That wasn't a slow roll, that was taking time and giving off that your hand is weak. It's probably a huge reason why the tilted player paid him off like that.

the equity you have is against your opponents hand range. If you have AK and you're playing against a range of 88-AA,AJ+ and you have AK you have less than 49% equity so maybe you don't want to go all in...
because he was faced with a raise and a call then got insta rereraised after he reraised buddy obv had jj or better and like he said its a coin toss and in ring games you wanna avoid coin tosses learn how to play before you go critiquing the masters
Who said anything about a JJ ? I was talking about him folding a ACE AND KING before seeing the flop. If no one has seen the cards, then you or they cannot tell who has the "better" hand. There are plenty of times where I have had an ordinary hand, eg a 3 and J, I havnt seen the flop but I call anyway and suddenly there are two 3's on the table and I have 3 of a kind! The point is, he never saw the flop and had a good hand! It was worth the risk.
@asopaso07 i put his opponent on jj because of the way he is betting i dont need to see his cards. and limping with j3 is a whole different story then folding ak OFFSUIT to a rereraise why would you use that as a comparison? so what your saying is you like to see a flop with any 2 cards even when reraised? please come sit at my table lol.
@jumba202 Look up advanced poker, you don't try and put your opponent on one hand, that's old fashioned. The new way is you look at a set of possible hands they can have. Poker isn't about working out the exact hand someone has.

"Calling an opponent’s hole cards down to the suits is a neat parlor trick that can impress television audiences and intimidate other players. But it is hardly essential to making good decisions against all but the most sophisticated players. Learning to categorize your opponents’ possible holdings is a simple and effective method for improving your decision-making."

@jumba202 Most Pro online players use Pokerstove to analyse their play. You don't use it while you play, but it shows you to think beyond "What your opponent has exactly"
There are many ways to play exactly the same hand among good players. You can only put Donks and Fish on exact hands.
If I know you are the type of person who try's to read exact hole cards, all I have to do is play my hand differently to trap you.
@jumba202 I do do it sometimes for fun while watching others and it's pretty easy in many situations but it's a bad habit to get into. I never base my play on an exact hand someone "must" have.
Unless they are a total transparent fish they are basically telling me their cards!
@jumba202 Just as a note on Daniel. He does that for the camera's and to unsettle his opponents to provoke a reaction that gives away their hand or makes them play differently. He doesn't base his play on that exact hand read.

He played JJ, AK, TT (where he flopped a set), folded JT twice, AQ, JQ, 77 (a set again), looks like an edited video where the comment was added later
It's easy to made a video of playing big hands and hitting top pair or a set and then showing how you win. But what beginners need the most is learning how to handle how to play postflop when you don't flop a monster but eg. middle pair or a straight draw
umm, you should be up 3000 with those running cards, you are a typical poker idiot. i saw nothing above any average play. thumbs down. id love to play with you goon
I don't know how this guy is that great. I mean, he really only has pretty good hands. I have trouble knowing if my 2nd or 3rd pair is good, and stuff like that. It's easy to win when you flop a couple sets and top pairs, and have pocket jacks with no over card on the board, but I want to know what to do with just mediocre hands. I almost always fold them, however I know that they have to be good sometimes, and I don't know how to find that out.
your an idiot if you think AK is a drawing hand. theres only 1 way to make a straight and that is QJT. if your saying that your just drawing to top pair, well then every unpaired hand is a drawing hand which is also stupid
There are "made hands" which would be a pocket pair, and a "drawing hand" like AK. AK is only good when you high a flush or flush draw, str8 or str8 draw (although it will never be open ended), 2 pair, and top top. If you dont hit any of those, there's a very good chance your hand is bad.
The guy with AK knew the other guys sucks, and he can take away his money when he is better than just a coin flip with AK.... as he showed when he took all of his chips with 777.

This guys makes millions doing this for a job.
Oh, and AK IS a good fold, this is a cash game, why waste real cash on a 50/50 flip? If it was a tourney thats different.
it has to be real money because he is collecting ultimate bet points which u dont get in play money games! I wont to play against these guys though they are horrible.

