Yeah what a great leader, He gave us Social Security(eternally bankrupt), The UN (and their all-knowing scientists), and Saudi Oil!(nothing wrong with enrichening terror right?) Oh yes, what a success story. Not to mention debasing our currency. That's really working out for us in the end isn't it? Hip Hip, Hooray!
A Republican-controlled Congress after F.D.R.'s death changed the Constitution restricting Presidents to just two terms. Seems they didn't want the Democrats or a Democrat to have a lock on the White House. I laughed when in the 1980's, Republicans wanted to again change the Constitution when there was talk about running Reagan for a third term. F.D.R. wasn't a king but beloved by most Americans, hated by others, but knew the direction he needed to take the country toward.
"ehunter2", talk about hypocrisy. FDR was a great DEMOCRAT just like Barack Obama will be a great DEMOCRATIC president. In that case, the Republicans r nothing but corrupt, gun toting, RACIST,megalomaniacal assholes. Thank god people like you were in the minority last Tuesday
@helixjc ...Unfortunately he hasn't been doing so well the first two years. Just in case you were going to call me a racist too, I don't dislike him because he's black, he just comes off very anti-American. Which isn't a very good trait to be the American president. Also, i'm not a republican either. There is nothing good in either party, if it was a truly good person, they wouldn't be a politician.
@ehunter2 Both parties are. I don't know how only those two parties rose, but i'm sure if the founding fathers were here today they would feel dishonoredto have founded this.

FDR - the greatest American of them all in terms of contribution to US and world success. FACT!. America was on its' knees when he became president and by the time he died they were THE dominant power after helping defeat fascism and ready to face the imperialist threat from Stalin.
What his personal morales are is no concern of mine - glad we live in a world where we can debate such frivolties
Sadly that's true enough, with the exception of Ron Paul and maybe 4 others, throughout history. The really sad thing is far too many peeps today would STILL consider him a "great man" despite knowing he was a lying asshole.
Politicians and statesmen are often two different things.... FDR was both... that he was manipulative doesn't diminish his exceptional leadership... none of his opponents could have accomplished all he did...

he won four straight landslide presidential elections. FDR was almost a king of america. only bad health stopped him.

FDR died barely 3 months after this.
You can tell in his face and voice , that he probably was ill then.

@chrskmbr
Wrong.. Obamas attitude is inseperable from his being black.
The confusion, the self importance, the lack of any sense of
reality, the massive paranoia and self pity..all of it is absolutely
black. Obama is like every black "leader" everywhere. Mugabe in Zimbabwe
Marion Barry in Wash. DC, Jacob Zuma in South Africa, Dinkens, Coleman
Jesse Jackson, Maxine Water, Elijah Cummings..all black..all exactly the same.
But you can pretend this is all whiteys fault if you want.
ehunter2 1 year ago
@helixjc WOW..HERE WE ARE ONE YEAR LATER..
SO HOWS OBAMA "THE GREAT" GOING? He is a fraud an incomptent
black who got through life by running his mouth and conning everyone.
Like all blacks he got away with it until REALITY showed up...then he imploded.

Its funny when people think of what an American President looks like and sounds like
they think of FDR.
But please no mention of him as a Democrat.
The current Democrats are a bizarre freakshow of special interests, vote whores, and CELEBRITIES...not leaders.

you're a lying asshole
jk but no FDR was a fantastic president, IMO
ariellagilmoreer 3 years ago
The FACTS are that he lied through his teeth, frequently. You can hero-worship him if you want but it doesn't alter the facts.
Capnwabbit 3 years ago
Come now Timmy...how did FDR lie? Hmmm?
By allowing Pearl Harbor to happen?
Do you have any sense of what leadership is about? No, of course not. Whats important is to find "hypocrisy" in the Adult world.

Okay, but what politician ISN'T a lying asshole? It's pretty much a requirement.
