Well let's see: Pittsburgh did win in 4, the Caps lost in 6, the Habs won in 4, Bruins won in 6, Wings lost in 6, Blues won in 6 I think, rightly Don predicted the Flames would have trouble and it took them 7, Oilers lost in 7.
When Don did this video Charles Barkley was playing for the horrible 76ers EJ was in college and Kenny Smith was playing for the horrible Atlanta Hawks and Craig Sager was wearing horrible suits and Lebron was one fat baby
How long has Coaches Corner used that one clip of Cherry raising his arms up in the air...it's the Canadian equivalent of that skier in Wide World of Sports.
@leafyutube That certainly wasn't expected for the Flames to have it so hard against a then-inferior Canucks team, but the Canucks did go into the playoffs on a roll and came within a mere eyelash of shattering the Flames dreams of a Stanley Cup.
Another lil' tidbit for ya; the Rangers fired head coach Michel Bergeron with 2 games remaining in the season, & then-GM Phil Esposito took over behind the bench. As it turned, that whole fiasco between Bergeron & Esposito backfired on the Rangers, who ended up losing in a 4-game sweep to the Penguins in the 1st round.....
Grapes was also correct on a couple other things: the 'Hawks did have the Wings' number, the Flames needed 7 games vs the Canucks, & Gretzky wanted it more to beat the Oilers than Edmonton vs the Kings.:-)

Indeed Calgary had their hands full with Vancouver. That was a phenomenal series. I'll bet Stan Smyl still has nightmares.
