and Dad.

  • @RichadTheLionHeat

I agree with everything you say.....They don't seem to make them like they used to ;)..........A Warrior's wife

  • @RichadTheLionHeat Agreed.... Happy Birthday Ms. Day... 4/3/2011

  • "My love for you will live till time itself is through. My heart will beat the way it does

each time we meet." They are really touching lines. They really match this slow

and beautiful melody. Did any other singers cover this number? If so who has sold

    most?

  • This is from " Love Me Or Leave Me", where she played Ruth Etting. Jane Russell was going to get the part, but James Cagney pushed for Doris Day. I'm so glad he did.

  • nice listening to......

  • Love this--one of my favorites. Again, I love the song, the sentiment, and the exquisitely lovely voice of Doris Day.

  • She was born April 3, 1922. The movie's release date was July 3, 1948, so she was 26 years old.

  • ".......the night doesn't question the stars that appear in the sky.............so why should I question the stars that appear in my eyes............" How I love these words.....

  • @nancyfloressantos Yes, these really are truly beautiful lyrics, sang by an equally beautiful actress/singer.

  • "I'll Never Stop Loving You"is one of the songs of DD's 1955 movie Love Me or Leave Me........I'll never stop loving this song..........truly a classic

  • People tend to forget what a great singer she really was. Beautiful voice, perfect placement and control. Someone once said, "Master the technique and the beauty will come." Her singing is effortless, flowing, perfect support. We probably won't see like again for a while.

  • @meinfb I can't think of anyone who has described her voice as well as you. She is really something.

  • Such a great job Doris. I'm glad to know some of it's roots. Melinda Doolittle does an amazing job on bringing this classic to more modern times on her CD.

  • WOW... she was beautiful!

  • Beautiful song. Beautiful video. Beautiful Doris Day.

  • this song is very special for me...soo romantic..to the very special person...

  • She sings this song beautifully.

  • I grew up watching and listening to Doris Day. Can't believe how much I miss her. The videos are wonderful and bring back a lot of memories.

  • I have been in love with Doris Day for 64 years that I can remember. She had the face, figure and voice of an angel, and had more raw talent than anyone before or since.

This song is from her first movie, and I get out my DVD of "Romance On The High Sea" every now and then, though the one that I have nearly worn out is "Move Over Darling." No one else could ever do what she did for a pair of Navy dungarees.

Though she is six years my senior I have adored her since I was seventeen.

  • It's not from her first movie. The film clips are from her first movie - the song is from "Love Me or Leave Me."

  • Thanks for posting this beautiful record of lovely Doris Day singing another lovely song.

  • My favorite Doris Day song. The addition of the strings adds to its classiness and lush romantic quality. The little instrumental part near the end (2:44) is exquisite. A real gem from 1955. Magnificent! Thank you.

  • I believe she was 27. This is Romance on the High Seas. Her first movie.

  • She's 23.....Born 1924, filmed 1947.

  • She was born in 1922:)

  • This is from the movie "Love me or leave me." The big ballad from "Romance on the high seas" was "It's magic," another one of her best songs.

  • @afantastic actually she was 24
