Can you make your own Resveratrol ? If so, how dod you do it ? THe doc wanted to put me on Meds because I have a ratio of 7.1 total cholesterol but I refuse to take their drugs. I tried walking a lot , but then got plantars fascitis and osteo -arthritis in my left leg which makes in painful to be on my left leg. My Dad died of a heart atack hwne I was 5 yo and Mom ied of a stroke a few years ago, so perhaps it also runs in my family too : ( ALmonds are supposed to help bring down the LDL. 10/day
I refuse to drink any alcohol at all. WHy use the oil of dead fish ? Cannot flax or hemp oil for EFAs work just as well ? Exercise is a must. THx for posting.
@Gauraonline Nice point. I have a long family history of heart disease and, although I'm young, I'm trying to prevent it now. If you're straightedge, good on ya, you can still benefit from wine by drinking organic 100% grape/berry juices or resveratrol without having to drink alcohol. This is what I do. The same will work for you. Be well. :)
I do believe red wine can raise HDL. However, what do you do if you dislike the taste of wine, as I do? I've never been a drinker in life, because I dislike both the taste and effects of alcohol. I've tried red wine, and I have to brace myself to drink it---like taking a dose of bitter medicine.
Alcohol in moderate quantities will raise HDL. Fish oil has little effect on HDL, although it can slightly increase LDL. Exercise has a very moderate effect on HDL levels. The most effective dietary method of increasing HDL is a lower carbohydrate diet combined with a high-fat diet.
