she may of been pregnant by the male when she was perenant with the first 3 when my female was pregnant she was running around with the my males in there play pen and after her first litter was born she had another one a week later she had 18 babies at once .. luckerly i had another female that only had 2 babies so she took on some of the others

Yep it sure is possible. Rats can get pregnant the same day that they give birth. It happened to mine just last month. You're lucky she could handle it! Mine couldn't handle the stress of being pregnant and feeding at the same time and she ended up miscarriaging the 2nd batch and died...

There is some type of animail (forgot it's name) where they can mate and the female can give birth to youngs but it can hold some sperm for week or month than later get pregant using those sperm.
