  • Hi, it is mostly possible, you can search on the 3d gamestudio forums.

  • Is it possible to import an animated mesh into 3D gamestudio?

  • Please leave me message where there are lots of tutorials for gamestudio or the name of the book I could get that explains the editors not just coding.

Need tutorials want to learn this program bad. Tutorial links please there's barely any on YouTube.

  • wheres the button to form models texture(levels.) all i get is three black backgrouds and 1 blue one.

  • @huudiduu sorry, didnt mean to thumbs down bro

  • Can I use lot of textures?

  • That game engine really reads .3ds files? Wow, quite impressive...

  • i am searching for 3Ds MAX download but uncle GOOGLE gives me crap and its to exspensive for me to buy it.

  • download it with torrent or rapidshare - search: 3DS Max Torrent

  • Wouldn't that be illegal?

  • @guliasas02

Have you ever heard about RapidShare (more like RapidShit), MegaUpload, P2P or Torrents?

Welcome to the new era. We even have that kind of stuff now.

  • Yea , the manual says it's best to use PCX format for textures, not JPG. It's all there in the User's Manual under "file formats".

  • When i upload a model from Studio Max, the texture doesnt appear in 3D Game Studio. Im not doing anything different to what you have said...my texture is a JPEG and is 1024x1024. Any ideas?

  • Botheuk, try supported image formats such as BMP, PNG, PCX.

  • Is this 3ds max 9? or is it an older version?

  • where do u download

  • How can I import a Terrain model to A7 GameStudio WED?

  • game studio is free or commercial??????

anybody can help me to get it fully free????

  • can you make meshes in games studio?

  • Yes but you would be better to make them in another package as the modelling package isnt that great. Ie 3ds max or the free Blender programme would be fine.

  • is this game studio * must * use programming knowlenges like c++/c/phython?????

another1, do u get this game studio for free?? please tell me how?????

  • Hi,

Low Poly is always changing with technology I guess, then there is low poly for games on your pc or phone etc. All different.

A Guide I use is on turbosquid for game ready submisions.

I measure with amount of vertices ans faces, in max right click on to properties. A good guide if these are similar then your model is fairly 'clean'.

  • Hi, when you say low-poly, what do you exactly think is low-poly?

Is low-poly under 3'000 polygons [not triangles] or is high-poly 10'000 polygons [not triangles] a high poly model?

    Please reply :D

  • Hi, CroftonGraphics5@ Thank you for uploading this video. This's very useful for me. But I still have a few problems when I'm making the import/export. I have made a model of human being, but her head disappears after I imported it into 3D GameStudio. To be continued...

  • ...What I have done was:

    1) made a model with Poser Pro, and save it as .pz3 file

    2) import .pz3 file into DAZ Studio 2.2.2.20. Edit it and export it as a .obj file

    3) import the .ojb file into 3DS MAX 9. (I can't add materials as it already has textures), and export it as .3ds file

    4) import it into 3D GameStuido's Modle Editor. Then the imported model has complete body, and even eyes, but no head. the skin appears gray (textures are gone?).

Please help me...your reply is highly appreciated!!!

  • hey Crofton, Torque has been Iced...Ice Cubed. This thing was a real nightmare. I do like the Interface-IDE but the coding and programming is awful. Truevision 3D was okay but a little bit better than Torque. But ahhhhhhhhhh!! :)

I'm back with 3D Game Studio and I'm slowly and finally getting it. Sticking and hanging in there with it and the Lite C. Every language, game engine, authoring tool have their own glitches, pecularities, etc. Besides I miss coding in Lite C. :)

  • Sure these game engines come and go, stop and start etc. For me 3D Gamestudio is nice from the environment creation/art point of view, it enables shaders and the viewer to walk around/interact. If thats ok and the FPS is ok for me, Im fine!

  • powermousey, what game engines do u have?????

  • I'm currently trying and using a few others. But, I have used and tried both Torue and 3d Game Studio. Also Ogre3d, Unity and Truespace as well. I did try Esperient but the installion sucks.

It didn't install properly. Will consider Platium Arts Sandbox as well. Too many engines, too little time to learn and use.

  • nice video,i see u are pro making stuff,i got it too (an older version a6 i think) but does not know how to use it.

me and my friend want to make an game and need some many tip we can get,and we need an tutorial at how to make and game and use 3dGameStudio

    so please help us

    thanks

  • HI Smart as water, all I can say is that 3D gamestudio site has some quite good A7 tutorials now. A6 a bit more sketchy. I agree they have a lot to be desired to create a really good inspiring tutorial. The forums are helpful. I will try to make a few more screencasts.

  • Sorry for not replying earlier I was on holiday. How is Truevision 3D coming along these days?

  • I wish I can fiqure out more Lite C more. Its totally different with conventional languages such as Blitz 3d, Pure Basic, IBasic, Aurora Compiler and others. I know C/C++ programming, have programmed in Python, and I'm procient in Blitz3d,Pure Basic, and know some Cobra too. Currently I'm learning Play Basic. I also found out there is a wrapper plugin library to utilize ColdSteel 3d game engine too. My friend is learnig Lite C...perhaps he can help me. If I do go back to 3D Game Studio.

  • thank you for not taking what I said as a flame. Rants yes, but also my personal experiences of trying to learn, code and work in 3d Game Studio. I still like and I miss using the Lite C scripting language. I have tried Torque, TrueVision3d, DX Studio, and a few others. I will try Wintermute Engine and Crystal Space as well.

Leadwerks Engine 1.0 was pretty cool too. I'm new and a beginner to game engines and authoring tools. I might as well try out the free version of Silent Walk FPS.

  • Hi powermousey, yes I accept your comments.

For commercial projects when I use GameStudio, I employ a programmer who knows how to use it. That way I can concentrate on the models/textures/artwork/etc. I have looked at other cheap game engines, realtime engines etc. I like Quest 3D but I really didnt like the node system which was meant to be user freindly. Do you have a favourite indie game engine?

  • Interesting and informational. But, 3d GameStudio is awful. Reasons are: the Lite C script editor is glitchy, some of the commands and functions in both the A7 Game Engine and Lite C are buggy, don't work properly or not at all. Its a very steep learning curve..even at the beginning. Docs are stale and beginner tutorials, samples, examples are few and hard to find.Support and help is few and hard to find. Many beginner questions on the forum attest to the difficulty of this application.

  • I mean bones not the biped.

  • does 3dgs support bones from 3ds max.

  • Hi I have looked at getting biped into GS. I think it would be a workaround, if the commercial project I am doing at the moment gets bigger and they need characters in the level I will make a tutorial on here from what I learn.

  • do you know to get biped bones to work in 3d

    gamestudio

  • Hi 3ds max for the modelling (you can use blender etc if you want to use a cheaper application).

and 3d Gamestudio by conitec for the game level.

  • hey what progam is that???i realy wane know :p

  • wot did u use

  • hey do you know any sites with free video tutorials on 3dgamestudio.

  • Hi sure, I should be putting some more up if I get time between deals. If you make sure you subscribe then you will know when I upload more.

Remember again with this one to make sure that your model is 0, 0 , 0 coordinates in Max or whatever programme you use to export as a 3ds.

  • Thank u so much for this tutorial. I am hoping that u will make more tutorials about 3DGS, plz make a tutorial about the basics of 3DGS the only ones I can find cost money and I'm not aloud to bye thing off the internet. ill keep checking your videos for the next couple of months, thanks again.
