Augh, come one guys. Everybody knows they're not bears. It's just the name they have because they -look- like bears. People everywhere used to call them koala bears, like people used to always say killer whales instead of orcas.
Orcas aren't whales either, but there's no need to get up and stomp around so much about a damn name.
I was out camping in the bush in Australia, pitch black night, and heard this right outside my one man tent. Freaked me out a bit! -until I found out later what it was from looking (and listening) on the internet.
where i live at the bottom of the adelaide hills i hear these noises all over the hillside, im pretty sure its a terrortorial thing, it gets pretty loud
they r pretty shy creatures, and stay to themselves, ive seen em running around on the streets when theres a drought looking for water, they r pretty gentle, but i wouldnt corner one
OK. I'm an Australian and there's somethings you should know:
1) It is just a Koala. Not Koala bear.
2) It is not barking at all. It is grunting. It is a mating call I think.
So please change the title to Koala mating call