You did play well but u also have to takin into consideration that in that 10 min video u got dealt AK JJ 10-10 and 77 and flop a set when u do. Pretty nice run of cards. But u did play them well.
The hand with the AK i think u should of at least called to see the flop. At BEST he had a medium pp. Just my 2 cents.
How do you know he has the worst hand? He was in doubt about the situation and folded with the excuse that he can find a better spot. I do not say that he misplayed any hand; he is a far better player than I am. I just want to say that the common "finding a better spot" argument is not a valid point.
ak was a good fold, the only possible hand he could be up against where he wouldnt be a under dog is another ak and thats likely to be a split anyway, the other player aint doing that with aq, so he is either gonna be a slight underdog if he is against tens, jacks or queens or a huge underdog against aa,kk, as he says he thinks he is a better player and can get his money in in better spots.
Nothing and mediocre to decent does not include the nuts or very strong hands.
And my experience is that what he says is exactly right. A lot of guys will make this monkey instant-minraise for god-knows-what reason, not really representing anything and having nothing or top-pair weak-kicker most of the time.
I don't get you all, folding ak preflop was a great move after being raised again and a hard one to do. Its possible that he was playing a pocket pair and preflop, like he said, its a 50/50 coinflip. Listen to what he says, there are better spots to play, and hes right.
he folded ak pre flop when the other guy re raised.he could of at least called that raise..it was obvious that guy that raised was steamed about the previous hand...comon dude.
this guy is a poker genius.. i love to hear everyone saying he should play 'odds' which he is. seem to be alot of tight players that people like him walk all over.
what are you saying stanlouw?? Play the odds? What do you think he is doing? You will never win in poker if you dont play like that. And its Brian Townsend talking i think so he knows what he talking about.
Oh Please..I don't think he's unsure at all. He's just trying to find the best way to explain things. I bet he makes these decisions in much faster time when he doesn't have to worry about explaining himself
He has a whole lot of luck and he plays without the best tools. Go to dominateonlinepoker dot com just like i did and get the best tools so you don't have to play poker based on guessing anymore like this guy positively does, he has some skill but still plays in the dark without knowing...
Lol Joris, you obviously know nothing about online poker. Do you know who was playing in that video you just watched? I think not, because if you did you would STFU, & GTFO... Go hang your head in shame toolshed...
you guys are all donkeys the guy who made this video is greenplastic he is considered the best internet cash game player in the world ...he plays 5/10 nl cosistantly and has made millions doing so...morons lol
no your a moron because you thought you were cool telling him that this shouldnt be training video when he is clearly 100 times the poker player you are...and if you watched his videos you might stop donating your chips to people like him
it is not play money the guys name is Green Plastic on UB he plays all of the highest limits, and wins at them the website is a great site he is a great cash game player.
playing like what?the guy who is talking on this video is widely considered the best cash game player in the world. He usually plays 100/200 on ftp he is only playing this low limit for his site
The AK laydown is not that bad... but boy you sure can look like a genous when you keep hitting sets against a donk that likes to bluff off his stack!
I'm too scarred by the AK fold to learn anything else you may have had to teach in this video :(

it has to be real money because he is collecting ultimate bet points which u dont get in play money games!

"Finding a better spot" is not an excuse for missing a +EV situation!
mvogt 4 years ago
Hey. What's an "+EV Situation"?
AnteUp34 4 years ago
A situation with a positive expected value, i.e a situation in that you gain money in the long-run.
mvogt 4 years ago
Ohh. Positive Expected Value. Srry, I didn't recognize that abbreviation. Thnx very much for the reply.
AnteUp34 4 years ago
how is playing for all the money with the worst hand +ev?
joewhu1 4 years ago 2
How do you know he has the worst hand? He was in doubt about the situation and folded with the excuse that he can find a better spot. I do not say that he misplayed any hand; he is a far better player than I am. I just want to say that the common "finding a better spot" argument is not a valid point.
mvogt 4 years ago
It is not a tournament where you need variance management.
mvogt 4 years ago
ak was a good fold, the only possible hand he could be up against where he wouldnt be a under dog is another ak and thats likely to be a split anyway, the other player aint doing that with aq, so he is either gonna be a slight underdog if he is against tens, jacks or queens or a huge underdog against aa,kk, as he says he thinks he is a better player and can get his money in in better spots.
joewhu1 4 years ago
I love the first comment. "A player who is mixing it up a lot who quickly re raises will probably have nothing...or a mediocore to decent hand"
So basically your saying they can have anything!?
dibbla 4 years ago
Nothing and mediocre to decent does not include the nuts or very strong hands.
And my experience is that what he says is exactly right. A lot of guys will make this monkey instant-minraise for god-knows-what reason, not really representing anything and having nothing or top-pair weak-kicker most of the time.

It's hilarious that ppl who play for playmoney and microlimits call this guy a donk.
theblackrabite 4 years ago 2
I don't get you all, folding ak preflop was a great move after being raised again and a hard one to do. Its possible that he was playing a pocket pair and preflop, like he said, its a 50/50 coinflip. Listen to what he says, there are better spots to play, and hes right.

Oh Please..I don't think he's unsure at all. He's just trying to find the best way to explain things. I bet he makes these decisions in much faster time when he doesn't have to worry about explaining himself

You cant fold AK... When you hit the Ace in the Flop and the other 2 Cards are shit you will win!
abda 5 years ago
YOu can fold AK.
If you raise and sombody reraises you.
He is likely to have KK QQ or such things.
If he has KK you are almost dead KK >>> AK
if he has QQ its a bit of a coinflip where you are behind like 45-55
besides that AK vs another bigstack reraising you is always very tricky and difficult to play.
lordad 4 years ago
gotta play the odds dip.s. in the long run you will lose playing like that. hope to run into you online soon......
