So is it a pure veggie now ? I´ve read around on various sites about the hvid engine about explosion/spray cup and the valves carboning up and have to be cleaned regularly.
I did try it on pure veggie and it coked-up so badly I had to remove the head and chip the clag off of valves and out of the combustion chamber and explosion cup. I don't think I'm going to do THAT again!
It seem to me when reading about the hvid that coking up like that is normal.
Anyways veggie oil contains glycerine (glycerol) which is not wanted in fuel and have to be removed by using lye, but i think you know this, its called bio-diesel processing.
Believe it or not, I just found out about two weeks ago what "clag" means. I was told it originated as a nickname for paper paste then graduated to mean anything that gummed-up the works - THEN became synonymous with heavy Diesel smoke.
That makes the name Hoyt-CLAGwell very apt indeed! I am planning on making up a much taller exhaust stack as the one on it now is perfectly positioned to let the clag blow into my face when underway.
Yes! We've just found a way to appease the "Smoke Police"! Now, all we gotta do is find a way to keep the "Food Police" and "Noise Polied" off our backs.
Hybrid parking spaces? Maybe we could just tow the other hybrids out of the spaces so we could have 'em. :-)
I've been reading your page on this, "anti-clagbooger" cracked me up! I really like the steering idea.

It even has the cold start clag too! You'l have to give it a class number!
I would love to do this with my wolseley or lister engines, it would be great fun!

Well aparantly racing drivers also call the ruber left outside the racing line on a track, "Clag."
I think the long exhaust is a good idea, Make the top flared so you get "Clag rings!"

HaHa!, now the environutters can't complain about our engine hobbies!, we just need an alternator and electric motor on our machines!
Dose this mean you can park in the "hybrid car" parking spaces at the mall ;)

Yes! 'Ol Al has had an influence on my life. Just don't ask me what kind of influence, though.
I gotta get off of this soap box and go back to having fun! ;-)
