@nullkid please tell me how WoW is ruining mmo+rpgs... you have to kill monsters to level up, adventure in a lot of random maps, kill bosses in groups (quests), read stories (a lot of them), do battles in groups and mainly raid with a decent group. Please, tell me how.

@Fionafy It's not an MMO or like Diablo/Sacred. It's an actual RPG with plot, dialogue, tactics and yes puzzles and traps. Platinum version has 2 expansions that are very different also. And you can play adventures made by other players.

@jetfoxproductions In multiplayer you can get a very high level in one modded server it took a long time but the admin prooved that the highest rank was 875, the Multiplayers servers can be modded so you cannot even reach the level.
@swordpalme 875, dang how long did that take to get to O_O, i like leveling but not that much ^^; i'm just hoping i don't max out levels to fast, since leveling is one of my favorite pastimes. i don't game online anymore, went through that and it was a disaster. wish i would have known it was a 9gig file though, dang slow internet, can't get anything faster then dsl where i live.

@jetfoxproductions Depends on what you mean normal. Most RPGs are influenced from DnD. Paladins, Druids, Mages, Rogues, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Trolls etc etc All are based on DnD, which was based on Lord of the Rings in the '70s.
DnD is a complex, deep, party based system was and is very popular.

You can shrink that window where it shows the info but it's really useful because it shows all kinds of useful stuff like how much experience you gained, what actions you did etc.
Well DnD is a tabletop game where you play it with dice and imagination, so NwN2 is heavily based on that.
The better you learn the rules the more fun you will have. Check nwvault.com for various mods and modules also.

Neverwinter Nights is one of the WORST rpg's ever. It was practically hack'n'slash. If you want good rpg, try Planescape: Torment, or Fallout 1&2. About starting alone: in most of the best rpg's you create only one character, not a whole party, that's what the rpg is about - ROLE PLAYING.

@XizelSF Well for its time this was actually an "eye candy" game. It failed at it due to alot of bad coding. There are so many glitches in this game it's not funny. Voice acting was terrible, interface was annoying and the AI was ridiculous.
Nothing compares to the great story line that Baldurs Gate had. Even though graphics sent up to par I think BG 1/2 have to be the greatest rpg games of all time.
This is the best game in this genre! The characters, the plot, the story.. everything is so god damn good! I've played this game over 8 times and i'm thinking about to do this again cause many new games like this has a lack of potential, but not NWN2 :)
@IncomingLegend Not necessarily, DA:O was in development long before EA acquired Bioware and Bioware always said DA:O was to be a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate so it would actually be more appropriate to consider it BG3.
@George211995 I mean the first Neverwinter Nights was from Bioware, creator of Dragon Age, Neverwinter 2 is from another company, but they didnt want to differ alot from the original.
I confess I'm a little late for a decent comment or maybe not prepared. But in the end, this game is just a modern graphical representation of the D&D, everything is present in BG2.
But to enter in the atmosphere and feel of the game I had to read a lot and resolution does not help, camera angles are boring. I still prefer to wait 6 months and replay BG2 again or even Ice Wind Dale 1/2 that are big names. Im disappointed, expected more action from this instead of a graphical recycling.

I like RPGs, but I don't like using a party of characters to win my battles. This is my only problem with this game. I don't want to pause to come up with attacks for several characters.
@TheLlamaD That's exactly what I think about this game. The RPG style and the story seem fun, but I would hate to have to control five people. I think it would be awesome with just one character.

seriously how the fuck are they going to turn neverwinter nights into an online game, when it already was an online game? seems like bullshit. what made nwn great on multiplayer was that it was all player run and player created content. you actually had dedicated DMs that provided communities with interactive and and engaging story lines that sometimes lasted a month.
this game seems cool but i don't think i would enjoy the whole pause the battle to cast spells thing i would prefer it much better if it was more like dawn of war kinda ability using but ill give it a try regardless :)

This is the first true DnD game I've ever played. Got it on sale from Steam last week. I enjoy it, but it does have a pretty steep learning curve. I can see how Dragon Age: Origins is considered the spiritual successor to this series.

@jetfoxproductions I only reached LVL 20 and i think the admin is cheating, i like when the Leveling is slow also.
But i agree waiting like a long time for a big server to load is a nightmare.
When its 9 GB but most of them are 200mb, i think the 9GB is the modded ones as i remember.

@XizelSF Well for its time this was actually an "eye candy" game. It failed at it due to alot of bad coding. There are so many glitches in this game it's not funny. Voice acting was terrible, interface was annoying and the AI was ridiculous.
I wasted hours on that game. =P

This is the best game in this genre! The characters, the plot, the story.. everything is so god damn good! I've played this game over 8 times and i'm thinking about to do this again cause many new games like this has a lack of potential, but not NWN2 :)

@IncomingLegend Not necessarily, DA:O was in development long before EA acquired Bioware and Bioware always said DA:O was to be a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate so it would actually be more appropriate to consider it BG3.

I confess I'm a little late for a decent comment or maybe not prepared. But in the end, this game is just a modern graphical representation of the D&D, everything is present in BG2.
But to enter in the atmosphere and feel of the game I had to read a lot and resolution does not help, camera angles are boring. I still prefer to wait 6 months and replay BG2 again or even Ice Wind Dale 1/2 that are big names. Im disappointed, expected more action from this instead of a graphical recycling.

I like RPGs, but I don't like using a party of characters to win my battles. This is my only problem with this game. I don't want to pause to come up with attacks for several characters.

seriously how the fuck are they going to turn neverwinter nights into an online game, when it already was an online game? seems like bullshit. what made nwn great on multiplayer was that it was all player run and player created content. you actually had dedicated DMs that provided communities with interactive and and engaging story lines that sometimes lasted a month.

This is the first true DnD game I've ever played. Got it on sale from Steam last week. I enjoy it, but it does have a pretty steep learning curve. I can see how Dragon Age: Origins is considered the spiritual successor to this series.
