Okay, some people seriously need to tell these geniuses who run youtube that it was a bad idea to put ads on every video page. They make videos very unwatchable since they change every 90 seconds, and the loading disrupts the playback. Which means I have to pause it every time this happens and continue where I left off. It's very annoying. I use youtube to watch videos, not look for ads.

What people don't seem to understand, is that this is more like getting a perfect score in a 15 min guitar hero song (on some insane difficulty which never made it into the series) than speedrunning a platformer. Think about it. He had to press the correct button at the perfect moment constantly for 15 mins straight. In reality, he would have probably had a similar chance of success had his eyes been closed, as he probably doesn't need visual cues. That, people, is dedication!

This was NOT played in real time on console. But with an emulator using frame advance, save states and rerecording. The purpose of a TAS is to see the limits of the game, to see how fast it can be beaten when everything is perfected.

This video is really old tho and back then 15 minutes was pretty fast. After people have discovered new routes to take they've gotten down to under 6 minutes

@RAGwiththeVIDS Yeah what Tomtelala said, this is very impressive but the fact that it wasn't played in real time detracts a huge amount from how impressive it is. It's more like perfecting a difficult 15 minute guitar hero song on expert using 200 attempts and editing it together so it looks like you haven't missed a note. Despite the fact that a real time no-glitch completion would be nowhere near 15 mins, it's fun to see how quickly the game could be completed this way.
